Fantastic location

When we booked this site, because we were joining friends there, I thought it was expensive. Well worth the money, it's a beautiful sight with the most enormous pitches. You could chose your own,we moved once as it wasn't very level, our fault as we're lazy with levelling blocks on motorhome, but no problem.walks from here are amazing, the roaches awesome, and a lovely farmhouse coffee shop up there. No hurry to make us leave on last day, lovely wardens, a truly lovely break. Three horseshoes  across the way serves a good pub meal, and Leek on a Saturday has the best market this side of the continent!

Very nice break

We were visiting Alton Towers and decided to stop for two nights at Blackshaw moor which was very well sited for commuting back and for, the staff were very friendly and the site itself was clean and tidy and well layer out. We had a great time there and would definitely recommend it

First weekend away

Arrived for a nice long weekend for our first outing of the year on the Friday. We love coming to Blackshaw Moor it's not far from home and we're always given a good welcome. The weather was great, went into Leek on the Saturday, and walked around Tittesworth lake on the Sunday, which was benificial due to the opening of a new path. Looking forward to going back soon.

Excellent weekend

Wanted a weekend away but not far from home. Arrived Friday evening after work and site was full but the wardens had kept a space for our motorhome. Pitch was easy to get onto and level. Weather was good and we walked round Tittesworth Reservoir on Saturday. Keen to watch the rugby as 6 nations on, TV signal was good. Great weekend.

Great site with excellent facilities!

We chose this site for our first outing in our new caravan. Upon arrival, the wardens guided us to our pitch; helped us to use the new motor-mover and ensured we were all set up ready for a brew! They really made our first experience unforgettable. The facilities here are thoroughly cleaned and has everything you could possibly need; including a fish & chip van on a Saturday night! Child and dog friendly we really enjoyed our stay; we've since booked our return visit for the summer!

Good Site with Good Views

Just returned from a pleasant stay on this site. It is terraced with good views of the countryside. Easy to find and easy access. We do not mind road noise, but there has to be some as it is on a main road. The toilet block we used was EXCELLENT, warm, and fitted out to a very high standard and always spotless. The downside for us is that we like to go a little walk in the evening. There is a path at the side of the A53 but there are lorries going by. 2 places to visit are Rudyard Lake and Tittesworth Reservoir, but we found them EXTREMELY busy on a Sunday. Another interesting little place is Flash (there is a sign which says the highest village in Britain). If we return we shall go midweek as the area is not so crowded then.

Blackshaw Moor Lovely weekend

Just had a night at Blackshaw Moor, lovely site. The wardens were usual caravan club, friendly, helpful and efficient. The facilities were brilliant, lovely and warm and exceptionally clean at all times. Took a lovely walk to the reservoir visitor centre on Sunday morning very pleasant. Shame the nearest pub is not dog friendly but didn't ruin a lovely weekend. Can't wait to return

Great Family Site.

We visited this site in early October. We went with friends and had six kids between us and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the site. We spent one day at Alton Towers which was 20 minutes drive. There is also loads to do very close to the site. The wardens where amazing, friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Facilities were spotless. A great site for everyone.

Halloween Heaven

We have visited this site many times, very often at October half term, and return time and again because it's fab!  This time we could only manage Halloween weekend and arrived Friday evening with 2 granddaughters in tow. 1 & 3 years. This is the last weekend before the site closes, so I suppose you half expect the site and the wardens to be jaded, but this was definitely not the case of either. A lovely friendly and very helpful welcome giving us several fun activities to do with the 3YO, you couldn't ask for anything more.  The site is lovely. We always opt for the bottom of the site, the traffic noise not really bothering us at all. Lovely big pitch pointed out by the wardens when I told them the area we wanted to go on.  Leek is a fantastic town and over the years we have visited we have seen a great deal of regeneration with some great independent shops opening up. They offer their own daytime "trick or treat" for the little ones and this was brilliant - a real hit.  Tittesworth Resevoir near to the site is also well worth a visit. Lovely long walks / short strolls / cafe / play area, even undercover BBQ area. One of the best we have visited.  We will definitely return next year and can't recommend this site and the wardens enough.
