Lovely visit

We had an absolutely lovely stay here from 9th to 16th July. The staff were the friendliest we have ever encountered on a club site and were very helpful. The pitch we were allocated was spacious and nicely surrounded by hedges. We heard other visitors complain about not being able to choose their own pitch but this is actually the main reason we don't often use Caravan club sites as we prefer to actually book our pitch rather than take pot luck on arrival. The site itself is in such a lovely location and the dog walk was lovely even though we didn't have a dog! Yes there are improvements to be made, but this is why the site is closing from November for a few months. So glad we choose to stay here and we hope to return next year.

Not happy

We visited this site for the first time 19th June, the area is lovely, and I'm sure this site will be eventually , but we felt very let down the facilities are not fit for purpose , two unisex bathrooms and two showers in each of the men's and ladies toilets. Which results in people queuing . When we were there some disgusting person messed on one of the unisex bathroom floors, so that one was out of action for 12 hours, until it was cleaned, my heart goes out to the wardens. I have paid for wifi usage with the club this year, but it doesn't work on this site so was told I would have to pay £7.50 to use the one available on this site. The club should be honest with members and say, this site isn't up to standard, but if you would like to visit at a reduced cost until it is fair enough. But to charge full price is very unfair, when we are guided by the write up in the book. Thought it was based on fact not fiction.

Mixed Feelings

Visited the site 28/06/19 for 7 nights The site is in a lovely area,Probably the best dog walk on all the sites i have visited in 25 years of club membership.A well laid out site but in need of upgrading. Lack of chemical and grey water emptying points. i booked this site on the grounds that it had a bar and restaurant and it was a dog friendly site. Unfortunately dogs are not allowed in the bar.We had to sit outside in the smoking area if we wanted to have a drink not good as we are non smokers. I was amazed to be charged a £5 deposit for 2 plastic glasses!. The toilets/shower rooms were not to every ones liking but were kept very clean.Considering this site was more expensive than the one we moved onto at Brixham with a swimming pool and dog friendly bar area. Dont think we will be returning to this site.

Bad experience

The site has failed in two respects for us 1 We were reported to the Caravan Club for leaving the site at 6.40. There was no earliest leave time stated and the gates were not closed. We had to leave urgently but no allowance was made for that. We were very quiet but that did not seem to count. 2 We were assured that the restaurant was very good so we booked for “Pie night” On arrival we were told that there were no pies, no sausages, no steak and no risotto. This left a limited choice. They said had new potatoes but they were old, reheated and inedible.

Great Stay

A site with huge potential once the works planned for the coming winter are completed. It is well worth a visit now to experience at an early stage what could well become a top & sought after touring stay. Current toilet block facilities, as other reviewers have said, are below the usual C&MC standard but not dire. Just go with the right level of expectation and you will have a realy nice stay. The staff were all superb an extremely helpful. Particular thanks to Kim for helping us out with travel problems when the M3/M27 were closed on our day of arrival!

Glad we came here.

Having read some very mixed reviews we were a bit concerned about coming here. BUT, having spent a fortnight here in June we are so glad we dismissed the negatives. It ticked all the boxes for us and without a doubt has the friendliest team of wardens we have ever come across in over 40 years with the club. Looking forward to a return visit.

Campers will have different experiences.

The Club have taken over this site and have not yet got it up to their usual standard. All pitches are allocated as suitable pitches are far and few. We were given a sloping hardstanding which was difficult to reverse onto once our awning was erected. We were told to pitch as close to the peg which was on the righthand corner behind a tree. We only have a small camper with a driveaway awning and we just about fitted it on. The showers were a bit hit and miss but there are two very nice unisex ones if you manage to get in one. I wouldn't say it is not yet suitable for families as there isn't a play area. The dog walk is lovely and kept tidy. There is a restaurant but we didn't try it. All in all the staff work hard to make this site work but it really isn't up to standard.

Nice to have a club site that has got lots of atmosphere

Have just had a great 7 nights at this site .Great friendly staff nothing was too much trouble People complaining about only 10 amp supply ? What's the problem we used everything we needed with no trouble. We heard people moaning about it not being 5 star. For goodness sake get real if that's what you want go and stay is a 5 star hotel and stop complaining . Yes the site needs a bit of updating but don't make it too uniformed and spoil it .It's a bit quirky and like a lot of this sites in france and that's what makes it different and nice If people want it all laid out in tidy uniformed rows my advice is give up the caravan and go and stay at Butlins. Our thanks to the hard working staff for a great week.We will be back. Kind Regards Pat and Dudley Walker.

Requirea update

The pitches are small with some having to leave your car away from your pitch or park across the front of your pitch. My wife never got hot water in the showers 5 nights we where there. It spoilt the holiday so much that we pulled off early and went into Hampshire. The restaurant was very handy producing good meals for a fair price. Electric points where in odd places leaving cable to pass over other members pitches to reach yours. This site requires major upgrade to bring it up to C&M Club standards. I cannot believe or trust the ratings on this site unless your a hedge lover

What I lovely site! Perfect!

Just returned from a week at Bingham Grange and loved it. Beautiful position, lots of lovely hedges and trees. Friendly helpful wardens. Very peaceful and the added bonus of a restaurant on site which we used three times during our week and were never disappointed. Although we don’t have a dog we ‘borrowed’ our friends two one morning and thought the dog walk was marvellous. Loved the private bathroom facilities, so great to have room for everything. They were always spotlessly clean and the water always hot! I have seen other reviews moaning about wardens cutting the grass and hedges and am amazed. We all want the our sites looking tidy and tended, and I wonder how they think the site is kept like that without the necessary work. One day when we were sat outside the van a warden apologised for the fact that he had to mow around us, and we told him to go ahead! What on earth is a little noise for a short time to make your pitch pristine. We have no complaints about this site and will definitely visit again. In regard to the beaches at West Bay they were both shut for the week we were there as the Council are renewing the sea defences. This needs to be done at this time of year because it’s not possible in the winter. They hope to be finished by mid July. However do go and watch from the two quays, we found it fascinating watching the huge machines at work. There is always Burton Bradstock just along the coast for bathing. For brilliant seafood, try Rachel’s in the harbour. Just a hut and you eat outside. There is always a queue, but so worth the wait!
