The friendliest wardens.

We've been members for over 22 years and the wardens are the friendliest we've ever met. We are staying on a seasonal pitch, the site is quite and has the quickest tumble dryer. It's just a short walk to the village, where you can get fresh baked bread, or better yet, eat at one of the many pubs & hotels. A very good site.

My first time

I bought a secondhand motorhome late last year and the time had come to try it out, I called Castleton caravan club and booked for my first 1 night stay to trial my new motorhome out. I had a few teething problems but people were very friendly and wanted to help. The site is excellent and clean within very easy reach of the village centre. Lots of pubs, walks and caverns to visit and a castle as well. All in all I had a great first experience and will definitely be back very soon. Many thanks

A Winters Stay

We had tried for a number of weeks to book this weekend, kept on checking the web & must have manage to pick up a cancellation 2 weeks before Valentine's, we had a fantastic weekend, A friendly Warden, the site didn't disappoint, tipically to Caravan Club Standards, but I must say the site had the hottest showers that we have experienced on any site, which was a welcome reward after a 2 hr early morning Bike ride at -2 Deg, Castleton is a 5/10min walk with lots of pubs & shops, some nice walks. We will be back.

Beautiful

We stayed here at the beginning of February just for 2 nights. We arrived after a very blustery journey to find a very nice sheltered site. We only stayed 2 nights as a bit of a rest weekend and didn't explore too much, although we saw the hundreds od people that did with their dogs. The village is a short walk and full of cafes, pubs and gift shops. During our stay we was blessed enough to have a short flurry of snow which made our day, although not enough to get snowed in to our dismay. We will definitely be back.

Pleasant, peaceful site

We arrived late on a Friday and the site, even in February, was already fairly full. Despite this at no time did the site feel overly busy and in fact was at all times peaceful and inviting. The site is immaculate in every respect and although the toilet/wash block would benefit from an update the facilities are more than acceptable.  The wardens are warm, friendly and accommodating without being intrusive and definitely improve the experience. As has been said before, Castleton and Hope are close by, certainly within walking distance with many options for supplies, food and drink between them. A special mention for 'Curry Cabin' located in Hope, if you are looking for an excellent Indian meal I would advise taking a look. All I all, a first class weekend at a site we shall certainly visit again soon.

Love Love LOVE this site...

Our second visit in the last 6 months. I just love it here. The wardens are absolutely fantastic, friendly, hard working and cannot do enough for you. My kids (well 16 year olds) love it too as there is a "games" room with table tennis and pool table and when they weren't arguing over who was the best, took their GCSE books in and revised affording mum, dad and dog some precious quiet time. Pub quiz and bingo at the Nag's Head was good fun as before and we travelled to Hathersage for an outstanding Indian mean during the bleakest hailstorm we've had all year the night after. Managed to get a weekend in August on feeding frenzy day so can't wait to fire up the bbq and enjoy the countryside a bit more. It was torrential whilst we were there but it really didn't matter a jot!

our First time in our motor home

it was our first outing in our new(to us) motor home so understandably we was nervous whether we had remembered all the checks we needed to do. We need not have worried as the staff here were excellent. We got sound advise and the warden even came to check on us and encourage us. Thanks for a fantastic stay at a lovely well appointed site which was so clean with loads of loos definitely a step up from camping!! visiting again in july.
