Great stay

It just shows that you should not always believe what you read. We also had great doubts about staying at this site having read so many negative reviews !! Well we certainly had nothing to worry about. We have been absent from camping for many years and have just returned to touring in our new motorhome. This was our first site visit since re-joining the caravan and Motorhome club. We were met by a friendly warden with a great northern sense of humour. I wonder if this is what some people do not get !! It was so up lifting to have some friendly banter which made us laugh. It was a great start to a most enjoyable stay. All the other wardens we spoke too were also friendly and it was noted how hard working they are. The site was well run, neat and tidy with very clean toilets and showers. It is in a great location so you don't need to move your motorhome . It's within walking distance of Sewerby and Bridlington. There is a handy bus stop outside the club entrance with buses running to both Bridlington and Flamborough. There are some good places to eat out. We enjoyed a lovely meal at The Old Forge in Sewerby. There also is The Ship Inn with a great choice of meals although we didn't visit this but will try on our next visit as we shall definitely be returning . Wish we could have stayed longer.

Dozens of poor reviews made me book with Caravan Club instead

I made the mistake of booking here before I'd read the reviews. Based on the many, many poor reviews, I have cancelled my booking and booked a caravan club site instead. Maybe a bit cowardly, but I'm taking my disabled daughter with me, and the last thing we need is horrible wardens. It sounds like there are some good wardens on the site, but lots of reviews about the dreadful attitude of some wardens. CAMC, take note; you are losing business because of some of your staff's attitude.

What’s not to like ?????

First time here and having read some of the scathing reviews we had our doubts. No doubts now! This place is fantastic in every respect. Don’t believe the tosh other reviewers say about the wardens. They are lovely, welcoming and helpful. If you have issues with them use ur communication skills and the courage of your convictions and raise it with them you never know you you might be pleasantly surprised that speaking has its uses. The site is spotlessly clean and very neat and tidy as you would expect from the club. I have nothing negative to say. Keep up the great work.

Lovely site

Have been to Bridlington many times over recent years and always find it a well maintained site. The facilities are spotless and, unlike one or two reviewers, we have always found the wardens pleasant and efficient. The pitches are a good size and many have direct access to larger than average grassed areas (good for sitting / eating outside, drying wet clothes etc). The original site is split into three distinct areas whilst the new section of the site is one large open aspect area. The old and new areas are divided by a well established tree belt which adds character to the site and encourages wildlife. Danes Dyke is within easy walking distance, although the final approach is quite steep. There is a good walk along the clifftops to Flamborough lighthouse and Flamborough village has pubs, shops and nice bays to visit. A bit further afield is the RSPB site at Bempton Cliffs and Bridlington, which can be reached along the clifftop walk from Sewerby if you are feeling fit. Lots to do in a lovely area and we will always come back here.

Very Disappointing Start

I’ve never met such a rude Warden as the one we encountered on arrival. Mask on I got out of our motorhome to check in, a male warden came out and said in a loud and brusk fashion “get back in your van, we do things from there, here”. Feeling very anxious I jumped back inside to then be dealt with by a female warden, she again was very brusk and was not at all welcoming. We have never had such a reception on all the sites we have previously been to in the last four years. Over the 3 days we were on site we found they have so many rules and regulations far more than we have seen on other club sites. I do appreciate how difficult the job of warden is, dealing with the general public can be very taxing to say the least but one should at least start off on a friendly, rather than confrontational footing. Saying all this the site is peaceful and facilities spotless. It is a good walk along the coastal path to Flamborough Lighthouse, beware though if you plan to get the bus back you need to go into Flamborough village and this is about 2.5 miles from the lighthouse. From the site and back to the village we walked 10 miles. Bus into Bridlington is easy.

Nice site

Nice site, everything as you would expect for a Caravan and Motorhome club site. Important for those wanting to use local bus service to note the last bus back from Bridlington is 18.15 as they don't run in the evening.

Nice site shame about one warden

One warden in particular was rude and unpleasant. They all should be on the same page in relation to vehicle parking and when to charge. This was not made clear with one warden contradicting what another had said. Members are not made to feel welcome and you feel an inconvenience to one female warden. I had made 2 separate bookings because of being there for a week with 2 adults and two children, then 3 nights with 2 adults and one child. When we got there they had joined the bookings together and a couple of days later during a discussion with the warden she stated she had had to add a child to my booking! We’ll if she’d left them alone it would have been correct. However the site is well maintained but that’s as you would expect with 6 wardens, facilities are clean. I do wonder when the caravan club will take note of complaints from members and from comments made on trip advisor. Perhaps giving Bridlington site a change of wardens may make it a pleasant site to visit. Not a site I will be returning to unless this happens.

Great weekend away

We received a warm welcome from the warden , despite our late arrival, she even recommended which pitch to choose from the few remaining available This site is good for motor homes who don’t wish to drive once pitched up. There are buses outside the site entrance to Bridlington. It’s also possible to walk to two local pubs within a mile, and the golf club Bridlington Links also serves food & drinks to non members on a lovely outdoor terrace overlooking the sea We walked to Sewerby Hall and gardens where there was lots to do as a family - cafe, small zoo, lawn games like pitch and putt plus giant connect four Very clean facilities and well maintained site

Maiden trip for first timer

Short review as i became ill and had to cut my holiday short. From booking online to leaving site, i can honestly say that it was the easiest experience. From the moment we arrived, to when we left, the staff were polite, helpful and friendly. I can't compare this site to any other yet, but even though it was my first time here, it certainly wont be my last, it is such a beautiful, well maintained site and perfectly located for the atteactions around it. My puppy made friends whilst we were there, the dog walking area was perfect for her to run around in.

Fantastic site

Just returned from our stay at Bridlington. We have two children aged 8 and 6. We loved the site. It’s clean and cup de sac layout is great. We found the wardens very professional and polite. We stayed on a pitch just behind the park which was perfect for children to have some freedom. This has to be the friendliest site we have visited. Possibly the layout helps. Spoke to lots of lovely caravan and motor home owners. The children made lots of friends. I found the site good as it had little pavements in places for children. This site is good for getting out and about without a car too. We did a few days without using the car. You can easily walk to the beach in 30 minutes. The model village is also near which is well worth a visit. There are two pubs to walk to. We only tried the ship in which is by the beach. It has a children’s play area. Once at the coast you can walk into Bridlington south / north beach easily. Alternatively there is a land train which you can get. Overall great trip / site. I think this is my favourite we’ve visited
