First but by no means last!

We recently joined the Caravan Club and this was our first outing to one of their sites.  If this one is anything to go by our subscription will have been very well worthwhile. We have a good sized caravan and decided that we would go on a grass pitch rather than a hard standing, which gives one more of a feeling of being away from it all.  The grass pitches here are certainly excellent with plenty of space and are in a more secluded part of the site.  They do slope gently but not so much as to be any sort of a problem.  The facilities too are excellent with abundant showers and loos and easily accessible and well designed service points. The warden is extremely friendly and very helpful, allowing us to stay until well into the afternoon of our day of departure at no extra charge so that we could visit the Cotswold Wildlife Park just over the road.  We were only there two nights so were reluctant to depart.  We hope to visit there again soon for a longer break!

Our "go to" location

At the time of writing, I have just booked out third visit since last summer. We have recently returned to caravanning after a bit of a break and chose this site for our first visit last July. It's stunning. The wardens are lovely and so helpful. The only problem we have ever had is with dog owners on their way to the dog walk. They don't always pick up after their pets if they haven't quite made it in time. The children's play area is on the way and we always book near it so our grandson can play safely. Finding a little accident outside your awning is not the most welcome sight! Apart from that this site is 100%.

We love Burford

I really don't know how anyone could have a negative opinion of this site.  I was here too with the Rally right along side us and they did not make so much noise that I thought we should complain.  It's a family site not just a senior site.  The facilities are first class, clean, tidy and well maintained.   I will return here again and again, this is down to the staff being friendly, helpful and hard working.

Lovely & Peaceful

We spent the first weekend of the season at this site, it was their first weekend open. Despite this, everything was working as it should, the staff were immensely helpful, even when we arrived quite late, we were still taken to our pitch. The site itself is located opposite the Cotswold Wildlife Park, and the animals can be heard from the site, together with the local woodpeckers, and other wildlife around. Fabulously quiet, just what we needed after a hectic week. I'd definitely return, just to re-visit Burford High Street, and sample the delicious cream teas!

Lovely place to stay

Had a lovely weeks stay. Site clean and tidy. Wardens were really helpful for information about the zoo and places to eat. Plenty to see and do. Adams farm is worth a visit if you have little ones. Cotswold Wildlife park was brilliant - especially as there a a 4 day old baby rhino! Pick up leaflet in the infromation site about things to see and do in the Cotswolds and it has lots of free vouchers!

A great base to explore Oxford

Friendly and helpful site staff and a lovely clean and tidy peaceful site for us as a family of 5. The site staff helped us sort out an extra night over the busy Easter Bank Holiday weekend which was really kind of them. Cotswold Wildlife Park is directly opposite and well worth a visit - take a picnic as food is expensive in there (£3.50 for a sausage roll). The site sells Cotswold Wildlife Park tickets at about a 15% discount (cash only) - a great result as I couldn't find them cheaper anywhere else on the internet. Burford is an absolute delight and a 5 minute drive from the site - recommend Huffkins for afternoon tea on the left hand side as you go down the hill into Burford. Perfect base for exploring Oxford - we went in 3 days running using the Pear Tree Park and Ride (OX2 8JD) - £2 to Park and £2.25 per adult return ride into Oxford (children free). Recommend Oxford Castle Unlocked (on Tesco Clubcard Days Out Vouchers), and the free museums: Ashmolean, Oxford University Museum of Natural History and Pitts Rivers Museum. Christ Church College is worth a visit too for Harry Potter fans and to experience inside a college complete with it's own cathedral.  Also worth a punt is a trip on the river, £25 for a 30 minute chauffeured punt at Magdalen Bridge is well worth a go - very relaxing peace and quiet in the heart of the city. For £20 you can take one out yourself for an hour. Finally, if you need caravan/motorhome parts/accessories, CTC in Witney which is 15 mins away is great - an Alladin's cave of bits and pieces, don't be put off by the auto-jumble look! Overall, recommended site and will be making a return as feel have only just scraped the surface of what this area and Oxford has on offer.

Good Weekend

We stayed for two nights last weekend and wished we had booked for longer.  Very pleasant and helpful staff.  Good sized pitches with plenty of room between you and any neighbour. Quiet site and lovely listening to animals from neighbouribg wildlife park. Burford a delight and three supermarkets in nearby Carterton  Will certainly been going back again.

Being short...... Rubbish!

We enjoyed our week in the Cotswolds and this was a good base for some nice days out. Burford was a lovely town and the zoo was great (first zoo we have taken the dogs around!!) we also liked listening to the lions in the evening. We would like to see the showers upgraded to the new slightly wider benches allowing you to get changed without having to balance like a Russian gymnast!!!!! We would also like the fencing of the dog walk to be completed beside the new gate.   Our biggest concern was the commercial style wheelie bins that were in the service points.  These are not the nicest things to look at and are too tall to allow children to help their Mum and Dad with the holiday chores, even Mummy struggled to lift the lid!! We appreciate this makes wardening easier but it's not ideal for families or shorter adults!

Disabled facilities heating

Overall we enjoyed our 3 night stay. however, on the first morning it was obvious that the heating in the excellent disabled facility was not working. This was reported. Still not working on the second morning of a very cold spell. On the third morning, I gave up and returned to the warmth of the van. There will almost certainly be users of this facility who could be seriously affected by this fault. Otherwise, a good stay on a site previously used.

What a treat to stay on this site:

Stayed in March 2015 for the first time. Certainly wont be the last! Friendly welcoming staff. Facilities are excellent and spotless. Pitches are large with loads of green space around and a backdrop of trees. In the evening we could occasionally hear the animals from the Wildlife Park Opposite. If you want to visit the Cotswolds this is the site to come to. Would definitely recommend.
