Enjoyable stay as usual

We stayed for four nights, site was lovely and clean. We asked to be near facilities due to mobility problems and were sited next to the amenities block. The Warden was very helpful. Convenient public footpath nearby for dog walking. Will be back.

Lovely stopover site

We stayed at this site for a couple of nights. Although it’s only a mile or so off the motorway, it’s in a lovely location in the countryside - it’s hard to believe you’re so close to Birmingham and Solihull. Friendly wardens and spotlessly clean.

One night turned in to two

We stopped here on our way to Wales for one night. The staff were very friendly, relaxed and helpful and we were allowed to select our pitch. The shower facilities were excellent and because we enjoyed it so much we stayed again on our way home. Everything was to a high standard and very enjoyable.

Ideal for Velo Birmingham

We stayed for four nights over the weekend for Velo Birmingham (24th September 2017). We had to leave the site very early on the Sunday morning to head off to Velo parking at Edgbaston Cricket Ground - only 15-20 mins drive away. The site was very secure for our bikes and the swipe barrier access could be used at all hours. We used a fully serviced pitch which was great and could not fault the facilities there. What I did like was the fresh herb pots, we could help ourselves to, near the information summerhouse. On the Saturday for the Velo "sign on" we walked to the local train station and got a day return ticket into Birmingham for just under £7.00 for us both.

Very enjoyable stay

We couldn't fault this site and after reading some of the more negative reviews, we were nervous of what we were to find. The site was easy to find from the motorway. The pitches were well spaced and amenities clean and well maintained. We had day trips to The Black Country museum, Drayton manor and Cadbury world plus a visit to the Transport museum next door. I also worked out a good running route which was a bonus. The farm shop up the road has a good selection and there was a Aldi and Sainsbury's nearby aswell. Out only criticism was that the play area could do with some swings and a climbing frame for the smaller children.

Great site, not too friendly

Hurts to write this one. Had a seasonal here for 10 years and loved it. Great location and the farm shop around the corner does amazing food!! Bakery and butchers are great. Sadly the site was let down by one of the wardens. She was pretty abrupt and sharp on arrival when we asked for a late stay (bike race in Birmingham closed all routes to our storage). Felt like I was asking for a free night not 2 extra hours! More disappointing was the phone call 2 hours after I'd left to ask when I was leaving because they were about to charge me another night!! I was actually reversing into a tight space in storage at the time. No apology when I pointed out that our gate card was actually handed to said grumpy warden. I would have thought a quick walk or bike ride around the site would have been better than a call from the office. Sad, great site, great location and a couple of good wardens but let down by one who doesn't believe in customer service!

Fab site!

Stayed twice here on this great site as an overnight stop en route and returning from our holidays. We only wanted a 'without awning' pitch and the warden pointed out that this was on the tarmac area. She told us if we were unhappy with this, then we could change. To be honest, I am not sure why others complain about this; we were only staying for one night, we were on the pitch for less than 24 hours and basically, we regarded it as somewhere quick and easy to pitch up and be away as quietly and quickly as possible the following morning. We were more than happy! Perhaps, these pitches could be offered at a better discounted rate, to keep people happy?? We found all the facilities - toilets, showers, dishwashing area to be well kept and spotless. Lovely friendly wardens, what's not to like?

Lovely quite site for the NEC.

We loved our 2 night stay at Chapel Lane. Friendly staff, with clear communication. The site was lovely and quite, just what we needed after the busyness of the NEC. Everywhere was clean and tidy, inside and out. Highly recommend.

Pretty site in a great location

We came here for the late August Bank Holiday not quite knowing what to expect having seen some of the earlier reviews. The site was almost full. We found Chapel Lane to be a pretty, well maintained site with level pitches and good facilities. On a couple of mornings the toilet blocks looked as if a herd of animals had visited overnight but that is no reflection on the wardens who had to clean the mess up and appeared to do so quite cheerfully. We have only recently purchased our motorhome and Chapel Lane is only the 5th. site we have been to and we found it to be well up to the standard we expected from our experience at other sites. Don't let the bad reviews put you off coming, the location is great and there is so much to see and do in the surrounding area.

Best for dogs

The campsite is next to the St Anna church. Immediately behind the church turn right to the grain fields. Then you can circle around the grain fields on the right or left, about 30 to 45 minutes. For the dog-man-team a paradise walk!
