GREAT SITE AND WARDENS

Made our 1st visit to this site over the BH. Standards as usual were high in all regards. We had to cut our holiday short for personal reasons however the wardens were very understanding and helpful re our circumstance. Many thanks and see you soon.

An excellent site

We have come to appreciate that the Caravan Club sites are of the highest quality - and this is no exception.   Brecon Beacon site is very neatly maintained and managed by a team of informative and dedicated wardens.  We were welcomed very warmly by a lady who was new to the post but who did her best to make us feel happy to be there.  Other managers were happy to tell us of what was available in the area - and of what we could look for when we went cycling in the Peak District.  The facilities were very cleanly kept up and what impressed me - perhaps sadly!! - is that the shower blocks were cleaned at other times from when we were expecting to leave / arrive. A pub - The Three Horseshoes - local to the site was an easy walk away and down a country lane but one with very little traffic on it - but still remember to take a torch if returning in the dark as there are no streetlights. The beer there was really good as were the "nibbles" but I thought the regular food a little expensive - perhaps not to everyone but it was for me. Very near to the site is also the Monmouth to Brecon canal and is perfect for a flat and undemanding cycle ride to Pencelli and on to Talybolt-on-Usk.  The "path" thereafter to the reservoir is very rough but the view of the reservoir is worth the effort. All in all, we had a very enjoyable stay at the Brecon Beacons Caravan Club site - and I would recommend it to anyone.

Excellent site

Found this very good. Useful location, easy to get to places - walking distance to Brecon. Wardens welcoming and helpful. Slight road noise to be expected given the location, but quiet overnight. Excellent dog walking facilities. We do not have a family so please ignore the rating for this mandatory section as it is not based on experience, but there is a play area. A pity it is not open all year. Will use it again.

Fabulous site

This site has undergone a complete refurb .it provides spacious hard standing pitches with many serviced . Brecon is but a 20 min walk along the tow path terminating at the theatre. There is an excellent farmers market in the town every 2nd Saturday of the month . Surrounding views of the Beacons are fabulous . JH

Great week mid October

Lovely large site with two modern toilet blocks. Nice 20 minute stroll along canal side path into Brecon. Morrisons, Aldi & Co-Op supermarkets in town plus other small independent shops. Fabulous scenery & walks in the Brecons. Only two slight negatives are some parts of site suffer road noise but it did not bother us & to get to canal side to walk into town you have to cross two busy dual carriageways - have your wits about you as people in vehicles approach the roundabout at great speed. Don't let this put you off - we will be returning to this site & area again.

Brecon club site

Recently stayed on this site, helpful and polite wardens.  Well stocked, reasonably priced shop.  Very clean toilet and shower facilities, we particularly liked the fact that one block was cleaned in the morning and the other in the afternoon. There was a large children's play area along with an adventure playground within 5mins of the site. Location was ideal for visiting Brecon town and also Brecon Beacons.  You are able to walk into Brecon it takes approximately 30mins along the side of the canal. We are already planning on visiting again next year and would definitely recommend this site.

Brecon caravan club site

We're here for 2 weeks in October.Lovely site and fantastic facilities.Toilet/shower blocks are exceptional and spotless.Site well placed for walking and sight seeing in Brecon Beacons. Site very clean and staff friendly and helpful. Only negative point is traffic noise from adjacent A40 and A470 but this did not spoil our visit .

Bank holiday break

Spent a few days in Brecon over the August Bank Holiday. This was our first visit to a Club Site and we couldn't have been more impressed. The facilities were spotless and spacious, with very clear times when closed for cleaning, which were staggered with the other block so one was always available. Staff were so helpful and friendly. We've only had the caravan a few months so are grateful of the advice and help we've had. This also goes for other Caravan Club Members who have been brilliant with advice, suggestions and tips! Site location is great for visiting South Wales as well as exploring the beacons. Will definitely visit again.
