Our stay

We stayed between May 6th and May 8th 2016 and thoroughly enjoyed the site. Wardens extremely helpful, lovely showers and spotlessly clean. Particularly loved the dog walking facilities, dog wash area, fab main dog walk, the best we have seen and there was also a small short & mainly tarmac area that the dogs could use if it was very wet and muddy. Short walk to a pub via the dog walk which served lovely food but a bit pricey. Will definately return to this site again hopefully very soon.

Caravaning don't get much better

We love this site keep returning every year for a weekend. Brecon just a short walk away down the canal. On site the facilities are spotless, the site is so nice and laid out well. Service pitch for us ever time as its home from home. You do sometimes need a long waist pipe but this would be the same on any site. The shop stock these anyway. If I was to say anything negative would be for the warden to smile more.

Won't be going back!

Stayed here for just 2 nights. First impressions were good, site really big and well-spaced out. We had a serviced pitch, not good, the waste is in the centre of the pitch. If you park your rear corner against the red marker you are not able to use the grey waste unless you had at least a 5 metre grey waste pipe! Ended up using the wastemaster. There were not many vans on the site, we made the mistake of using a second hook up to use a heater in our awing. Big mistake the Green police we're straight on our case. I asked my son to unplug, he did, however just the heater and not the hook up cable. The green police were back on our case later in the day. I had checked before we arrived re the use of a log burner. There was nothing in the site rules…we were on a hardstanding pitch, so we saw no danger. The green police were there straight away and asked us to let the logs burn out. The next morning there were signs on display in the toilet blocks. On checking out, as it was sunny I asked at reception regarding a late checkout. I was asked what time, I replied 5pm, I was advised that I would have to pay for another night. I asked what the latest time was, the Green Police said 4pm. I said that would be great, I was then advised that she couldn’t confirm that time, even though she suggested it, the Warden needed to confirm it! At this point I couldn’t be bothered, we packed up and left, will definitely not be returning.

MANY MANY THANKS

Returned for another long weekend. Left last time early with personal issues and found a genuine sympathetic welcome with hugs and flowers. What a personal touch, we were speechless. We can't express how special we felt in the way we were treated by the wardens, absolutely incredible. We had booked elsewhere for July but are changing to return here. This is a fabulous place to be.

One of the best sites

This has got to be one of the best cc sites there is. Should use this as a template for every site. Staff really friendly and helpful. Facilities excellent cleanest shower blocks ever!  Fab dog walk and lots of spaces between pitches. If anyone moans about this site they must be bonkers!! Will definitely be returning to Brecon site.

Excellent staff

I submitted a review on this site recently but having visited other sites and read reviews left about them and the hard working and excellent staff on those sites I have to say that none, in my opinion, were as friendly, hard working and efficient as those on this site

The Showers-

This is an on-going bugbear with me. The cleanliness of the showers deteriorate with each user. Whatever is left behind does not get clean by wiping the floor with a plastic blade. The blade are like 'Izal' toilet paper, they just spread whatever is there. Meanwhile the tiles just get grubbier and grubbier. Come on Caravan Club, you have had such high standards in the past, but you are being very neglectful about the cleanliness of the showers. Anybody else think like me?

A Site with a View

A spacious site with views, new landscaping and good sized pitches many of which are serviced. There is some background noise which can be partly avoided by pitching near the camping area. This is a good site for families with a big playing field, woods, water and just across the woodland bridge a mini assault course. Also an excellent dog walk, dog/cycle wash and an easy use grid for motorhome waste water. Early birds get the croissants and rolls in the well stocked shop. Local walks are great. The small "Around and About Brecon" map from the office or Brecon tourism in town shows all the local routes easily reached from the site including the Taff Trail and Usk Walks.. It's only a few minutes walk down from the site to the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal, then a half an hour stroll into Brecon one way or the Brynich Lock in the other. On reaching Brecon there is a good cafe at the the theatre (another nearby) and boat hire. There are nearby beautiful walks along the Usk river too.The woodland and lane walk from the site to the dog friendly Three Horseshoes pub is about 15 minutes. An enjoyable walk to a modern pub with good food.  Overall a site worth visiting with plenty to do in the area on foot, cycling or by car.
