Moaning Guests...Again!!

The folks below complaining about the 'mopeds' revving engines and riding around the site obviously have not a clue.   1st of all they were SCOOTERS  NOT MOPEDS. & VERY valuable scooters in the main. They were in Brighton to attend the MOD WEEKENDER Taking place on the Sat' and Sunday. There was no 'riding around the site'.  They rode out and they rode back in.  What would you suggest? Push the bikes? Surely that should not be necessary?  I would be more worried about the speed of some of the other vehicles using the site including some bicycles. There were thousands of scooters attending this great event so I guess you stuck it lucky. The event is annual so if you don't pick this weekend again and all will be peace and quiet.  (apart from the barking dogs that is) .... I think some of you need to get a life for heavens sake What a bunch of moaning minnies. The site is excellent in all respects with very helpful wardens.  The location close to the town is a real bonus too..

Acceptable

I stayed for a week which included bank holiday weekend. Wardens, if seen, were not the usual welcoming type of warden that I usually find on a club site. There were very few members who considered the 5mph speed limit and directional arrows. Some parents allowed their children to cycle unsupervised on downhill sections which could have resulted in serious accidents. If you want to visit this site avoid bank holidays as moped riders are either regularly riding around the site at various hours of the day, even at 11pm or just revving the mopeds. Apart from this Brighton has many areas to visit and Brighton Marina is a very good place to visit which has a a variety of eateries.

Great location but not quiet

We stayed here over August Bank Holiday weekend. The site is in a superb location for exploring Brighton itself and the surrounding area. The facilities were the usual spotless standard that we have come to expect from the Caravan Club. Because of the time we chose to go, the site was full to capacity and there were also a number of motor-homers camped on the approach road. There was a constant stop / start and revving of mopeds onsite. The moped riders were generally quite considerate but the vintage Vespas and Lambrettas were quite noisy as they constantly left and re-entered the site. There is also a football ground in the next field, so one afternoon we were suddenly and unexpectedly aware of loudspeakers, football chants and even a drum and vuvuzela. All in all, a positive review but if your looking for peace and quiet, look elsewhere.

Disappointed

SadStayed here two yrs ago this year we booked a service pitch worst thing ever! It's a disgrace how many motor homes drop their waste without considering others they don't even park over the grids to drop the waste, some of them smell awful we put up with this for a week please think of others .... When I told the warden she said I was within my rights to confront people as a member surely this is Not my position? The site is not as well kept as it was though toilet blocks very clean, the male wardens seemed to like checking the bins numerous times on their trackers... All the children on the site were very well mannered and enjoyed themselves, sadly we won't go back to this site different rules for different people...found only one warden friendly but don't know his name.

Lovely clean friendly site, great location

This is the second time we have visited and have not been disappointed. The site is beautifully maintained. The facilities are always clean. The site is ideal for popping into town on the bus which we did everyday. The marina handy for shopping in a hurry. Really enjoyed our stay. Wardens were friendly and helpful. Would recommend.

Nice Site

We have stayed here several times and have always found it to be really good. Its so convenient to get a bus into town and even if you go out in Brighton for the night, taxis don't cost that mush either. Well done for getting Security in when there was an Illegal Gypsy campsite set up just down the road.

Brighton C C Stay

We stayed mid August, site and facilities lovely and clean and tidy. Only two minor gripes, the wi-fi isn't very reliable, couldn't log on sometimes, when connected it's slow, the club should sort this out with it's supplier, it's the same on several sites. Full recycling not available on site, glass should not go into the general waste. From the site an easy one hour stroll along the seafront to the pier. Marina is a 20min walk, plenty to see there and lots of restaurants and coffee shops to visit.  Public transport is very good in the area, and a large supermarket at the marina.  Overall a good stay, we will visit again.  Well done club for the security on the site due to illegal gypsy camp down the road.

Brighton

Had two weeks here, nice site good level pitches bit surprised saturday afternnoon when the football club next door began a match.I didn't give it a thought when we arrived but it was lively from 3pm till 5ish. Brigton Marina was useful just down the hill, 20 minute walk. There's an Asda and plenty of places to eat and drink here. I wasn't overly impressed with Brighton itself it seemed a little tired and un-loved,but it was better atmosphere at night. Not much else to see locally Worthing & Eastbourne were uninteresting to me, not really my sort of coastline. P.S. shame to see so many sleeping on the streets and begging, maybe living by the seaside isn't all some might think it is.
