Almost always great, but this time.....

We stopped here for a long weekend recently with our two young children  (our friends were also on site with their two children).  The site is beautiful with clean facilities and a nice selection of different types and locations of pitches.  The wildlife park opposite is a great bonus.  We have stayed here many times before without any problems but this time we were unlucky with our choice of neighbours! They were an older couple with family also staying on site in a tent.  Unfortunately they decided to play music loudly in the evening and generally be rather rowdy (fuelled by quite a few bottles of alcohol), keeping our two young children awake and generally spoiling the peace.  I'm not a killjoy and like to think that people can enjoy themselves on holiday, but a little consideration to neighbours would be appreciated.   This does seem to be a growing problem on sites as we have witnessed it several times recently on our after dinner walks around sites with our children before they go to bed.  If you want to play loud music please have a bit more thought for your neighbouring caravans or motorhomes who maybe have arrived for a peaceful holiday!

Excellent Holiday

Just returned today from this lovely clean site with excellent facilities and very helpful friendly wardens. The site is in the heart of the Cotswolds with beautiful towns and villages only a short drive away. The wildlife park opposite the site is a must for families and you get a reduction on admission prices if paid for before arrival at the caravan site office. Bibury trout farm was great catch your own trout and cook it on your BBQ for tea our kids loved this. Would highly recommend this site well worth a visit.

Lovely stay

Lovely site. Good size pitches and plenty of room between you and the next pitch. Location was ok personally I would have liked to have been closer to the town had to drive to every where.

Wonderful holidays

We just came back home from a wonderful and peaceful stay in Buford. We enjoyed it very much and we will certainly try to spend our holidays there another year. We had a long journey from Switzerland but it was definitely worse it. Thank you very much.

PERFECT FOR THE COTSWOLDS

I have just returned from a three night stay at this site and wish I had the time to have stayed longer. Very big pitches spread out with plenty to choose from.  As expected the facilities were excellent and the wardens very friendly. With RAF Brize Norton only a few miles away it is hardly surprising that you get low flying aircraft, but this did not prove to be to noisy and finished each day by late afternoon. The nearby village of Burford is a must for a visit with lovely shopping and more places to eat that you could wish for.  Parking tip at Burford, on the left side as you enter the village, parking is free and unlimited, whilst on the opposite side it is restricted to 2 hours and is strictly enforced. There is also a large free car park at the bottom of the hill just as you are leaving Burford. Only slight downside was that we use G3 wi-fi (as opposed to club fi-fi) which has no coverage in this area. Very entertaining to hear the wildlife from the park directly opposite, would we return - definitely, this is a great site and perfect for exploring the Cotswolds

Another very pleasant stay

We do like this site.  This was our fifth visit and was for four nights to coincide with the RIAT weekend at RAF Fairford as one of us was on the Bloodhound SSC stand at RIAT.   The facilities were well up to expectations with friendly wardens, a spotless shower block and will kept grounds.  Our only complaint was that the wi-fi not working.  This rather spoiled the weekend as we were unable to receive an important email about access to RIAT or to download the local geocaches from the Geocaching website.  It was rather annoying, particularly as we had paid for the service.    We were also rather disappointed with the chips from the visiting van.  Last time we were there the chips were the best that we have ever eaten.  This time there was a different firm and the chips were a bit soggy and undercooked.  Not the fault of the site, we know.

Great site

We stayed for 5 nights to get away from home for a while. The site is as clean as a new pin and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The shower block was clean and well maintained and central to the site. They have a useful shop and I would recommend the burgers, they were so good. An excellent array of goods and necessary articles. Noisy weekend because of the RIAT at Fairford and the aircraft flying overhead. But not too intrusive and it's only once a year. We only left the site to visit the wildlife park which is opposite and a good tip is to buy your tickets at the site shop before you leave as they are discounted. A great site for all-comers.

Lovely, well kept site

We stayed at this site with our 5 year old grand daughter.  the site is very nice and very well kept.  the shower and toilet block was immaculate with a dry area for dressing.  The bonus was that the shower wasn't on a timer!  We enjoyed a lovely day at Cotswold Wildlife Park which is within walking distance of the site.  We can recommend the Cotswold Arms - a 5 minute drive from the site on the roundabout.  Food was very good.

Well located

I only stayed one night en route to Art in Action. The site seems very well located for exploring the Cotswolds and Oxford areas. Being able to walk over into the Cotswold Wildlife Park is amazing! My pitch was on the road side of the site but I didn't find the noise intrusive - and there were occasional low flights overhead, presumably into RAF Brize Norton, but they stopped as it got dark. The facilities were very tidy and clean and the tourist information was extensive. My only gripe is that the wifi was down. There were notices posted all over the site apologising for the situation, and it was just one of those things. Oh, and the site has beautiful trees - I was parked under a cherry tree and had ripe cherries falling on the roof overnight: much pinging onto the roof and leaving sticky juice trails - and also the local pigeons were pigging out above, with obvious consequences! I'd return to the site for a longer stay another time, without a doubt.
