Season Opening Day

We were the 3rd in line 20 mins after opening on St Patrick's Day, and the site was filling up fast. Stayed for a week and the only downside was the great British weather, I cannot fault this site, beautiful setting, fantastic for walking, great hosts and nothing was too much to help. See you again. Shame about network reception but Wifi worked well.

Beautiful setting!

Superb site with good clean facilities and direct access to Bolton Abbey estate (saving car park cost of £10!).New wardens lovely. The only thing which could have improved our weekend was better weather and not leaving the gin at home! Still had a lovely walk to the cafe despite rain showers. So good we've already booked again for June.Highly recommended.19.3.17

Great site and served a brilliant purpose.

My wife and I from Leeds wanted to escape the fireworks on Bonfire weekend as our beloved dog is a tad scared of them. This site was perfect with only 1 display going on at Bolton Abbey but was far enough away to not be a problem. Apart from escaping the fireworks we had a lovely weekend here and will definitely return for a chilled time. The hosts were great, very helpful and very friendly.

Excellent Bonfire Weekend

First time at Bolton Abbey CC site and really enjoyed it. Site team were great on arrival and guided us towards a great pitch, helpful as it was pitch black. As mentioned in other reviews there are some great walks from the site but the abbey is 2-3 miles along the Strid and is tiring if you've got little ones in the party. No park for the kids to run about on is my only slight niggle for families but absolutely loved it and will return (despite a heart in mouth moment at Bolton Abbey arch).

Always great

Being just an hour away from home, Bolton Abbey is our 'go to' site when we need a quick weekend away but don't have time to travel far after work on Friday. As such, we have visited three times over the past few months or so. The walking from the site is excellent, either up onto the moor, the fell or down the valley along the river. The walk up to Simon's Seat is tremendous and the view is more than worth the hard work to get there. Just be aware that dogs are not allowed on the high moor and fell, something that isn't always well signposted until you have completed quite a bit of uphill walking!  Last weekend we spotted hares in the woods up from the site and the birdlife is always interesting.  The site is usually busy but quiet. The wardens are always welcoming and helpful. The only downside for this site is the noisy extraction/boiler exhaust on the sanitary block which, can be heard across much of the site. Having said that, I always appreciate the hot water and spotless facilities but the noise does seem more than on other CC sites.  This is a highly recommended site and one we plan to visit again soon.

OCT BREAK

What a really nice place. Peace and quiet, pitches a little tight on size but we just fit on with awning. Kids on a downer with no phone or Internet signal, TV was plug in analogue with 8 channels. Unfortunately all I got was a snowy BBC and itv, but lucky enough got a gap in the trees for satallite tv. Didn't see a play Park so marked one star off for families. Walks offsite are fantastic, easy to follow and well laid out. The abbey is within 2 1/2 miles, when we were there they had the pumpkin hunt on. The welly walk is another plus for the kids on the far bank from the abbey, with activities back to the halfway cafe and toilets...watch put for the penny log, most unusual. £8 parking if you don't want to walk. Abbey worth a look at. Be carefully of the narrow arch on arrival with wider caravans or motor homes. I'm told it's over 9' but it feels much narrower. Will go again in the future. Thanks for a lovely break.

Excellent site!

We did not risk driving through the Bolton Abbey arch so took a 20 minute detour via Grassington. When we did arrive, we really enjoyed our stay. Site is well located near Stridd cafe/bus stop and decent walks through woods and along River Wharf to Bolton Abbey. Shower block clean and site well kept with friendly staff. Only downside is that electric/TV hook-up points can be quite a distance from your outfit. We had to purchase a longer TV cable (£15) from club site shop to allow us to receive the 8off analogue channels.

Fab weekend !!!

We had lovely warm welcome from the wardens they were friendly and very helpful,as it was our first visit we had quite a few questions which they answered with patience. The site is in such picturesque surroundings with walks to suit all abilities that start from the site, but there are so many interesting attractions close by. We visited Grassington and Skipton and had such a lovely time, we can recommend the "The coffee House" on Coach St, Skipton good coffee, service and reasonably priced. The Stridd Wood Tea Rooms are right at the entrance of the site and serve lovely tea, coffee and food.
