First Time on this location

First time at this site, although have walked the area before. Excellent site with superb facilities and wardens who take great pride in the site. As others have said Three Horseshoes pub is excellent, food first rate, if a little expensive. Only negative is the road noise, only to be expected if sited on major trunk route roundabout. Pleasant half hour walk to Brecon along canal, a pleasant little town, but like most small towns in Wales, it is struggling to make its way commercially. The area is superb so well worth a visit.

This beautiful place

This is the second time we have included Brecon on our travels and whilst it is a well managed site with good facilities, the noise from the road was grating this time. Perhaps there was a motorcycle rally in the vicinity. This will not put us off as the potential for walking in the area is fantastic.

Brecon Beacons for the weekend

We have enjoyed three weekends at the Brecon Beacons site. Eating at the Three Horseshoes has been lovely and is only a short walk, but you should book in advance. Our dog liked the dog walk including taking a dip in the stream. The shop has a great array of handy caravan parts and enough food. We like the fresh bread in the morning. This site is down on the flat but it's not far to get on to the Beacons proper. All very friendly but some noise from the road.

Frequent visitor

I have stayed at the Brecon site many times over the years, both before and since the upgrade. The site never disappoints. The staff are very welcoming and helpful, the facilities are excellent and the site is kept very clean and tidy. The location is perfect for exploring this lovely area of mid-Wales. Road noise can be a disturbance as can the firings on the adjacent Army training base, but these issues should not distract from what is surely one of the Club's "flagship" sites.

Fantastic site

what a site, what a welcome. Starting at the wardens they are amazing, friendly and so helpful loved them all. The site is definitely 5star from the super pitches to the dog walk, amazing. We opted for a super pitch but had to move as we struggled to get level and also our water pipe and waste pipes would not reach the shared point, so just a little one to be aware of, once moved they are great and it became a pleasure to only have the loo to worry about. The 2 facility blocks are superb very modern with ample showers large cubicles and tons of hot water. The drying room with the lockers is a great idea you can put wet gear in without fear of it being stolen as we once suffered in  Cumbria. The dog walk is probably the best it is so big and varied it would be worth it to wonder around even if you don't have a dog. The shop sold everything we needed and very reasonably priced too. The location is spot on and very central to get around the Beacons. Sadly a couple of negatives, yes the road noise can be excessive at times especially motor bikes, it is a very well known speed run and also the kids at the weekends could get noisy and after dark it was a challenge who could go fastest around the roads on their bikes using the speed humps as take off points . Take those few niggles aside and we could not fault it. We will come back it is only 2 hours from home and worthy of the effort to make it a regular weekend haunt.

Brecon Beauty

Very much the best CC site we've used - fantastically high standard for facilities & great shop. But, best of all are the superb staff members, who were so kind, helpful & considerate when our motorhome engine failed completely last week. We'll be going back soon!!

Beacon Break

Fantastic site with fantastic facilities. Stayed just two nights but well worth it. Wardens brilliant and combined with the shower rooms and shop makes it a good getaway. Liked the hedges separating the roads which gives some privacy. Little bit of road noise and noise from the children using the site roads as a bicycle race track but not too bad. Caught the bus to Brecon but disappointed as it was a bit run down, better off going to Abergavenny. The local pub (dog friendly) was an easy 10 Knute stroll. Don't be put off by the outside appearance it really is a gem of a place inside. Will go back, pity it not an all year site

Service beyond self

We could only stay one night with the weekend looming. Unfortunately, while setting up I managed to gash my scalp open on my scooter trailer. One of the staff at the club drove my wife and I to the local Minor Injury Unit (who were also outstanding) for repairs. Five stitches to the head later, we walked back to the park along the canal path, a very pleasant stroll. That was all we managed to do during our stay (my head hurt a lot) but we will have very fond memories of the wonderful staff at Brecon. Other than that, they have the best, bar none, ablution facilities of any Caravan Club site we have stayed in, and over the last 4 years, that has been quite a few. Thanks folks.

CC site at proper price in June/July

Location -Excellent. Quality-Excellent. Situation- Superb for walking, cycling and with Bus stop adjacent. Good shop on site for newspapers and essentials. Enlightened wardens-nice to see late departures for families on Sunday. Best M/H service point we have seen. Only downside is road noise with A40 East/West and A470 North/South both adjacent and meeting at roundabout at bottom corner of site. With many pitches you can select to be away from the worst. At £23-30 for H/s pitch and 2 adults that is sensible pricing end June/early July.
