This site is an absolute gem. Immaculate with an excellent welcome from Peter and Sandra. They work hard to give the members a good experience. They should be commended for their efforts. Their site should be an example for the rest of the network
42 nights here every year
We love the location and Sandra and Peter the superb wardens. It's so refreshing to find a lovely location along with superb wardens like Sandra and Peter, a lovely caring couple who are very helpful throughout our stays. They are worthy of a Gold or 5 star award.

Excellent site for Cheddar and area
It is an excellent site within easy walking distance of Cheddar Village and Gorge. Also, close to the lovely city of Wells with an astounding cathedral and the bishop's palace. The town of Glastonbury is also close by just a short drive away with its quirky shops. A good area to explore with loads of culture or the seaside within easy distances.
Excellent site for adults
We loved our stay at the site. Friendly and pragmatic staff ready to help out. So convenient for the Gorge walks, pubs and restaurants and one of the more extreme crazy golf courses we have played on (if you are in to that sort of thing). Try the local cheese straws as well - to die for.
Lovely site
Lovely little site that is only a short walk to Cheddar & Cheddar gorge. Very clean and tidy and the wardens were brilliant and very helpful. Really good phone signal (5G on EE)
Bath Arms was very good for food and doggy friendly. The town was very busy as we stayed over a bank holiday weekend.
Really recommend this site.
Excellent Site
Compact, well kept site within easy walking distance of Cheddar.
The site has good size pitches and the facilities, although a little dated and cramped, are perfectly serviceable. (There are only 3 shower cubicles in the mens washroom plus one for disabled). We had a very friendly welcome from the wardens.
The site is within a 15 minute walk from Cheddar with gift shops, cafes and pubs. (The Bath Arms is excellent and dog friendly).
We also found the Cheshire Ales Tap Room. Again a 15 minute walk and dog friendly. A great range of ales brewed on the premises and the best pizzas we have had in a long time.
The site and surroundings surpassed our expectations and we will be back.
Mr and Mrs Lovely Wardens!
Sandra and Peter are such lovely and helpful wardens. They keep the site and facilities immaculate . They never seem to stop!! Peter came out when on his lunch break to check that our visitor could get out of the car park after a huge motorhome towing a car blocked the car park. Huge thanks and respect! This is a lovely site with generous pitches and lovely views of the Mendips. I have read previous reviews about outdated facilities which I think are unfair. As a camper I want clean facilities. If I wanted a posh loo and shower I'd stay in a 5* hotel!!
Site is clean and tidy.
Showers were mouldy. Fittings out of date. Cubicle far too small. Silly stool that’s not needed. Make host was old school but now moved on I believe. So hope the new hosts do better. Being shouted at for wiping a van is not ok. Pitches are ok if you don’t mind the local dog breeder’s malamutes howling. The town is lovely and obviously the sights to be seen are amazing. Local pub was lush. All in walking distance. 50/50 if we would return.
Well run friendly site.
We arrived to a friendly welcome from the lady warden. The site is nice and peaceful with dog walks directly from the site. The warden working in the grounds must have noticed we were newbies to setting up a caravan. He came over and was so nice giving us a short tutorial on basically anything we were not sure of from unhitching safely to the motor mover and the controls inside the caravan. It set us up in our minds for a lovely stay. He didn't need to do anything, he wanted to which shows great customer service. The site is close enough to walk into Cheddar and supermarkets, Tesco's Express and a Sainsburys. Thank you for a lovely first time in our newly purchased caravan.
Ideal location for Cheddar
Stayed at weekend and it was full. Wardens very friendly and welcoming.Site is ideally located for Cheddar approx 10 minute walk, only disadvantage is route is up steps to get into Cheddar which with a pram is not ideal.Cheddar is a lovely area to visit with plenty of walks in the area and lots of places to eat locally.
Site is a bit like a car park , not particularly attractive but its location to Cheddar is ideal.Facilities were all clean, however the baby room was locked in the evening so we were unable to use .At other sites we have been given a key to use it.This needs to be sorted as it is a facility that needs to be available.
There is only one msp close to the exit , which as the majority of pitches were motorhomes could mean a queue to fill up and blocking the exit out.
