Very helpful wardens

Stayed recently for a couple of nights whilst en route to Norfolk. Site very busy and convenient for excellent bus service into Cambridge. Very warm welcome from wardens Marc & Tina. Had a technical problem whilst on site and Marc cheerfully came with a selection of tools and sorted it out for us after helping another couple with their own issue. They always had a friendly wave as they went about their duties and made everybody welcome. Apart from a little noise in the evening from nearby sports centre the site was very peaceful. Definitely worth a longer visit to explore the area..

Gem of a site that is unique

I stayed on this site for 7 nights and they were delightful. The site has a unique layout of several different sections, I stayed down a steep but small hill in a valley. I was traveling on my own as a disabled single lady and the wardens could not have been more helpful. The site and facilities are clean and well laid out. The park and ride is close by as is a bus stop. I easily drove into the town center which is very given over to cycles and electric scooters and food delivery people. There is a super market to visit and of course all of the colleges and the river. We also found Trumpton Meadows which was a delight. There is also a large retail park very close by. Coming back to the site was great, it was an oasis where you could not hear the traffic, even though the main roads were close by. Everyone was friendly and there were dog walks and cycle paths close by. if you want to explore Cambridge and Ely this site is ideal.

Peaceful site, extremely kind and helpful wardens

A lovely peaceful site, great pitch and made to feel very welcome whilst travelling with our three dogs. We had a problem with the electrics in our van whilst there and the warden came and helped us, after hours, along with a fellow motorhomer as well. The warden couldn’t have been friendlier, always giving us a wave and coming over to pet the dogs when he saw us. All in all, a lovely stay and will definitely be returning.

Hidden gem

We stayed for two nights on this site in August. The wardens were so friendly and helpful. The facilities were well maintained and clean, and the site was quiet and peaceful. We used the local buses which stop nearby to travel in to Cambridge and also we walked along a footpath into Cambridge one day. We cycled from the site to Anglesey Abbey on the cycle paths with which Cambridge is well provided, and on to Wicken Fen (both National Trust). We will definitely return for another, longer visit soon.

Very handy for Cambridge

Spent 3 nights here in August and were lucky to have glorious weather. It feels like a small site as it is divided into separate small fields. The buses run into Cambridge every 10 minutes from just outside the site. Cherry Hinton itself has a few shops and a couple of pubs serving food. Will definitely be returning.

Convenient Small Site

We had a lovely welcome when we arrived and, as there is no round circuit for the caravan, we were invited to leave the caravan at the entrance and walk around and pick our pitch. Just prior to arriving at the site, a reckless van driver on the M11, had broken off our towing wing mirror and we had to get a replacement as a legal requirement. The lady warden was most helpful in trying to find a local accessory shop which was unfortunately not open. We however managed to purchase one online and paid for special delivery to us c/o Cherry Hinton Site for delivery next day. The warden was informed and agreed to this course of action. However, when the parcel was picked up the following day, a different lady warden was most unhelpful, stating that they did not accept parcels and that she had nearly sent it back! A bit officious and seemed to doubt any arrangement had been made, as she had not been informed by the original warden. A little bit more understanding would have been appreciated. The site is nicely tucked away and near a sports centre and airfield. Noise from the planes may annoy some people but as a flying enthusiast I didn't mind. We were pitched right below the next door sports centre but hardly noticed it was there. The site was looking a bit tired and could do with some TLC and running repairs. Road works just down the road from the site did cause some traffic hold-ups but hopefully they have now been completed.

Cambridge Review

Not long back from a few days staying here. A very well run site with nice friendly wardens who despite lot's of vans all checking in at the same time was on top of the job and so checking in was great. We walked into Cambridge on one day Geocaching and second time used the No 3 bus , some roadworks made getting the ride in a bit more difficult than it would be normally as closest stop was closed but it worked out in the end ok. Coming back zero problem. First time we have been on a public transport for a long time and the bus pass still worked.. If in the area would use site again.

Great stay

From the moment we pulled up we felt this is going to be a good holiday. Paul and Marie were Really welcoming and helpful also amazingly friendly. Always happy to see you and go above and beyond to make sure you have a great holiday. the way the site is set out makes a good atmosphere. Cycling into and around Cambridge was easy and safe. We spent 10 lovely days there and would recommend this site for caravan or Motorhome. Bus stop 5 minutes walk from site.we did our pwn cooking but other members recommended pubs near by. Park and ride 5 minutes away a bit cheaper but there is no path on the road to it. Thank you Wiltshire for the dumplings sorry if i nearly gave you a panic attack P.S you left you tutu in our caravan ha ha Great week The guys from Somerset

Great site convenient for Cambridge

Great site close to Cambridge (busses are very close and run every 10 minutes). The pitches are not on circular routes so there tends to be less traffic and people walking by. It was such a lovely quiet site. The wardens were very friendly and helpful. I enjoyed my three night stay here.
