Maybe too popular!

Chatsworth is certainly the true Mc Coy when it comes to the ideal site. However, recently I have noticed that it has become rather an expensive site compared to say Castleton. It's probably down to supply and demand so it's probably all relative. Great site but avoid pitches 27 - 32 they are desperate for more gravel and when it's wet can be muddy. Oh and don't forget your ear plugs, the crows in the trees drive you nuts in the mornings!

Limited Edition !

A splendid site for walkers, families who enjoy nature, no roundabouts etc:. We were disappointed as the pitch we occupied was next to a farm barn. a diesel engine ran for several hours from 8.30, fumes and noise so we went for a walk along the river in the lovely Park. acess to the Duke's house is just a walk away. Site facilities are extremely clean and smart even if small for the amount of people. No views as enclosed by the "garden wall" of Chatsworth's original gardens.  May return to view one  the many events held at Chatsworth annually.  Booking months in advance,  being a disadvantage in our opinion.

Another visit for 2016

Just been to Chatsworth Caravan Site, this is our 6th visit, we just love this site. There isn't much on site for children, a small playground for younger children, that's it, does not bother us as we are pensioners. If you haven't been before you cant check in before 1pm. You have to leave by 12 noon, it's one way in/out, so don't try to get there too early as they will not let you check in till 1pm, and rightly so. We got there about 5 mins before 1pm, there was only 2 vans in front of us, the 1st van had been there since 12 noon, she had been before so should have known they will not let you check in before! Check in was quick, you then go choose your pitch, and tell reception what number your on, then you get you key for the door into Chatsworth grounds. We had a good choice of pitches to choose from, but the site soon filled up. All week people were coming & going, it's a very popular site. The guy at the back of us caught his van on the water tap, him being on a fully services pitch, I think it was a new van too, ouch. Reception staff were friendly, as was all the wardens. The facilities are kept clean & tidy. Walking is good in the area, so don't have to use your car for a few days if you don't want as plenty of walks around Chatsworth Estate alone. We went to The Wheatsheaf in Baslow village for a meal, I had pie with puff pastry, hubby had pie with shortcrust pastry, but as these were microwaved, they were both soggy. The burgers looked like they were popular. In Bakewell we went to the Red Lion one lunch time, we both had fish & chips, they were lovely, the batter was very crispy. I think the site has had a lot of trees cutting down or trimmed, it looked quiet open, but there again there was no leaves on the trees just yet, so might look different in a month or two. Word of warning, we went into Bakewell one evening, it was £1 to park in the town after 6pm, a £1 well spent, as the traffic warden came round at 7:40pm and ticketed a car. We had all the seasons in one day never mind one week, but we really enjoyed our stay & will be back again soon.

Love this site

Love coming to Chatsworth but this time was a little disappointing as we received a call from warden asking if we will give up or booked awning pitch for non awning pitch for someone staying longer than our 2 nights. We agreed to do this and found on arrival we had been reserved a "beautiful " pitch for being accommodation. The so called beautiful pitch was in front of an outbuilding which caused early evening shadows and lack of any views. Next time we will not be so accommodation! Did not let this stop us from enjoying the beauty of Chatsworth. Pitch prices are above average but it's location location location.

Stunning

This site is well laid out and in excellent condition. It's in a stunning setting with fantastic local facilities. The only improvement I could recommend is a widening of the access lane

My first time at chatswoth!

Not sure what to expect at Chatswoth,, when on arrival the walden were very helpful an sort out a pitch ,, the pitches  are all very flat an easy to set up,, the toilet block was immaculate an clean, So! I couldn't fault the site ,, to top it orf,, you must visit the Chatswoth house, it was an eye opener an the discount made it a lot better,, the only downer was the weather , snow rain an sunshine,, but that's not the sites fault,, I'll be seeing you all next year,, Red ,,

Beautiful site with fantastic setting

Arrived at the site to a lovely cheery welcome. One point if you are a novice caravaner/tower, be careful when entering the site as mentioned, as few passing spaces and a small bridge right by site for you to navigate through. We had no problem, as my other half (experienced) was towing. I would have been a bit nervous tackling this myself, so be aware of which way you enter this site too, as sat nav can take you over lots of dales and bumps! Check it out first. On the way back we went north before south to avoid certain areas with a caravan in tow. Having said that, of no concern for the experienced caravaner. You arrive at a beautiful landscape and unspoilt setting. The site plots are not regimented and very attractive. More so when the flora and fauna take their mark on the place. So far this has to be my favourite club site. The staff are friendly and extremely helpful.  The whole site is clean and tidy. The shop, providing useful caravan essentials that you may need, or have forgotten as most reasonable prices. Even the odd tool on hand to help fix a problem. Thank you and much appreciated. There is something for everyone here. The secret door to Chatsworth House at the edge of the caravan park is a must. Turn left to Boswell and right to Chatsworth House. A very easy 15 minute walk and a massive save on parking and eco friendly. Enjoy fellow caravaners/motor homers.
