We wanted to come again after last year's visit and arranged this again to coincide with the Yorkshire Coast 10K Race in Scarborough which I took part in. It's firmly our favourite northern site.
Although only the bottom half of the site is open in October, it's still expansive with plenty of capacity. The lower shower block is brilliant - modern, warm and with all the expected facilities. Bus stops outside the site go towards Filey and Bridlington in one direction, and to Scarborough in the other. And the buses are every 30 minutes or so - fantastic for getting off for the day, or coming back from a walk on. Or the pub, or both ;-).
The site team were fantastic too - they kept a close eye on everything and it was all neat and tidy. We're not fans of the new central bin areas although appreciate it's a central CAMC thing rather than the site team. With the darker evenings now upon us, the bins area down by the entrance could do with some lighting - or like me you take a head torch to see which bin is which!
We will definitely be back again in 2025 - well done to all the team at Cayton. You have a site you can be proud of
Large site in seaside location
Large site on 2 levels with fabulous toilet blocks with everything you need. Great dog walk which goes round the upper part of the site and fully fenced so dogs can go off lead. Bus stop at site entrance to go into Scarborough and Bridlington and nice walk to Cayton beach. Also places to eat and shop in the village with supermarkets/shops nearby. The only thing we didn’t like were the central bins idea as they are near the entrance which is a long walk from the upper part of the site. On such a large site it would be better to have another central bin location on the upper part of the site near the toilet block. A lot of people don’t always go out in their vehicles and can take their rubbish in their to drop off at the central area, so it makes a long trek every day to drop off your rubbish. Also if you do take it down in the vehicle, you then have the trouble of parking to drop it off. It would cost some extra bin bags with a second location but it can be collected at the same time as bins are emptied at the upper toilet block (internal bins in the washrooms etc.)so it wouldn't cost any extra man hours. I totally agree with central bin locations on a small site as they’re usually near to the toilet block and rubbish can be dropped off when you go to wash up or shower etc. but not a large site with 2 levels.

Large site good location
Cayton village is a large site split into two fields both kept immaculately clean and tidy as are the toilet blocks.
There are some ongoing building works(new houses) nearby with the usual associated noises but these didn't bother us too much.
My only gripe is the 'central' located bins are definitely not central being near the entrance, a long walk from the top field! There has to be a better solution surely?
Dry recycling and bottles don't need bin bags and could still be collected from service points?

Cayton Bay
Very nice stay again at Cayton Bay .
But the noise from the building site development next to the premium pitches was totally unexpected especially when they started working at 7.10am .!!
Perhaps you should warm members before they book , or indeed offer a discount for the pitches which are affected by the ongoing works .
Highly recommended
Fantastic Stay, - the staff are an absolute credit to the site and could not be more friendly or helpful. One of the best shower blocks we have had and always spotless. The bank holiday weekend events planned on site were a very welcomed added bonus. We will certainly be back again. Goes without saying it is one of the best sites we have stayed on.
My stay at Cayton Bay
I have stayed here lots of times, and always had a fantastic time. This year however was very different. I had called ahead as I had no internet, I was told that they had no availability for the 4 days I wanted to stay. Later that day I was on a bus, and as I had internet I checked the site, and they had availability and therefore I booked up. Apparently they had an event on the following Saturday, And were running around trying to get this up and running. I believe they just didn't check when I called because the event was taking up all their time. I arrived and parked up, but noticed people just kept walking across my pitch and dragging, water carriers etc across the gravel. I went out, but all they did was walk on the grass right next to my seating area. This to me is very disrespectful. I have never cut across, and always used the roads. I knew the toilet closing time for cleaning, so went to shower at the at the top of the site on my last day. It closes late afternoon. When I got there it was also closed. The woman cleaning the toilets asked if I had left something in the showers, which I replied "I thought these toilets closed later". she said "yes they do, but we have a big event on and are cleaning both toilet at the same time". I got the impression that nothing else matter but the event. This spoilt my trip, and hopefully a polite reminder by staff, will stop people cutting through other peoples pitches. My trip to Cayton was lovely and the walk from Filey to Scarborough on the Cleveland way was beautiful. I will be back ,but not when the English school holiday's are on, Plus a on site event.
Thank you!
The site itself is just great. Everything you expect from a club site! Lots of children around including a group of late primary/early secondary boys and girls playing football. This group made my younger child's holiday by involving him in the game and allowing him to join in. Thank you 😊
Wonderful 5 day break
After a van breakdown en route, John was so helpful and accommodating. The pitch was huge, with ehu and close proximity to all the facilities.
The site is immaculate, and those small attentions to detail really make it. Help yourself herb garden, Bugingham Palace ( bug house ), well stocked, reasonably priced shop, excellent information hut, and a cracking snack bar on site.
The toilet / shower block was spotlessly clean, and a regular bus ( every 20 mins ) literally at the site entrance.
Leisurely half hour walk to the beach and a 5 minute walk into the quaint village, with 2 excellent pubs, a chip shop, post office and village shop.
Will definitely be returning.

Great site in a great location.
Visited the Cayton Village Club site for the first time last weekend, and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We are quite new to motor homing, and this was only our 4th trip out. The facilities were great, the site is lovely and mature, with nice landscaping, making the site feel cosy, although it is fairly large. Toilets and showers were lovely and clean. Staff were helpful and always had a smile and a wave as they passed by. We were given a choice of pitches, and picked one on the lower level of the site, it was a fairly nice pitch, but it was next to the chemical toilet emptying point point and water tap, so next time I will avoid this, as it was less private as some other pitches we could have had, and also the smell from people emptying into the Elsan point was a little unpleasant at times, but this was our fault for choosing this pitch, and no fault of the site.
The location is great for people without a car, just a pleasant 20 minute stroll to the lovely Cayton Bay, which has a great beach with lots of rockpools to explore, which our dog loved. The site is also only a short walk from the village, where there are a couple of nice pubs. We are looking forward to visiting again.
Noisy in school holidays
Been here a few times, lovely clean and tidy site. Lovely wardens. Shower and toilet block is excellent.
Problem for us was kids. Lovely to see them out and not sitting on phones or gaming but please show respect. Running across and between pitches all the time as well as around the glamping areas plus don’t adhere to the noise curfew at night. Will be back but outside of school holidays
