This review is a little late coming but here we go!
We stayed at Cherry Hinton at the end of February. It was only our second trip so we were (and still are) novices. The hosts were absolutely brilliant. We didn’t have a hose for freshwater so they found one for us. We didn’t know how to do the toilet so that was explained. We even managed to tear the bottom of the grey water tank which they crawled under our motor home to fix (as well as anyone can fix a 6 inch gash!). Basically, nothing was too much. Aside from the hosts, the site was very well located for Cambridge, We cycled in every day. The facilities were immaculate which definitely set a very high bar for all future sites. We can’t speak highly enough of the site and the facilities.
Helpful wardens
We stayed here for two nights at the end of March this year in order to visit nearby Duxford. Lovely clean and tidy site with excellent facilities and very convenient for visiting Cambridge too. However on returning home my husband realised that our water filler cap on the van was missing and assumed that perhaps we had left it on site. A quick call to the wardens confirmed this and a few days later said cap was kindly posted back to us . Thank you so much and we will definitely be returning again soon.
Great site with excellent connections to City
Stayed here for one night to check the motorhome out before going abroad in April. Steepish descent (and exit) to this site in an old chalk quarry. Everything was well kept and clean and the wardens were very friendly and helpful. We were on pitch 3 just on the left down the slope and close to the facilities block. Think this must be one of the few club sites that does not have a one-way system. All the pitch areas are dead-ends! Choice of two frequent buses into Cambridge just a short walk away, as is the Robin Hood Pub which is good. This is an excellent site for a day out in Cambridge.
A really lovely place to stay.
Great place to visit Cambridge from, very well maintained, spotlessly clean, shower blocks nice and warm, friendly managers. This is one the nicest sites we have stayed at.
Quiet and clean site
We stayed at Cherry Hinton for two night when travelling north and a further night when going south. We found the site very clean and although its proximity to Cambridge it was very quiet. The people that run the site were very polite and friendly.
Requires hardstanding upgrade
We have visited this site many times due to the close proximity to the centre via a choice of buses which makes it excellent. The wardens were welcoming. The problem with the site, even after a small amount of rain, is that to access most of the hardstanding requires driving over a grass area to each pitch. As you might imagine, in the rain this becomes extremely dirty for the vehicle and access to anywhere on the site means walking through mud to get off your pitch. All the hardstanding like this at the site is in dire need of making them into full hardstanding areas by extending them to the road ways. We also had a vehicle next to us at 7am who couldn't start his motorhome and took several attempts to start the engine, which woke us up and was very selfish of them. If people know they have engine problems, perhaps it's better to try to repetitively start it later in the day.
A good site overall but needs work to make it more pleasant and habitable.

Wonderful short stay
We have stayed on this site before and the last two times have been really good, the change of wardens has made all the difference, so friendly and highly efficient. All amenities close by, choice of two bus routes makes it very easy to get into the city, take a walk along the backs or just browse the colleges, also good for shopping. We have always used the Robin Hood pub for meals (Greene King) and have seen the Botanical Gardens through the seasons, well worth a visit.
We shall be looking to return Sept/Oct see you all then

Great site and wardens
We stayed here for 3 weeks. The wardens Kevan and Di were great, we couldn’t of asked for anymore. From them. We had problems trying to register for Wi-Fi, so we went and spoke to Di. She had a look then phoned a helpline, after 20 minutes it was all sorted. We were on the disabled pitch which was next too the toilet block. The disabled toilet / shower room was immaculate as was the dishwashing area. The sight overall was perfect for our needs. The caravan club website shows the tv reception is poor for this sight, but we had a fantastic picture if anything it was a better picture than our tv at home. When we went for a walk around the site if we came across Kevan he would always stop and say hello and have a chat. Would definitely recommend this sight and will hopefully be coming back again.

Short break
Very warm and friendly welcome by the wardens. Gave out the information on bus timings, local shops and pubs/restaurants. There was some work going on at the site while we were there, and we had to move to another pitch due to electrical work going on at the site moving to the pitch we picked, it wasn’t really a problem, but it would have been good to have had that information before we arrived. The footpath from the site to the main road is a little tight and only suitable to walk in single file, and then keep well over to the hedge. Robin Hood put is ok good local ales if that’s what you like, bus service into Cambridge was good every 20 from outside the pub.
Not all quarries are this dark
Maybe in a heat wave I would appreciate this site but I found it too enclosed for my liking. I feel that there is a great need for the trees to be thinned. We found a small pitch on the top area but I would hate to be struck in the lower areas.
With so many trees, even birds were absent.
