Shame about the Travellers!

We arrived on Sunday 16th June. Lovely staff member advised us on a nice quiet pitch ( we haven't stayed here for a few years). Pitched up and had a walk round. We noticed several caravans of the same make pitched by the children's play area. After seeing several Van's coming and going with men we realised they were traveller families. I have no problem with anyone as long as they abide by the rules, something Travelling families find difficult. The Van's were driving round the site offering people various boxes of gardening equipment and one even offered a generator! The toilets were cleaned and within half an hour the children were using the ladies as a play area, running up and down screaming and banging doors and toilet seats. The toilets were littered with knickers, bras, shampoo, toilet paper, wipes and dirty nappies. We reported this, the poor couple running the site were tearing their hair out. The atmosphere was tense at best all weekend. Having read Google reviews this seems to have happened in previous years. We are really worried that the relaxed rules allowing commercial vehicles will mean travellers are welcomed at all the club sites. We will not be renewing our membership if this is the case! So in all, the site is in a great location, have a great team running the site and would be great if travelling families not permitted which is the case at most caravan sites.

Flooded pitch

Always enjoy my stay here unfortunately this time I had to cut my stay short as I seemed to pick the only pitch to flood. Everything in the awning ruined . Will still return as only bad experience I’ve had and loved visiting the site.

Lovely site

Visited Sat 18/19 May. Stayed at the site for the first time. Only did one night, but really liked it! Within a short (10-15 min) drive of Blackpool and Lytham. Ideally located, not far from the motorway. I was aware, from other reviews about the road noise, but the warden did mention which was the quieter side of the site, to be fair, we decided it didn't matter which pitch we had, they are all good pitches. Didn't really hear much noise during the day, more obvious in the evening. Hasn't stopped us from making it a regular site for us. Lovely garden centre/cafe (with dog menu!!) within 15 minute walk down the lane. Also, a roller rink/meerkat/animal corner/skate park on the same lane. Great base for the area. (By car). Even though only given the site  a 3 rating for families, there are plenty of family friendly things to do nearby

Above and Beyond

Just returned from a short break and we have to mention Assistant Wardens Steve and Di. We had a bit of a problem but they came to our rescue, thank you both so much, you are a credit to the Club.

Everything a TCC Ltd site should be.

My wife and I stayed between 9/4 to 14/4 April and found everything as it should be. Our welcome from Julie was warm and informative. Our pitch (35) was south facing so sunny all day ( we caught a good week) The toilet blocks were very clean and despite other comments to the opposite view we both found the showers excellent with constant hot water and good flow. ( I heard there was a heater issue the week before, but now rectified ) When I came to start my Sorento on the first morning I found the battery flat!! A quick walk over to the office and Glen was immediately on hand with equipment to get me started. A quick ride to Motor Accessory( next to Febland) I met Carmel who immediately diagnosed the fault as a faulty cell and ordered me a very competitively priced replacement battery and fitted it the following day So in summary, great Wardens, clean and well maintained site and amazingly helpful in an emergency. What more can I say. Thank you Caravan Club

Clean But Out Dated Shower Block

Wardens very polite and welcoming. Shower block clean but cold and out dated could do with a upgrade, shower cubicles very small and water pressure non existant in showers and loos. Don't understand why the 1.00pm arrival ? Unfortunately we won't be returning.

Showers and 1pm arrivals

I was very disappointed in the showers on my recent stay. We’ve been coming to this site for many years and have never been cold but last week I was. I am an evening showerer. The first day I went across around 4pm to use the toilet and it was lovely and warm so decided to shower then- very fortunately as I went at 6pm and it was freezing. The next day it was cold at 5pm. I gave up that night. In the end I had to go around 5pm or freeze. Morning showerers got a better deal ~ it was warm in there well before 6am till around 9am. A notice on the wall stating what times the heating would be on would be appreciated. I love this site once I get on it. Hate the 1pm arrival. 12pm was bad enough but 1pm means peak traffic and a wasted day. We always leave first thing in the morning on day of departure. I think a split system of arrivals would be fairer. I understand weekenders want to stay longer and if they are arriving late afternoon on a Friday and leaving 12 on a Sunday fine but others want to come earlier and leave earlier and this should be accommodated.

Just love everything about Blackpool South Club Site

I was new to caravanning this year, having bought a Swift Basecamp in April. There's only myself and my 9 year old son, however, the wardens are always very helpful from the first visit to the site. As the Blackpool Club site is close to my storage site, I have visited the site about 5-6 times this year, from long weekends to just one night a couple of times, as its that flexible using this club. The site is perfect and brilliant for families as the location for Blackpool and Lytham is fantastic at this site, with Lytham 10-15 minutes away and Blackpool just 5-10 minutes. The site itself is very clean and all the facilities are also very clean and well looked after. The pitches are great location. We prefer to go to the right as we come in as the site is quieter towards that side. As mentioned, the wardens are very helpful and genuinely nice people, they even helped me when my jockey wheel slipped out, to ensure I could get going ASAP. Just gutted now that the site is closed for winter, but the wardens deserve their break. Already booked in again for next year and cant wait!!

First time staying on Blackpool site

Lovely site and facilities clean. Wardens very friendly The negatives Too far from Blackpool and no bus service nearby. Road noise Very narrow approach road - hence 1pm arrival Two barriers to go through to enter site Not open all year
