Nice selection of pitches. Facilities good but the shower water pressure was poor. When all the showers were in use the water just dibbled out. Mentioned it to a Warden who seemed surprised but another reviewer has also commented on low water pressure. The Cotswold Wildlife Park is great and well worth a visit, get your tickets at reception for a good discount. Burford is a car drive away, nothing close to walk to. Good childrens play area. Fast food options visit the site 3 days per week. Only had the fish and chips, which was great.
Lions roar at night
A large site with good selection of pitches. Stayed 3 nights solo with my caravan (+dog) 24-27 June during the 'heatwave'/summer. Perfect short off-lead dog walking area for my arthritic companion and convenient dog poo bin at gate. Extremely helpful site staff (Gary) who reminded me what 5mph was and solved the electric supply issue (twist it!). Enjoyed chilling on site and listening to the animals gobble, growl and grunt from the wildlife park opposite. Had to get in vehicle to go anywhere that sold anything substantial. Visited Clarkson's Diddly Squat Farm - fab IPA but £6/pint. Burford had everything else. Site facilities definitely clean enough for my taste but I don't mind the obvious presence of one or two other bodies. The shower was better than home and there was hot water - what's not to like?
I would recommend Burford but be aware the site is out of town and the free wi-fi is poor.
A lovely site in the Cotswolds although needs slight improvement
Burford is a lovely site that is well placed to see some wonderful places in the Cotswolds. The animal park across the road is brilliant for adults and children. Reduced tickets from reception on the day of your visit do save quite a bit of money and it's an easy walk on foot from the site itself. Other great places to visit include Burford itself, Diddly Squat farm shop, Bourton-on-the-water, Chedworth Roman Villa, Oxford and plenty more. Monica's Plaice in Lechlade-on-Thames was excellent for Fish'n'Chips and more, we went there twice during our stay. It's about a 10 min drive and it's piping hot food so enough time to come back to site and eat whilst still hot. You can also order everything online and set your own collection time too.
The site itself is nicely laid out. The managers are warm and welcoming and always have a kind word to say. The free Wifi is good and phone reception was okay for us on the O2 network. The main toilet facilities are bright, plenty of space, never seem busy and are spotlessly clean as expected. Our only issue would be the disabled washroom. It seemed to be a popular room and would often be quite smelly. There wasn't any ventilation system in there and just the smallest opening in the window caused the smells to build up during the day. After a shower, the dampness in the air lingered, making everything wet. The shower seat attached to the wall was disappointingly dirty for our entire stay. When folded, it had ridges underneath that were filled with dirty water and debris, the legs were rusty and sharp in places. It needs replacing but when it has been, there needs to be more attention to cleaning the underside of it as it really was disgusting and nothing that a simple pressure wash couldn't sort. There was a very rusty hand rail in there too but this was replaced during our stay. The disabled room would benefit from a twice daily clean perhaps and certainly needs better ventilation.
Overall a great site with just some issues to sort in the disabled bathroom. If you don't need this facility though, the rest of the site is lovely and well worth a visit.

Nice site, but very poor tv and phone signal
It does say on the info form that some of the plug in tv sockets don't boost, but not which ones, you only find out when you've pitched up,too late then! phone signal is very poor too, maybe let us know in advance which power poles work, not important for everyone I know, but it is for some, and could do with some more water taps, other than these gripes,a nice relaxing site

Lovely peaceful site
Though we had a relaxing weekend at Burford club site ..
A bit disappointed.. The site is more suited for caravaners or just a MH night stay over. Burford itself is 2 miles away .. so over an hr walk .. So you really need a car or bikes .. Shilton village is a 25 minute walk away down a country lane .. lovely Pub there .. Rose and Crown … beautiful little pub with lovely though pricey food. Wildlife park opposite which seeing the queues of cars/people gave it a miss… we have 2 dogs .. on-site dog walks very small though I went across the main road and found a couple of fields to walk them in … showed block ok… bit dirty and very hit and miss … had 1 reasonable shower following day there was no pressure and it was just a dribble … site managers were friendly and reception have a small selection of basic goods …
A little disappointing.
