We'll be back!

Our first trip out since the end of lockdown, and what a great place to start! It was very busy upon arrival with a number of people waiting to book in, but the wardens handled it with skill and good humour. Only one toilet block was open at the time, but we have got used to using on board facilities this past year, so this wasnt an issue. The big bonus here is Cirencester Park which the site backs onto. Much of it is available for dog walking, and you can really walk for miles. Its easy to walk into Cirencester, and certainly worth the effort. We wil certainly visit again

Good site. Great surroundings

After negotiating the avenue of rocks the site is situated next to Cirencester College and open parkland. This is a large, well laid out site. Facilities (when fully open) are excellent. Wardens work hard and maintain the site really well. Sadly I had to clear up dog poo from our grass pitch - not something you want to do after 3 hours driving. No blame on the dog just irresponsible owners!! Sadly on two separate occasions the electricity went off. I have never experienced this in all the years of visiting the site. I suspect very cold weather and a full site simply overloaded the system. Cirencester is lovely and within pleasant walking distance through open parkland. Sadly due to Covid regs indoor dining and drinking was unavailable and outdoor venues often too cold to sit for very long.

A lovely, well maintained site and helpful, friendly wardens

We have stayed at this site many times, although never over a Bank Holiday. The site was full over the weekend but it was still a lovely peaceful site. A lot of people have complained about the boulders on the approach to the site, but driving through them is no more difficult than the approach to many other sites we've visited. The site staff worked hard to maintain the high standard of the facilities and were always friendly and helpful, especially with all the extra work of a Bank Holiday and Covid regulations. There are many walks from the site through the Bathurst Estate and it's an easy walk into the town centre too. I'm not sure if it was because there were so many people around the site, but many drivers not only ignored the speed limit but also seemed to think it's okay to drive the wrong way around the one way system. These regulations are in place to keep everyone safe on the site. We also had several people walking across our hardstanding pitch which we consider to be downright rude - especially when they peered into our windows when walking past! This is a lovely site and one we will return, but possibly not over a Bank Holiday weekend.

Challenging

The large rocks on the entry to the site are not good when towing a large caravan, if you were to meet another vehicle it would be disastrous. Wardens were professional but stressed. The electric was off for long periods on Friday and Saturday evening which did cause issues throughout the site where we were located. Hopefully this will be sorted soon - really difficult with fridge constantly beeping, TV on and off constantly. The TV signal was very poor along with mobile phone signal. Great dog walk and nice walk into Cirencester through the park.

Brilliant 5 nights

On arrival was greeted with friendly staff, check in very prompt. Site spotlessly clean, as always. Well maintained site, A big thank you to all the wardens for your hard work . Only used facilities a couple of times, but they were spotless. Wardens worked very hard sanitising the waste bins, and hook up points keeping every one safe. it was a peaceful 5 nights. Looking forward to our next visit to the site, we are never disappointed when we visit this location.

Great first trip of the year

On arrival there were one or two people ahead of us but our wait was not long despite the site computer having just gone down. The entrance road did not cause us and our motorhome any problems but it is essential that visitors comply with the arrival time. The site was very clean and tidy. It was good to see hand sanitiser at all the service points, something we have not seen sometimes elsewhere. We did use the toilet facilities and they were always very clean. Our pitch was lovely. backing onto the Cirencester Park and you could see the cricket pitch in the distance. It was peaceful. We had a good grassy area in which to relax and enjoy the beautiful warm, sunny weather. There was a very friendly atmosphere. We stayed for four nights and had a lovely time walking in the park, also watching some polo there too. We did a couple of walks around Cirencester to look at some of the roman history of the town and it was good to see the shops open again too. We also cycled to Kemble on the national cycle route which was very quiet, some off road, some on quiet lanes. It passes the Cotswold Water Park so you could stop off there for a coffee or watersports if you wanted to. All in all a great first outing and we can't wait for the next. Coniston here we come!

Ideal for a short break

Entry road to site a little tight to navigate, well signposted. Wardens were pleasant and efficient. Pitches well laid out and a good size. Toilet blocks were well maintained. Pizza van on Thursday evening & Fish & chips on Saturday during our stay. Nice selection of fresh herbs available to pick by the entrance barrier - a lovely addition that we seem to be seeing more of recently - saves having to carry plants or buy bunch when you just need a sprig. Easy 15 min or so walk through the park into Cirencester, the Corinium micro brewery a short walk away (only open Fri-Sat 3-7pm at the moment). Well maintained site, all Covid guidelines followed as much as possible, unfortunately there were the usual few selfish people who seem to think they are too important to do as requested.

Disappointed with whole visit

To start with a very unfriendly manor by wardens as soon as I stepped foot in the office also after an unfriendly driver on approach to site on the awful rock loaded road, I thought I have arrived and I could relax, how wrong I was . 1 - cutting of grass up to vehicles too close whilst we are in them Should be done before and after arrival 2- strimming within 3 metres whilst eating breakfast outside as well as cutting No consideration again should be carried out as above 3- emptying of recycled glass at 6.30 am I would think waking up a lot of people 9am is an appropriate time 4- an argument regarding a small dog tent outside someone’s awning Really ? After watching another member allowing his dogs exercise of the lead , that seems ok ! I am fed up of going for a walk and hearing peoples issues with site staff we pay our membership to come away for a break and I honestly feel my money has been badly spent the last 4 days I am not happy and have not enjoyed my break GET RID OF THESE WARDENS CIRENCESTER IS A LOVELY SITE

Response from the Club:

Many thanks for your review. The site team at Cirencester Park have been in touch as they work incredibly hard to ensure the site is well cared for and that everybody on site has the best experience possible. As such they would like to address your concerns.
Please be assured that the site team try to ensure any inconvenience is minimised but as the site is open 24/7 the team do have to cut the grass whilst there are guests on pitches to maintain the site for the enjoyment of all guests. The site team ensure strimming is always carried out 15 metres from outfits. We are sorry that the emptying of glass recycling at 6.30am disturbed you. This is not normal and the Site Manager is aware of this and is taking this matter up with the contractor to ensure it does not occur so early in the day again. The site team had to ask a member to move the tent as it had been put up on the fire break causing a health and safety risk. They were polite in their request and did their utmost to help the member. The site team had not been made aware of anyone exercising their dogs off the lead. If they had been advised, or had seen this, they would have spoken to the owner to reconfirm Club Rules on this subject. If you see this happening again please do let the team know.
We hope this helps address your concerns and we hope to welcome you to a Club Site again soon.
