This site is perfect for visiting cheltenham, and also for the gloucetser warwickshire steam railway which is a short distance away, and is an excellent day out. the site is perfect and facilities are as spotless as any other site ive been too. great views of the racecourse and countryside. highly recommend a visit to this site. great tv reception and mobile phone signal.
Ideal cotswold touring base
Great site,we are in a motorhome,so the 2 minute walk to the bus stop with buses to the centre of Cheltenham , every twenty minutes ,is most welcome, Cheltenham has lots to view and visit ,including the Everyman theatre,an abundance of shops ,and pubs and fantastic restaurants ,very helpful staff and a nice clean tidy site, will come again.
Great site for railway enthusiasts
A very functional site so do not expects grass pitches and hedges, although there are lots of immaculate green stuff to see over the racecourse side of the rail. The pitches are spread around the Best Mate Enclosure which slopes quite a bit - motorhomes will need levelling blocks. Three plus points - a heritage railway a short walk away, a great bus service nearby and a dose of racing history.
The Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway is a good day out, particularly if you take time to break your round trip and have a look around the main stations. It will soon run to Broadway!! Cheltenham is a pleasant town and the bus stop is in the 'park and ride' about five minutes walk away. Although it is not widely advertised, the main entrance to the course offices displays their 'Hall of Fame'. You are free to wander around the display cases during office hours (but not race days) and review the history of this great sporting venue.
Great site!
We have just got back from a wonderful week in Cheltenham.
This site is fabulous! There is no road noise and the site is extremely peaceful with plenty of space between pitches.
The wardens were relaxed, friendly and helpful.
Our pitch had outstanding views across the racecourse to the hills beyond. Levelling blocks are required, but that's hardly a problem.
Cheltenham town centre is a pleasant twenty minute walk away, which made life very easy for us going to the literature festival.
Cirencester is a thirty minute drive away and is well worth a visit, particularly as it has a motorhome friendly car park! This was The Beeches car park and at only ÂŁ2 a day is great value.
We thoroughly recommend this site and will have no hesitation going back.
Unusual site , sloping pitches and not well marked out.
Definitely an unusual site staying right on the racecourse but very convenient for us visiting relatives nearby.
Also easy walk into Cheltenham.
Toilet block felt a bit like a public toilet with the long urinal. although was clean I didn’t like the way one showers water drained into the next cubicle.
We arrived at 12 reception was closed with a note on the door saying we had to choose our own pitch which was a bit confusing as was a big sloping car park and not layed out very well. Also levelling Ramps were a must on lots of pitches. Nobody around to assist until 2pm with just a note on the reception door, not what we have experienced before on a Club site.
Nice walk around the perimeter of the site for the dog.
We would stay again due to the location however apart from the racecourse views the site itself was fairly charmless. It felt a bit like a sloping car park with bollards.
Love this special site!
First of all, the wardens are the nicest club site wardens we have ever met! Lots make you feel unwelcome as soon as you check in. Here they were so friendly and helpful! The site is great. Yes, you can be parked on tarmac (which would be great in bad weather anyway) but you're never far from a beautiful view...I'd say the views are as good as you can get (inland anyway) The location is great....near a couple of villages with pubs, but Cheltenham is about 15/20 mins to walk to (pleasant too) or you can get on the bus. What a great place Cheltenham is! Beautiful buildings surround numerous lovely parks. Lots of nice eateries and bars. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at this brilliant quirky site!

Fantastic stopover/short break
This site is great for a short break or stopover. Even though close to everything it was quiet and peaceful at night.
Great Location
We had a couple of weeks here. (We have relatives and friends in the area).
Great location, getting into Cheltenham is very easy.
Beautiful views,facilities are fine,very clean.
Nick and Karen are such friendly wardens, very helpful and will always go that extra mile.
We will always return here.

Good for visiting Cheltenham
First visit to this site and used as we were visiting relatives locally. I would be quite happy to stay here again to (a) visit relatives again (b) visit Cheltenham. I'm not sure I'd want to consider my main holiday here though.
The site somewhat defies coventional logic, as it is basically part of the racecourse apron, there is a vast swathe of concrete and tarmac, thus the term 'campsite' is hardly applicable. However, we stayed on a grass pitch and there are some lovely views across the racecourse to the hills. I'm also becoming a bit of a shower nerd, and found that the male showers draining straight from the next door one across my feet to the drain a bit bizarre. I'd also question how 4 showers cope with the site when it's full.
However, the position is fantastic, a brisk walk from town or hop on the bus at the park and ride. In every way it's great, if you forget about the tarmac!
Perfect for a night stop over, but would not like a week there
Staff helpful and friendly. The Racecourse had contractors working so I would not say it was quiet. We used this for a two night stay over which worked fine. Dog walk was to far away, there is a few gates which would have made a quick access to the walk but they where all locked. SORRY GRASS IS GRASS AND IT GOT WATERED.
