Service beyond self

We could only stay one night with the weekend looming. Unfortunately, while setting up I managed to gash my scalp open on my scooter trailer. One of the staff at the club drove my wife and I to the local Minor Injury Unit (who were also outstanding) for repairs. Five stitches to the head later, we walked back to the park along the canal path, a very pleasant stroll. That was all we managed to do during our stay (my head hurt a lot) but we will have very fond memories of the wonderful staff at Brecon. Other than that, they have the best, bar none, ablution facilities of any Caravan Club site we have stayed in, and over the last 4 years, that has been quite a few. Thanks folks.

Brilliant Brecon

Had a really pleasant 2 night stay at this site. The staff were friendly, humorous and very helpful. The facilities were clean and in very good condition. Great location for lovely walks. Could not fault this site, thank you.

CC site at proper price in June/July

Location -Excellent. Quality-Excellent. Situation- Superb for walking, cycling and with Bus stop adjacent. Good shop on site for newspapers and essentials. Enlightened wardens-nice to see late departures for families on Sunday. Best M/H service point we have seen. Only downside is road noise with A40 East/West and A470 North/South both adjacent and meeting at roundabout at bottom corner of site. With many pitches you can select to be away from the worst. At £23-30 for H/s pitch and 2 adults that is sensible pricing end June/early July.

Lovely site

The site is beautifully maintained, with a mixture of hard standing and grass pitches. It sits between two main roads so as others have committed it does suffer from road noise, to be fair this is highlighted in the caravan club information on the site so it shouldn't be a surprise! We took ear plugs but didn't always need them and slept well. The toilet blocks are spotless and are some of the best appointed I've seen and are a credit to the caravan club! There are lovely long walks in both directions along the near by canal path. If you walk as far as Pencelli there is 'The Oak' pub in which to have a drink, it was shut during the afternoon however! You can also ride your cycles along the canal paths, which is part of national cycle route 8 so if you are more adventurous you can continue on along the route and on towards Talybont Reservoir and beyond. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely return.

Noisy roads!

On arrival my wife called in tone dealt with quite abruptly by one of the lady wardens. Not a good start but no big deal. The overriding problem we experienced was noise from the nearby roads. It literally sounded like we were pitched up in a busy roadside lay by. To be fair, the other side of the site seemed quieter. On a positive note, the facilities are immaculate and the location is great for access to the local area - as long as you understand that location brings the noise with it!

Nice site but near to a busy roundabout

Site was lovely and clean but didn't realise it was so near to the bypass roundabout. Staff were very helpful though. Our first pitch you could hear the road noise so moved the other side which was a lot better. Tried the nearest pub but could not get in for a meal so be sure to book. Tried another pub a bit farther away on a different day and still could not get a meal so we gave up and cooked ourselves. Quite a treck into Brecon as well.

Excellent site

First time here but definitely not the last. The staff have a mature and flexible attitude not in the least 'jobsworths' as on so many sites these days, a breath of fresh air and restored my faith in the club wardens. As to the site, good location with short walk to canal to either walk into Brecon or take a nice bike ride in other direction towards Abergavenny. The facilities on site are very well maintained. I particularly liked the drive over drain at the Motorhome disposal point saves trying wrestle with drain lid that is invariably half under the van. Also another nice touch is the designated bike/dog wash a very good facility without alienating other members/staff when trying to clean bikes at waste water point, be good if this and Motorhome drive over waste drain could be replicated at other sites.

Must visit

This site is very enjoyable, our weekend at Brecon had good access for big rigs, site was immaculate, the facilities were spotless, the Wardens were good nature. Good dog walks, apparently the canal that leads to town is quite good.

Fabulous Site

Thoroughly enjoyed our weekend at Brecon, the site was immaculate, the facilities were spotless, fantastic on-site shop, the Wardens were so happy and very welcoming. Fantastic dog walks, play area for the young ones fabulous, the best yet we have come across. Easy walking distance to town centre. We liked it that much we are returning in August. Thank you to the Wardens for doing a first class job and making this site fabulous.
