Our 2nd visit

Our 2nd visit to Brora while touring. Such a lovely and very peaceful site.... an no Midgies (Sept 24). Pitches well laid out and the facilities block was excellent. Hubby said the disabled facilites were extremely good too. There is a fabulous, and deserted, beach (when the tides out) just a 10 minute stroll from the site which takes you across the adjacent golf course. Be aware of golfers. There are also cows grazing on the course at times. We saw a beautiful sunrise across the sea here too. Definitely a site to return to again.

Return visit

Lovely site in amazing location. How many sites can you sit and eat your evening meal whilst watching highland cattle stroll down the adjoining golf course? Just over the golf course is the most beautiful deserted beach. The site itself is run by a lovely couple who go out of their way to welcome you and ensure you have a great stay. The toilet block - although not the most modern - is spotlessly clean as are all facilities on the site. Sorry to hear the wardens are moving on at the end of the season, so just hope that whoever takes over keeps up their good work and high standards.

Most beautiful spot on NC500

Beautiful quiet site, edged up to a golf course with a lovely beach beyond. Easy 10 mins walk to the beach across the golf course which had sheep and cattle wandering about on it! We had pitch number 4 directly overlooking the golf course (and lovely highland cows). The wardens were fantastic, helpful and worked non stop to keep this site immaculately clean, this site is a credit to them. My only regret is we only stayed one night, I wish we’d stayed for longer! Great site

We stopped by on our tour of the NC500 and got a Good welcome by the couple who ran this site. Well maintained grounds ( where the lady was constantly working on improving the site to her vision) and good amenities with lovely touches everywhere. She always had time to chat with a great sense of humour. A beautiful long beach just a 5 minute amble over the golf course to reach. Lovely local village about 30 minute walk away with amenities. Dog friendly and lots of fuss for our Bonnie.

Outstanding

Visited with family while touring, what a wonderful site! Highly recommend, very well maintained with lots of little quirky accessories that have been added by the current staff. A small library has been created next to reception which is a great idea. The park is well laid out, toilet blocks spotless, laundry and dishwashing facilities are excellent. Staff are very friendly and always present around the park. It is a must visit site, well done!

Nice site close to sandy beach

Very friendly welcome, and we could choose from available pitches. Just cross the golf link to access the sandy beach for a long beach walk. The dogs loved it! Facilities good & clean.

Lovely Site

Easy to find with friendly welcome from warden. Narrow bridge approach but just take it slowly. Choose your own pitch. There were a selection of hard standing and grass pitches. Walk from site over golf course and you are straight onto the beach. Cows and sheep also on the golf course. Very well maintained site, nicely cut grass with additional wildlife areas alongside pretty flower areas. The wardens were always busy looking after this lovely site. We’ve been before and will come again, we really enjoy the peace and quiet alongside a beach.

NC500 at last

Wow what a perfect site so clean which is no surprise as the wardens were never still. A warm friendly welcome on arrival, given a choice of pitches, site facilities immaculate and a plus for us having a dog walk on site, an amazingly beautiful beach just a short walk through the golf course winner every time Would thoroughly recommend it to anyone looking for a perfect stop -spent 3 nights here

Very Attractive, Peaceful Site

Bora is a very attractive campsite within a small woodland setting, with individual hedges separating most of the pitches, which are also mostly quite big sized pitches. Lovely views of the nearby hills in the distance. It is one of my favourites as is so peaceful. Single couple wardens, as it’s a smaller site, been there for a few years, are welcoming and friendly and the facilities are kept very clean and are a decent number. The nearby beach, accessed across the golf course (with its resident sheep and cattle) is stunning and often can be almost deserted. The small 2 carriage local train passes nearby approximately 4 times a day, also lovely to watch. We have visited this campsite many times and also the area as return to visit relatives and always enjoy and look forward to our visit. However I am saddened by the effect of the ill thought through NC500 tourist route created by the SNP government, with no additional investment to the local communities now suffering the over whelming number of tourists , resulting in many one night, travelling through campers, not really their fault, but they have little time to speak much to other campers and the campsite is now fairly empty during the daytime and although full at night, it feels a bit soul less now, lacking a feel of community. I would suggest maybe create a row of allocated pitches for the one night NC500 travellers and let longer stayers or less rushed campers relax and enjoy the campsite together. Just my thoughts, others will disagree i imagine!
