It is what it says.

This site was great for access to Blackpool and surrounding area. Lytham and St. Anne’s are lovely. It is just off the M55 and an industrial estate so not a quiet rural retreat but it was exactly what we expected.

Reception

Arrived after a long tiring drive, trying to get my legs to work after sitting for such a long time. I walked into reception.  No pleasantries at all. I asked for which pitches would be available in a quiet area of the park, so her first suggestion was right by the site entrance and exit, opposite reception. It doesn't take a brain surgeon to work out that pitch would be one of the busiest with cars passing in front, behind and alongside too. After offering another 5 pitches, all in the same location, we finally got a pitch that wasn't in such a bad area. The gentleman in reception was great, sat back out of the way while the female warden  took over everything. He was pleasant, asked about my journey, exactly how you would expect to be greeted at a holiday site. Such a shame my holiday was made depressing as soon as I arrived. Is this a new standard of warden for the club, please let's have people who are happy to help.

Our Favourite site.

We have just returned from our holiday after extending it for 2 more days, having a wonderful peaceful holiday with good weather as well. Having red all the nasty reviews on this site I am disgusted with the comments I read. Julie and Glen have worked so hard through the pandemic to keep the site so beautiful I think is remarkable we had not problems at all unlike the nasty remarks from other members what do they expect. Julie and Glen are the best wardens ever at Blackpool south nothing is ever too much trouble so helpful in every way a genuine peoples person couple and well respected by so many, not only a credit to the caravan club but also to themselves. many thanks and kind regards to all at Blackpool south. Mr and Mrs Hayes.

Absolutely amazing for families

We booked here as it is close to family we were visiting. We were traveling with a toddler and baby and were not expecting this to be a family-focused caravan park. We selected it as a base really but were absolutely delighted when we arrived. The park was absolutely ideal and acts as a hub for all the kids on site. My daughter had the best holiday playing happily in a safe and enclosed environment. The facilities are absolutely immaculate and well laid out. Easy to access, close to all pitches. It really was spotless and the staff managed covid guides extremely well and made us feel safe. We will definitely make this an annual fixture. It works so well for the kids and was such a nice site. You barely new you were situated in Blackpool. But if you do want to venture in, the main attractions are around 10 mins down the road, and so is (what I think is Blackpools best beach) St Anne's Beach. Book and ejoy!

Way short of the Caravan Club standards

The site is very disappointing. On arrival the reception staff were rude and very unhelpful, I nearly turned around and drove out the gate then but I'd already been on the road a long time and had nowhere to go. I did search nearby sites but everywhere was full. The site sits on the back of an industrial estate right next to a busy dual carriageway. The road noise is considerable and constant. It's far from peaceful. There's little to no dog walking apart from the very small 'Dog Walk' Which appears to be a standard pitch with a chain fence around it. The facilities were dirty. The showers had no shower curtains, The bins were often over flowing and the reception appeared closed most of the time. The only thing that's good about it is the proximity to Blackpool, it's a 10 min drive into town but for us We'll never stay here again unless the staff are changed and the cleanliness improved It's way below par for the usual standards of the Caravan Club.

Not the best place

I was disappointed with the site, the reception was unwelcoming, I asked were was the best place to pitch up, and the answer was why doesn’t your dog get on with people! Well yes the dog does, I just wanted to know we’re the best place was to pitch up rather than driving around the site as it was busy, she could not answer me, after finding a pitch on 33 we were all set and thought it ok, the person opposite came out and greeted us, felt like he wanted to tell us something about were we were, but didn’t, at tea time we realised we were in the wrong spot as we were sandwiched between two travel families who did not respect our space or us, at one point on the Wednesday they were up until 1.30 am singing Sweet Caroline. The site had more travellers dotted around the site, and there was a continual to’ing and fro’ing from them, my wife told me the showers were dirty, full of hair, we won’t be going again.

not your usual standard

Visited this site during August. This site is not what you would expect from the Caravan club. Arrived on site to see a security officer with a dog patrolling then to be told that there were issues with members from the Traveller community. We were given the option to not check in and to leave but having been out on the road touring for 3 weeks we didn't have anywhere else to go and it would have been nice to have been contacted prior to attending. Once checked in we were told not to let our children be out alone on the site. Not to use the play park and not to go to the toilet block alone due to the issues that were occurring. We were told which pitches to use that we would be safer on as bailiff's had been called to evict the travellers. Fortunately the campsite returned to some normality after a few days but the cleanliness of the toilet block was suffering, cubicles not in use, mess everywhere and the washer and tumbler out of use due to being broken by the travellers. This was an issue for us as we needed to wash clothes having been out on the road for sometime but the warden was not friendly in her approach and appeared very stressed. Later in our stay, families who had no respect for other causing issues, drinking all day around the caravan but allowing their children to run feral around other peoples caravans until 2300 hours then having a karaoke in the awning until very late. allowing their children to play on the park until 2300 hours screaming and shouting playing football when signs clearly say no ball games. The pitch we stayed on was large and flat but was by the main road and was very noisy throughout the day and night. A couple of the wardens were lovely and friendly and were sympathetic towards the situation but one in particular wasn't. She was very friendly and we got the impession that customer service was not her good point and said the caravan site was hard work. The toilet block is old and tired and ready for upgrading. Fairly good location and easy to get to Blackpool, Lytham and areas around it but we would not visit this site again.

Never again

Second time at this site this year but will not return. Be aware that multiple traveller families stay there every year during August and have no respect for the site, the rules, safety, the wardens or other families staying on site. They caused chaos. The CMC need to think about their regular members who will vote with their feet and leave the club in droves should this be allowed to continue. Many people left early and had we been able to go to our next site early we would have done the same. For the first time ever we felt unsafe on a club site, not nice.

Lovely Site

We stayed for 5 nights in the middle of August and found it a lovely clean site, well kept and with excellent facilities. Pitches are very large and level and access is easy for those of us without a motor mover. It’s a great location for access to Blackpool and Lytham with both only a 10 minute car ride away. We found all the staff very friendly and helpful and will definitely be booking to stay here again.

Good location, staff not so great

Very handy for Blackpool. We took a taxi fir about £9. All day family tram ticket £12. Pitches are spacious and facilities good. Night time quiet and other rules aren’t well policed or observed in our experience. Staff on check in quite rude and unhelpful. Didn’t see much of staff at other times and reception didn’t seem open most of the time. Only booked for two nights but still left early. Not somewhere I would recommend or return to except for the location. It’s a pity and not the usual standard I expect from the caravan club.
