Just returned from this excellent site. But was very disappointed with some people’s attitude to the use of the wrist bands for safe entry to the toilets. Some people just walked in when no wrist bands were available. I even heard one bloke telling another that they were only needed for the showers. Please read the info given out when you book in. We don’t want another lock down.
Reviewing our stay on holiday.
We felt that we needed to write this review regarding our time spent at your location in Cirencester park. We had a wonderful welcome from reception made all the better by Mike and Hillary Ross. after a day of horrendous traffic jams and driving all day they were friendly, professional, courteous and caring. They explained everything the site had to offer and offered their help in any other information we might need. The site was clean, well kept and peaceful, the toilets and showers were immaculate. Mike and Hillary Ross are a definite asset to the site. Daniel and Debra Pointing Glover. From Hunstanton, Norfolk.
Great site spoilt by poor access.
Recently stayed at Cirencester Park. Great site, great location but the new access has been ill thought out and is dangerous, especially at busy times. Since our last visit changes have been made to the shared access road. Not sure who is responsible for this but the original single track access road, with passing places, has been re-routed to form a wildlife corridor. Unfortunately the single tack access has two bends in and at the time of my visit (24th - 27th July) the vegetation either side was sufficiently high to obstruct vision. The access is shared by the Cirencester Cricket and Tennis clubs along with pedestrians and cyclist from the caravan club site. Today, when I departed along with two other caravaners, our departure obvoiusly coincided with the start of a match or training and we met approximately 10 vehicles coming towards us. To add insult to injury the access road is lined with some harsh looking boulders and many of the incoming car occupants were showing there displeasure with having to reverse to allow the outward bound caravans and motorhomes to depart. So be prepared to run the gauntlet of abuse from other users, at busy times and walk with care.
Appalling access to site ruins the experience
Cirencester is beautiful and there is a lovely walk from the site into the town, which should make this a wonderful site. However the access road is so bad that it negates the positive aspects of staying on this site. To be specific, the single track access road is shared with a neighbouring agricultural college, To protect the verges, which have been seeded with wildflowers, the college have placed large stone boulders every metre or so along the road. The site is busy so it's almost inevitable that you need to reverse your car, caravan or motorhome as you are using the access road. The boulders are so large that you run a significant risk of damaging your vehicle as you are trying to make room for other vehicles to pass. It is a huge problem not even mentioned in the site's Access Statement. We spoke to other members who told us they had been visiting this site for many years but will not now return, because of the access road. We certainly won't be returning and I would not recommend the site to anyone. Really the Caravan and Motorhome Club must get involved and negotiate improved access. This issue makes this site unacceptable as a Caravan and Motorhome Club site.

Love the site
Thoroughly enjoyed my stay here, great team of wardens Disabled facilities were excellent
spotless, and well thought out, the cleaning times in the afternoon make a lot of sense as well. well done caravan Club,Only negative, access road can be a bit challenging but I only have a small campervan, so it wasn't a problem for me. Cirencester town is one of my favourite places in the UK, so I will be back!!
Great site but new access road poor
This is a great overall site that we have stayed on several times. It has excellent facilities on site and lovely walks and countryside surrounding it. There is a lovely tree lined stroll into the local town that has a range of interesting shops and local market.
Unfortunately, the new access road that has been put in to separate it from the local college is very unfriendly and badly designed with large boulders lining the route. It’s basically a single track road with a couple of small passing places.

Lovely site - BUT?
We've stayed at this site on several occasions & we love it.
BUT - on this occasion it was chaos trying to get into the site on this visit. In the past, we've had to manoeuvre our motorhome because another vehicle was coming the other way but this time it was ridiculous. We arrived with 2 other vehicles behind us only to be met by 2 oncoming vehicles. There are no passing areas so you can imagine the situation.
For such a lovely well visited site, a one way system is needed or some form of traffic lights to aid access.
Apart from this it is a wonderful site.
Great site with lovely walks
We loved this site and the wide variety of pitches. We managed to pitch up in a nice shady spot with facilities not far away. The site is very big and it was interesting walking round it to see all the other pitches. The access to the site is quite narrow but we just went careful and managed with others taking care as well. The staff were helpful and friendly and the shop was useful when we run out of soap and felt like an ice cream. We found great walks from the site every day without the need to use our vehicle. From the huge park we could walk to St. Anne's Monument, into the woods and up the park main road into Cirencester. The walks and woods are great for children and Cirencester was a nice town to visit. We met Simon the Dinosaur in the park and could buy drinks from the refreshment caravan. It was wonderful all round.

Nice Site, Appalling Access
Visited during half term and have to say the location is excellent with a wide variety of pitches and the facilities to the usual high standard we have come to expect from a club site. However, having been towing for over forty five years I can honestly say this is the worst access I have ever experienced. There are many narrow access roads to sites but I don't recall one that has boulders bordering the track such that the slightest contact is likely to cause considerable and expensive damage along the floor/wall junction of the caravan. I think we are all aware of the number of caravanning newcomers that have appeared due to covid travel restrictions, and it is these people in particular that are going to get caught out due to lack of experience. Many of these people may well be towing new vans, which will exacerbate the misery and possibly put them off caravanning for good!!
I watched the video of the approach on youtube prior to our visit and have to say it was most useful to get an idea of what to expect. I would also like to thank DT for the making of the video and echo his recommendations to take the lane VERY slowly. I would also like to add that people may want to use their mirrors on the corners in particular. Also it may help to ensure your vehicle mirrors (as opposed to extension mirrors) are angled down in order to achieve a better view of the caravan wheels and lower sections of the caravan. Finally, if you meet traffic coming the other way, dont feel pressurised to do anything you're not comfortable with. Not trying to teach anyone to suck eggs but as I was once told when I worked in aviation, "the day we think we have stopped learning is the day we become dangerous".
Super visit once again with excellent wardens working very hard
We have just returned after a week at the site and have to say that we once again found it brilliant, we feel the outdoor space at this site is pretty much unmatched, the play fields on the site with the grass maze are great and the dog walks looked excellent although we don’t even have a dog!
Wardens were brill, friendly and worked tirelessly to keep the site tidy and clean. We had no issues all week.
I can see the issues with the road, it is certainly a terrible and ill thought through approach, however we experienced no problems on arrival or exit with the caravan or at all during the week when we drove out and in several times through the week. We may have just been lucky though I guess, the road wouldn’t put me off though from visiting what is a superb site and location.
Thanks for a great break :-)
