Officially homeless

The setting of the site is hard to beat, but the staff have been outstanding, going out of their way to help us. We had just sold our house and move temporarily (we hope) into our van, we were not as organised as usual. The girls helped extend our stay, borrowed an electric drill and Angie even gave us an onion from her own store. Guys and girls thank you, you helped us when our focus was elsewhere.

One of the best

As a disabled member I found the site disabled facilities excellent. The wardens helped far past their remit and arrangements for my oxygen supplies was well taken care of, enabling me to enjoy another caravan holiday. Thank you all. The Park could be more wheelchair friendly but that is not the site fault.

Friendly Site with excellent facilities

I met up with friends & stayed for 7 nights encountering some lovely sunny days, but also torrential rain and hail with a heavy frost covering ! As an independent wheelchair user & solo traveller, the staff were superb on arrival & organised my logistics to make things as easy as possible. The wheelchair access to the grounds were easy ( there were enough people around to help with unlocking the gate when I was by myself) & I used the site access road to  get back into the village to eat & get to the local shop. There is a 24 hour pay at pump supermarket filling station 11 miles away. The shop reception has most everyday bits you need also and the staff were friendly and helpful. The facilities were excellent & watching the ducks, ducklings, pheasants and other wildlife wander past your van is an added bonus. I can see why so many fellow guests were telling my that they visit this site once or twice a year !

Enjoyable stay

I recently met up with friends in their motorhomes at Chatsworth CS and stayed on site for 6 nights. The staff were very friendly and efficient, coordinating the arrival of motorhomes/caravans very effectively. The shower block and washing up area were always very clean and tidy, the information centre and on site shop were well stocked. Whilst there are many places to visit in the area, I didn't move my van off site enjoying the walks around the Chatsworth estate, visiting the house etc. and having some very enjoyable meals/drinks at The Wheatsheaf in Baslow which took us 15 minutes to walk to along the main campsite road. I will definitely book in again if I am in the area and there is space, as the site always looks to be busy/full. Thankyou.

Inconsiderate parents

Lovely campsite and in a beautiful location. We really enjoyed the various attractions nearby. The only thing that slightly spoilt the holiday was a family with children who thought it was o.k. to allow the children to run round our caravan while we were sat outside reading. It creates an atmosphere if you ask the children not to play round your pitch, which we did. We purposely booked the holiday during school term time and did not expect school aged children on site. While recognising that the club attempts to cater for all, it would be nice if the club set out some ground rules for families respecting other peoples peace and quiet especially during school term time.

Post Easter Break

More vans than expected on check in, but wardens had an efficient system to avoid congestion. Site clean & tidy. Location great for everything to do with Peak District. Cycling or walking through the Park is good. Local SPAR shop in Baslow well stocked. This is my second time on site, I went last year and no doubt will go next year.
