Small site

I had never stayed here before.  A small site with two differing areas.  I stayed on the top where there was considerable noise from the A44.  On Sunday it was all motorbikes!  The site was clean and well maintained, but the wardens were only available in the mornings and not on Wednesdays.  This meant some arrived and had to fend for themselves.  For a single person the price is not cheap (though good value for couples!) and although there is plenty to do and see, I doubt I shall go again.

Not impressed

This site is situated in an old quarry and we were directed to the lower area in order to have a  HS pitch. In all honesty, we weren't impressed with the lower area. The pitches are small with no apparent difference between awning and non-awning pitches. There was some traffic noise but this is only to be expected in view of the location. Would we stay there again? Probably not even in view of the low price.

Great site

This site is very tidy and peaceful, some road noise, warden and his wife very friendly and helpful."Go and choose your site and come back and let me know." Dog walking(off lead) in the woods surrounding was a pleasure. Only problem we had was the rain and boy do they know how to have rain!We would recommend this site to anyone

If you want a relaxing site ......

This site is immaculate from the grounds to the water & waste facilities. If your looking to be able to savour some gorgeous scenery & relax this is an ideal site. The site is on a main road and at busy times you can hear a few cars but the woodland does help to block out the majority of noise. We stayed on the lower field with hard standing which is nearer the road so if you want it a bit quieter go for the top field.  Wardens were helpful & work really hard keeping the site immaculate.  If your in a motor home there is a bus stop in both directions right outside the camp site entrance.  Great place for dog walking with access onto the downs.  You are right by National Trust site.  Short drive into Bromyard.  Majority of couples/ adults on site (no play area etc) so if your bringing children make sure they have got something to keep them entertained.  TV signal was good.  Mobile phone (we have 3 & EE) both worked fine & we were able to use the data to access internet.  Excellent value for money.

A haven of peace in August?

A very pleasant week spent at a super little site with minimal facilities. Excellently positioned for Worcestershire and Herefordshire attractions. Not only is there no washroom but no play area or dog walk. Oh for more sites like this. Friendly wardens too.

Unexpected little gem

Unexpected? Because it is small and cosy, not enough room for loo block really which is not a problem as pitches are not far from disposal points especially on lower section. Also a gem for the hidden walks that can be reached easily from the site itself allowing long walks across field after field with views all the way as site fairly high. Great for dog walking. plenty too sniff out. National Trust property literally across the road (follow the path from top of site to prevent walking up main road. 5 minutes to the entrance.) This road is busyish but nothing to keep you awake. Bus stops right by site gate. Info room, sorry, shed is well stoked with said info. Also gems are the wardens. Phil and Della are a delight with their cheerfulness always there. We had banter aplenty (even when the rain was on us and they still smiled as they worked through it all) Their local knowledge is very helpful. Summary; returning before long as it is a great little site to chill at, for us anyway, either as a one off stop or touring around.

GREAT STAY

We stayed here for a week. What a great place. The site is kept very clean by the very helpfull wardens and is in a great location for the surrounding attractions. Lots to see and do. Plenty of National trust places to visit. The highlight for me was the Doctor Who and sifi experience at the square in Bromyard. This is a private collection and the owner is very plesent and a joy to talk to. Well worth a visit.

A Welcome Return

This was our second visit to this delightful site, only a one day stop, as part of a short tour, but the site delivered all we expected. The split nature of this quarry site, surrounded by woodland makes for a lovely venue, private, secluded, yet with easy access to some lovely places and interesting walks. Bromyard Downs are across from the main entrance, and the NT Brockhampton Estate is a few hundred metres away. There is a bus stop to Hereford or Worcester at the entrance. The site itself is very tidy, and a credit to the very nice and friendly Wardens, we liked the herb planter! There are no facilities other than waste and water, but this is a proper caravanners site, meaning it is quiet and unspoilt. We liked the lower level best, bit less traffic noise, but this is only noticable at busy times. The birds singing tend to drown the noise. All in all a lovely site, thank you, Wardens.
