It was our first trip away in our new caravan, the site warden was lovely and really helpful - He even helped us move the caravan into position and helped us when we left. Excellent customer service - a friendly place with lots of peace and quiet. A little tricky to get to with single track access, with a few passing places. Eastbourne, Battle and Hastings only under 30 mins away.
Escape to the peace
A little gem , hidden away .
If you want peace and quiet this is ideal the noise you will hear is birdsongs and the occasional tractor, even had a pony and trap go pass.
Lots of bird boxes around many made by Jon and they have been used for nesting this year.
Jon and Sue take a pride in the Site always a good morning with a smile.
There is no toilet/shower block so your van must have , lots of walking with the South Downs close and the village has a pub and shop . Supermarkets a short drive , Tesco , Waitrose , Morrison’s to choose from .
There are two pitching areas , an open meadow when you enter or if you prefer a wooded area , where you will see more bird life and it is shaded on a hot day as the open meadow is in sun .
Handy for visiting the seaside, Eastbourne, Brighton are a short drive away. National Trust property’s are close and the Steam Railway.
The approach lane is narrow, take it careful and arrive after 12 you shouldn’t have a problem .
In July 24/25th there is a boules tournament and a raffle.
Also caravan items pre loved to raise funds for Macmillan.

Ist timers
We spent our 1st evening with our brand-new touring caravan last night. It was exactly as described, a lovely 'gentile' site. We stayed in the wooded area and could not have asked for anything better for our first ever trip out. We drove out to Lewes in the afternoon (after the rain had finally stopped) for vegan coffee and cake. Really lovely little adventure. It was only 16 miles from our home, but it felt like a holiday. I didn’t mind that there were no shower blocks. The woman who greeted us reception was very nice and welcoming. The road access to the site is not as bad as it was described. Again, all good for our 1st adventure out. Shame we could not stay another night.
Peaceful site
We stayed for three nights early May (21) and found the site to be quiet, well maintained and peaceful. Good dog walks but would suggest a footpath map or online app to make the best choices found a walk to Chidingly was great.
The site could benefit from a little upgrading of roads and building of a toilet/shower block.
We will return later in the year.
Rural and peaceful
Quiet location, cattle and horses in adjacent fields. Quiet lanes, narrow in places. About 30 minute walk to village and pub. Open communal space uneven grass but ideal for our nervous dog. Nothing for children to do other than ride bikes around site.

Lovely site, peace and quiet
This site has one of the best dog walks we've come across, with a pleasant marked path leading through an area of woodland with bluebells and primroses. Why, then, do so many members not use the dog walk and exercise their dogs around the site, allowing them to mess and urinate wherever they choose, even on my pitch in one case. Apart from that, the site was lovely, warden was friendly and helpful, and it was nice and peaceful even over bank holiday weekend. There are a lot of seasonal pitches on this site and so some of the most attractive pitches are not available to tourers, but there was plenty of availability most of the time we were there. Not much for kids to do apart from ride around the site on their bikes.
Peaceful location but....
Second year at this great site but nothing worse than barking dogs to spoil your stay, especially when they are the wardens dogs! Some dog trainer needed !
Comment from the Club:
Thank you for your review and we are delighted you enjoyed your stay with us. We are sorry to read that you were disturbed by barking dogs during your stay and would like to reassure you these are not our site staff's dogs.

Beautiful site with fantastic walks nearby
Friendly welcome upon arrival.
My favourite thing about this site is the dog walk on-site and the lovely countryside surrounding it. We had a lovely walk with our dog.
Lovely and peaceful at night.
The only downside is that it’s not open all year. Looking forward to coming back in 2021.
Great for dog walks
Very peaceful and friendly site with fantastic dog walks. Staff helpful and relaxed atmosphere. Will be going back.
