You can't tell a book my it's cover

Before I arrived at the site I read two negative posts that raised my concerns about my booking which was due to start on the Sunday. I phoned to the site Friday afternoon and had to leave an answer phone message with a request for a call back. I didn't receive the reply until Saturday morning due to the wardens being extra busy that afternoon. By this time I had given up hope of the callback and thought the negative posts must be true. I was about to cancel my booking when the call finally was returned. Assistant Warden Ali explained the steps that had been taken at Chester Fairoaks site and reassured and allayed my doubts. I was greatly impressed by Ali and decided to trust her judgement. I arrived on Sunday and spent the next seven nights on the site enjoying all that the area could offer. There is so much to see and do its a great area to visit. The lesson that I learned is that everyone is entitled to post their opinion, not all of us see things the same way. By trusting Ali and the other wardens I knew that they would do their best to manage the site and my stay there, which they accomplished. The book cover may look different to the story inside but once you get into it you might be pleasantly surprised like I was. Fairoaks is well worth a visit.

Always a favourite

This site is perfectly positioned for a shopping extravaganza. Very well set out and run by friendly wardens. Facilities are all clean including the Disabled ones. We even found the best Chinese Take-A-Way in Chester lol.

Overnight Stop

Site is ideally sited for Cheshire Oaks outlet centre, but the road could really do with a pavement, especially if you are on foot and want to visit the shopping centre. We started to walk but felt it was to dangerous and returned to pick up our campervan to drive.

Another great visit

We have stayed here many times and it has always been a great stay. We just wanted to Thank the brilliant wardens specifically this time as they went above and beyond on this visit. I fell ill on the arrival day and they couldn’t have been more kind and caring, checking on me the next day. They also came out in the pouring rain on the second evening to check that we were ok. As others have mentioned, there is flooding with downpours but it clears very quickly. It meant a lot that they would go out of their way to check all was well. Lovely clean site as well. Thank you.

Quiet yet convenient - Brilliant staff

We were nervous about this when we booked it given the proximity of the 2 motorways and nearby Airport but it turned out this site was lovely and quiet. There is so much to do in the area. Couple of things we found were: - Chester by bus was easy and cheap - Crazy Golf at Paradise Island in the Cheshire Oaks shopping Complex was superb. - Cheshire Oaks shopping had great discounts - Ellesmere Port Waterways museum - wonderful and definitely worth the visit - Speke Hall (National Trust) and gardens were well worth the visit (but watch out for the toll bridge cost - you may want to find an alternate route) All that plus the staff were brilliant given we had a puncture on the way up. They were really helpful throughout our stay. Will definitely think about going back

Excellent site. Generous, friendly and helpful staff

Excellent site. Generous, friendly and helpful staff. Wonderful selection of unusual herbs available to try, with suggestions for use. The whole site is immaculate and beautifully cared for and well run. Recommend Premier plans nearby for healthy plant bargains and a good cuppa.

Nice clean site

We were here in July and unfortunately had a couple of days of really heavy rain, so experienced the slight pitch flooding. However, the water disappeared very quickly between showers! Our main concerns - with every club site and not just Chester - are the new reductions in site services. The site bin areas dotted around have been replaced by one large communal Biffa bin area, and this can be a long walk for some people. It will prove to be problematic; people will no longer separate their recycling and will just dump large bags of mixed rubbish which can already be seen to be happening. There are no light bollards at night which is just asking for trouble from a safety point of view. It seems we are paying more for membership yet receiving less. What are we paying forty pounds a night for? Useable WiFi is NOT included, the free WiFi cannot be relied upon which is why Premium is offered at a high price. We use very little electricity, basically TV and charging two phones. We are being asked by signage to use our own facilities where possible, to ‘save the planet’ by emissions, light pollution etc….but really it’s just to save CAMC money. The toilets are always clean, which is a given, not an extra. The site was clean and tidy, but could do with a drop box at the exit barrier for key fobs.

Nice site, handy location

We went in February, it was a bit wet but our pitch was fine. Pitch was massive, had loads of room. Toilets were spotless, possibly the cleanest we've seen. Play area is a massive bonus for the kids. Hand location for Chester Zoo, Cheshire oaks and other bits around.

Visit March 2024

Have been to the site many times, in sunshine, rain and even snow. This time it was when it had been raining. Sadly the site was extremely water logged. The pitch we chose was for an awning but we were not putting ours up on this occasion due to the really bad weather. The pitch itself had a part where the previous occupants caravan had sunk (wheel) into the pitch. When we came to hook up to the electricity, the grass was submerged under water. I informed the wardens and was advised to put down cardboard so that we could walk on it! On a positive note, the site is really close to Cheshire Oaks and there are so many great places to eat. It really is ideally placed. Despite being waterlogged I am still going to visit again, but possibly when the weather is better and the site not waterlogged.
