Lovely friendly greeting upon on arrival. Site and facilities spotless. Great location for seeing the peaks area, and just a short walk in to the lovely village of castleton with its shops, cafes and pubs. Will definitely be visiting this site again.
Still among the best.
We spent a lovely peaceful week here recently and as usual it was impeccable, we love this site and the walks are wonderful with stunning scenery, it is one of our favourite club sites and we continue to visit year after year. The pubs and restaurants in the village are dog friendly and serve fantastic food, well worth a visit after a long walk.
Curious Castleton
Visited here in June 16. Castleton village is a pleasant short walk from the site. Great for both cycling & walking especially along the "Mam tor" hill & ridge along the back of the site. Plenty of Pubs, Caves & scenery. Pleasant helpful wardens with clean a tidy facilities. Site does feel a little crammed when pitches are full. Don't let that put you off though,- well worth a visit.
Brilliant
Just got back from there and thoroughly enjoyed it.
The staff were so friendly and helpful. A quick walk into town to the pubs Friday night then a great walk up mamtor. Bbq sat night. Great location friendly and clean.
Only downside not a great dog walk on site.
Lovely site
Just stayed three nights and enjoyed the experience the site is best described gently sloping surrounded by mature trees so if your a sun lover choose your pitch carefully. Wardens were helpful and polite and although the weather was very hot the site did not suffer from the open window and loud televisions scenario in fact it was almost silent in the evening . If you like your gadgets it's one of the few sites I have been to where you get a strong mobile signal on the 3 network . Fellow campers were very friendly and full of the caravan club spirit - had a great time !

Great location - very crowded
This site is in a great location. The views around Castleton itself are fantastic - its a pity that these views cannot be seen from the site, due to abundant tall trees. In fairness these trees do a great job of disguising the site from higher ground surrounding the site.
The facilities are clean and just about sufficient to cater for this busy site. For us the site is far too crowded and as other have commented, it is like living in a goldfish bowl.

Couldn't have asked for more
My partner and I stayed at Castleton August Bank Holiday weekend on our way up to the Cumbrian/Scottish border.
Check in was quick and efficient and the staff at reception were very welcoming and friendly.
The site was almost full yet lovely and peaceful and spotlessly clean. The location was beautiful and perfect for a short walk to Peveril Castle and into town for our evening meal in the pub. Would definitely stay here again.
Our Favourite Site
We came here on our maiden voyage as novice caravaners last year and returned again earlier this year. We think it's a great site in stunning countryside and just outside the village so it's easy to find good pub grub and a fabulous bakery! Access is a doddle and facilities clean and well maintained. Wardens are friendly and do a great job looking after the site. If you love all the Peak District has to offer then Castleton is a great place to stay. As it's less than a hour from home we will be back again and again!
Lovely Site
This site till remains one of our favorite sites and the wardens are so friendly and work so hard to keep the out of date shower block clean but the shower pressure is awful in some of the showers I do hope they're on the clubs lists of improvements to do. Castleton is such a great place though, plenty to do in the area and loads of great walks from the site that's why we keep coming back.
Pretty Castleton
Just returned from two short trips to this site, one on the way up to the Yorkshire Dales and one on the return to break up our journey. The site is very well looked after with pitches to offer shade or sun, depending on your choice. Well kept with lovely flowers and a very useful doggy shower for our two muddy doggies after a long walk over the hills. The four wardens on site were extremely helpful and friendly giving us good advice about the local walks and amenities. Castleton is a short walk from the site entrance with several good dog friendly pubs that serve lovely local ales, tea rooms, little shops, fish and chip shop and a fab bakers (their cheese and onion topped pork pie was amazing). The caves in the village also allow dogs entry which is lovely and inclusive for us dog owners. The views from the castle ruins and the walk up the pass behind the castle was lovely on a warm but windy day. The scenery through Winnats Pass is a must but DO NOT take this route with your caravan as too steep and narrow in places. Morrisons in Chapel-en-le-Frith is a decent size with all your essentials and petrol is cheaper here than anywhere else we found. The site is a great location for walking the hills or exploring the local caves, the Blue John Cavern being one of the systems to tour. A lovely site and so nice to find a site within walking distance of such a pretty village.
