Sunny Blackers

Just returned from a sun kissed week, our pitch was where we asked to be sited and was clean and tidy. The rules for covid are plain and simple although not everyone could grasp the simple concept of popping a green band on a hook when using toilet facilities, much to the dismay of the wardens. The site is easy to find from the M55 and central to either Blackpool to Lytham St Annes with easy access to places further afield. We didn't use the site dog walk as we find them too small, we found a longer long from site, turn right then first left up a small road for 100 yds or so, take a little snicker and follow that to the back of the meerkat/roller blade centre (big locked gates) but there is a gap at the side of gates, walk round roller centre to bottom and left back to site. A little cafe only 10 min walk from site (turn right out of site) also garden centre as well. The weather was fantastic all week, wore t-shirt and shorts everyday, not often able to say that on that coast. Our first visit to the site and , yes, we would go again.

Great Site

We only stayed here for one night over bank holiday as it was was booked up the rest of the time. Great site, check in was seamless and easy. Pitches are nice and big, we got a pitch at the back of the site with nice shady trees for the dogs. Toilets and showers were spotless when we used them. I liked the fact that there was one toilet open when they were cleaning the blocks as it enabled me to go just as we were leaving after we had emptied ours!

Lack of cleaning and Safety

A lovely little caravan site which was let down by overflowing bins, toilets will no toilet paper and sanitiser dispensers either empty or not working, this was just not a one off as what we experienced over the weekend. Certainly not as the usual club standard, a positive was as we are a large MH the wardens reserved a suitable pitch for us (shame this does not happen on other sites), just not the best as the MH next to us had the door on the 'wrong' side so were facing us, I have no issue with this but was too close to us and they should have been asked to park differently.

Excellent Wardens. Excellent Site

Just returned from a two week stay on Blackpool South. Julie could not have been more helpful (and efficient) in booking my disabled parents in, in their caravan, along with myself and my wife in our Motorhome and my Brother and his wife in his caravan. Julie made sure we were all on adjacent pitches. You normally park your car in front of the Motorhome or Caravan, but as ours is a long Motorhome, Julie gave us the option of parking our car in a nearby unused pitch which we took advantage of When my parents ran out of Gas, they thought they would be able to replace it onsite. However, they don't sell Gas Bottles there. This isn't a problem as Julie directed us to the nearby Lancashire Gas who have a vast supply of whatever you need. The nearby Morrisons also do Gas. The rules around the use of facilities are clearly posted and the use of the rubber bands is very clear, although some appeared to misunderstand and took the bands into the facilities with them as opposed to hanging them on the peg when entering and putting them back in the bucket when leaving. I read in one review that the site is in an industrial site and that there are no shops for five miles. This is untrue. I didn't see any industrial site getting to the CAMC site. Asda, Tesco and Morrisons are all within a two mile radius. There is a Garden Centre on Cropper Road (turn left as you come out of the site and it's about half a mile down the road) which has Dahlia's Cafe. Very nice food and the English Breakfast was excellent. Lots to do...Blackpool Zoo, The Tower, Lytham and Lytham St Anne's to name a few. Great site, great Wardens. Thank you Julie and the team

Great base for exploring Blackpool and the Fylde Coast

This was our first stay on a club site and we were not disappointed. The lovely warden Julie made sure on arrival everything was explained to us, she gave us local advice on where to go, where to eat and also helped us choose a pitch. This personal touch was fantastic and if every site is like this we can’t wait to return! The site is extremely well kept and managed, the wardens clearly take great pride in their work. The location is ideal to explore Blackpool and the surrounding area. It’s close enough to access everything but far enough away from all the Blackpool attractions and associated noise so a great base to explore from. A nice small enclosed dog area, play ground for children and easy to access from the M55. There is a supermarket close by and it’s a very accessible site. I imagine during the summer / autumn season and when the illuminations are on this will be a very poplar site. Very safe and secure, ideal for children too. We stayed during the first May bank holiday and the site was virtually full but didn’t feel overcrowded. An hours walk from the pleasure beach or 45 minutes to Stanley park, Blackpool Zoo and the Model village (which we visited) is a great attraction as they also allow dogs. Only a few miles to lovely Lytham beach if you want somewhere a bit quieter than Blackpool. We would certainly return as there’s lots more to explore in the area, a nice site with lovely wardens - thank you!

Superb Staff and facilities

We cannot thank the staff on this site enough. As complete beginners they were patient with our probably very dumb questions, advised on everything from the facilities, Covid etc.to the local area and transport even to where to find the best Fish & Chips! They were just great and in our opinion kept the site spotless.

Model Wardens maintain a site you must visit

Wow it is so wonderful to be back on a CAMC site, even accepting the facilities being limited. What a welcome we received from Wardens Julie & Glen, a friendly wave, beaming smiles and a warm welcome as always. Clear Covid signage, water points cleaned thoroughly, bins emptied regularly, grounds constantly maintained and the toilet block cleaned impeccably everyday. The Wardens are so hard working, they never stop, polite, professional and so friendly and helpful, what ever you ask of them. The site is a haven for the Flyde coastline, as well as all the venues inland. Above all the Wardens make a site and here it is a model site and an example of one best most friendly welcoming CAMC sites across the country.
