Christmas stay

Arrived Christmas eve 1pm and Warden straight out of reception. Name taken ticked off explained all there is to know and in we go. Talk about straight forward and friendly. watched as other guests turned up while filling motorhome tank up and everybody just quickly and easily booked in. NO queueing what so ever. Now after transitioning from a caravan to Motorhome I have noticed that nearly every club site I go to only Has ONE motorhome service point. what with the amount of motorhomes on site now I think sites need more that one service point. Our van takes 20 to 30 min' to fill. If arriving on a busy day there could be a long queue for water filling which I imagine would block the site roads which would be a shame after such a quick booking in.. Great site and walks through the gorge with plenty of pubs, cafes etc.

Well worth a visit

Very close to town. Great reception from the warden. Massive car boot sale at weekends not far a way. Fairly level pitches. Gorge is worth a visit but is busy most of the year. Local pubs vary but can be expensive.

Great site close to Cheddar centre

Great site with a short walk to the nearest pub. Quiet, clean and warm toilet blocks which is a god send in temperatures of 1 degrees centigrade. Gorge is walkable to local shops and a great restaurant la Roca. Wardens fantastic nothing to much trouble and always had a smile.

Brilliant out of season site

Brilliant out of season site (we stay next door during the main season as it's adults only!). Love Cheddar and this site is excellent with everything on your doorstep. Fantastic wardens and quick and easy check in. Choose your own pitch (large hardstandings) and then go back and pay/collect barrier card. Small toilet/shower block but very clean and up to CAMC standard (other than the shower cubicles being really small). Information room (extensive), washing up area (indoor) and laundry. Bins and water around the site, never too far away. Easy walk into the village, supermarkets, quirky shops, pubs restaurants, takeaways, etc. All you could need. We'll definitely be back again out of season.

NICE QUIET SPOT

We much enjoyed our recent stay at Cheddar - very welcoming and friendly site managers and the site is very well situated. A very easy walk into the village and a fantastic walk around the top of Cheddar Gorge (we parked in the gorge as we didn't want to add an extra mile to our walk as it is a fair old trek). And of course Cheddar is well situated - we were able to visit a couple of National Trust houses not far away. We did wait for a few minutes on the way out while a motorhome discharged.

Delays leaving the site due to motorhome discharge point blocking the barrier when in use.

This is a very nice site ideally situated to visit Cheddar and the surrounding area. The facilities are immaculate as are the pitches. The wardens are very helpful. Our only gripe is the positioning of the motorhome waste point is directly outside of the exit barrier which means that if a motorhome is discharging its tanks etc NO ONE CAN LEAVE THE SITE. We waited in a queue of seven vehicles waiting almost 25 minutes to get out as we waited for several motorhomes in front of us to take their turn, have a natter and nip into the toilets before pulling out.

Cheddar club site

The site is very clean, the shower block needs upgrading ,and I think the pegging out of the pitches is wrong on this site as in if u reverse in on a motorhome u got no hard standing to walk out of your habitation door really strange set up compared to other motorhome sites

Cheddar is a little gem.

The wardens are very helpful and friendly, the campsite is on the outskirts of Cheddar village, and affords great access to the gorge walk. We had 5 nights on a grass pitch, and although the weather was very rainy for July, the site drains pretty well. The nearby construction site was a little noisy at times, but this was no fault of the Club or the site itself. The site is well kept, and the toilet block is due a refurb any time soon. Overall - a great location for visiting Somerset and nearby Cheddar.

Excellent Wardens Sandra and Peter - Very well managed site with plenty of places to visit

Peter and Sandra have been so welcoming and helpful during our 2 week stay, just 2 lovely people. Having some physical mobility problems they ensured that we were within easy reach of the Shower/Toilet and other facilities to make our stay as pleasant as possible. We enjoy the visits to our relatives a short distance away, along with places like Wells, Glastonbury and Burnham On Sea and visit twice a year. If you're a Fish and Chip lover, then we can highly recommend Cheddar Fish Bar, a must every time we go to Cheddar. There are many other varied eating places for all tastes. A quiet unspoilt site to enjoy your stay.
