Lovely site and location.
Unfortunate that mobile signal non-existant.
also, that TV is out of last century and handbook needs the 'Analogue-only' in BOLD print. Being instructed on site notices to tune to analogue is so out of date and even the 'booster' is meaningless if you have a modern TV. Come on, lets see some updating very soon!
Paradise
As we are Caravanning again after a 17year break we chose BA as our maiden voyage from the 22nd - 29th. April. We left a day early but that was due to a weather warning for snow! The site was v clean, quiet and well managed and the walks and scenery second to none with tea shops, cafes aplenty. Our Lab Lola loved it. We will definitely return in the autumn to see the area in a different season.

Bank holiday bliss at Bolton Abbey!
This is the second time we have stayed here and loved it just as much as the first time. With it being bank holiday we imagined the site to be busy but we arrived and were told to go and find any spare pitch. The site was immaculate and everyone one was really friendly always a hello and a smile. The wildlife around the site is fabulous. We saw mandarin ducks, Mallards, grey squirrels, numerous different types of birds and our next door neighbours even saw a deer on site.
Make sure you take your walking boots with you as there are plenty of walks to do right on the site doorstep. I think we covered about 15 miles in total in 2 days.
The wifi service was fabulous and allowed us to watch the Grand prix. Although there is no phone signal so if your arranging to meet friends nearby the only way to message them is via the internet. We can't wait to come back again.
Great site
Very good site well run , great location , quite and relaxing , will defiantly be returning
Motorhomer
Lovely quiet / peaceful site. Great location. Clean & tidy site. Only beef I have is as a late arrival (early evening) instructions were left for us on reception door. It indicated that available pitches were highlighted on the enclosed map, they wernt! Having found an available pitch we duly informed the lady in reception the following morning (as instructed). I know from previous visits to CC sites (been a member for years), the pitch is then marked as taken for the duration of your stay. We were there for 2 nights. Bear in mind were a Motorhome..... We left site the day after our arrival to visit the area. The following morning my partner was given a lecture by a male member of staff, saying we'd caused confusion to arriving van's who thought our pitch was vacant as we hadn't 'marked it as taken'..... I've NEVER done this, as arrivals are told were available pitches are as the plotting board in reception is updated by site staff. I appreciate some Motorhomers (certainly not all) do leave something to indicate that a pitch is taken, but feel it is the responsibility of the site staff to adequately manage this process........
Great location but piitches not big enough for large awnings.
The location of this site is fantastic. The walks and the views are superb. Usual standard of club facilities (showers and toilets etc.) Temporary warden was very helpful and accommodating. As is usual for many Club Sites, there's nothing for children on the site. Despite the size of awning pitches apparently being increased on this site, we found the pitches too narrow for a 4m wide awning. We've never had this problem on other Club Sites and I think too many pitches have been shoehorned onto a.popular site.
So peaceful
One of my favourite sites as it is so peaceful and in a beautiful part of The world. The site is well cared for and the facilities are excellent.I love the addition of the bird feeders.
Lovely towns close by, Ilkley is my favourite and Skipton, with its street market a close second. Grassington is a smaller town but worth a visit.
A visit to Hesketh Park Farm is a must for the children. Its only down the road close to the Abbey.
I love the walks from the site along the river or over the moor.
There is a Vodaphone mobile signal at the bottom of the doggy walk close to the fence. Not sure about other providers.
All in all a great site.
beautiful spot
Visited here in April. Quiet pleasant site, facilities all kept very clean and are well heated. Caravan club could save some money by fitting thermostat to dishwashing room radiator as it was always very hot in there! Wardens friendly and happy to answer questions. Good site to bring dogs due to very close proximity to Bolton Abbey estate - woods right on doorstep. Sadly some dog owners didn't seem able to pick up dog waste in the site dog walk area despite a bin being available by the entrance gate. Nice tearoom just outside gates for lovely cakes and a light lunch - take in a Bolton Abbey leaflet to get a free cream tea if you buy a hot drink. No mobile reception so we used wifi to keep in touch with the teenagers left at home.
Tranquil weekend
Excellent weekend. Very pleasant staff and the site was clean, quiet although the weather was wet but it did not spoil the weekend. Easy to visit the area and a lovely walk along the river to Bolton abbey from the campsite. I would recommend this site to anyone. Just be aware that you need an analogue television to receive programs.