Visited in June for a week.Good points. Great location for wildlife park and visiting the area by car.
Bad points. toilet block looking very tired but that does not excuse the condition of it directly after it had been cleaned.Whilst the toilets and sinks were clean the shower floor was disgusting.According to my wife hair was left in the female showers in the floor grill. In the gents where you step down into the shower there was a build up of dirt in the corner which could be moved with your feet. I checked the other showers which were the same. They really need a deep clean once a week. The grass is unkept.
In contrast we moved from there to Swiss Farm at Henley on Thames for 8 days where the facililities are first class, Pub on site, swimming pool and fishing.Easy walk into Henley and it was £35 cheaper. I am seriously thing of leaving the Caravan Club.
Fabulous Site!!
We stayed here in June 2024 over a weekend.
It’s a great site, located directly next door to the magical Cotswold Wildlife Park, easily accessed on foot from the site.
The historic town of Burford is less that 2 miles away, vehicle access required really due to busy road between the two.
The town is lovely offering plenty of eateries and refreshment opportunities as well as that wonderful Cotswold experience with many wonderful independent shops to explore.
On site, the facilities are lovely, clean and warm and the friendly helpful wardens maintain that standard every day. It’s a site we’ve been to many times before and I’m sure we will return to in the future.
On this trip, we had booked a meal for the Friday evening at the Spice Lounge in Burford, which is an amazing Indian restaurant. We had intended to use a taxi to and from, however we discovered that as the taxis are not based locally, it would have cost approximately £30..each way.. for the 2 mile journey.
With no delivery option on offer, we cancelled the meal.
So it’s a great site with lots to offer, but if you want to use a taxi to access the town, currently costs are a bit prohibitive..
A very pleasant stay
We sent 3 nights here last weekend and enjoyed the site. A very helpful and friendly welcome on arrival (4pm). We were left free to choose our pitch although most were taken by the time we arrived. Good security, excellent cleanliness and helpful wardens. Very happy to return in the future.
Relaxing site
Stayed here for the second week of May and fell lucky with some great weather, which always makes a break better. Arrived the day after the Bank Holiday rush and it was sparsely populated which made for a welcome relax for us. Filled up again for the weekenders making the most of the sun. Great welcome from the wardens and friendly through the time we were there on the couple of times we interacted with them, had problem with EHU as newbies I had never used the older type that needs a turn to engage, quickly nipped around to help us out with some friendly banter to ease the embarrassment (most welcome as we have that type of a sense of humour). Place clean as usual up to the club sites standards, one point worth a comment is the shower block cleaned in the afternoon (2pm), which makes life easier for anyone leaving in the morning or going out for the day, why not the case on all sites? Did hear a bit of a moan about the length of some grass, but my opinion is agreement for the wildlife and the separating area between pitches was mown while we were there, nice to see some wild flowers around in there too.
Nicely placed for visiting the Cotswolds and Oxford with a short walk to the wildlife park silly to miss as it's across the road. Another day out we enjoyed, 6 miles away that was a pleasure to visit is Kelmscott Manor. Not the biggest place, but interesting and better than their website would suggest, but good reviews on Trip Advisor.
Fish and chips on Friday from a visiting converted horse box is a first, but sensible portion size and yummy.
Nice site but remote without a car
This is a nice site but it is a fair distance from anything apart from the wildlife park. We have two dogs who need walking and there is absolutely nowhere to go unless you have transport. This is very unusual not only for the Cotswolds but for a club site.
The facilities were clean although the grass around the site hadn’t been cut for sometime. I’m all for areas left for wildlife but between pitches and surrounding areas need cutting as it looks untidy.
It was certainly peaceful (apart from numerous military aircraft to and from Brize Norton). By around 2100 most vans were in darkness - maybe it’s that time of year and the demographic of visitors.
Nice site if you shave transport and want a tranquil few days but in my opinion not one for anybody active.
