Our second visit to this lovely site

We stayed at this site last year and enjoyed it so much we booked a return visit. We had a friendly welcome by the site managers and pitched on a lovely sunny pitch. The facilities block is excellent and very clean, lots of leaflets in the Information room and plenty of takeaway vans on site if you don't fancy cooking (we can recommend the pizzas!). We were also delighted to see the site was participating in 'No Mow May' with just the grass pitches and a small area around the hardstanding being mowed - the wildflowers and wildlife we saw was an added bonus to our stay at this site. We will return again soon.

Probably our favorite CAMC site

We stayed here w/e 20th May 2023. This is probably our favorite CAMC site. There's no point in saying how good it is, just read the other reviews. We did notice a few things which could be improved, but certainly did not spoil our time there:- 1. The cattle grid at the site entrance needs attention as it makes a loud bang every time a vehicle goes over it. 2. The light in the bollard immediately at the back of pitch 82 didn't work. We saw the warden examining it but it didn't work during the 3 nights we were there. 3. The road which contains pitch 82 needs some kind of "no through road" sign at it's entrance, as we saw a number of units drive down it, and having a big job at turning round. It would seem they were intending to go down the road immediately to the rear which isn't a dead end road. 4. On the Friday evening, a burger trailer attended the site, but the board advertising this was only put out during the day, (or possibly only when it arrived) so anyone leaving site in the morning would not be aware of the facility and perhaps make other arrangements. When we arrived on the Thursday, there were boards advertising Mondays and Wednesdays, I think, but definitely nothing for Fridays.

Great site, great site managers.

We stayed at the Black Knowl Club site at the over the coronation weekend. The weather was changeable but this didn’t dampen our spirits to cycle the new forest. The site is in a great location, just 10 minutes by bike to Brockenhurst centre. The site itself was immaculate. The facilities were recently rebuilt and were top notch. The pitches were good size and well spaced apart. The absolute best part though, are the site managers. As well as a very friendly welcome, Peter and his wife got me out of a big hole when I lost the keys to the campervan 2 days into our stay. I was not able to either access or get home in my vehicle. Without going into all of the detail, they both truly went above and beyond and really did save the day for my party of 3. What excellent hosts and all round good eggs. If CAMC are looking for the model site managers, then that need look no further. We hope to be back soon.

First class

Another lovely stay. First class facilities. The wardens work extremely hard & go about there ‘duties’ with a smile. They have time for everyone & nothing is too much trouble. Despite the weather during the Kings Coronation they put on lovely gathering. We highly rec this site ( returning again in August) It sits in a lovely convenient location within easy walking distance to ‘ Brock’ of about 25-30mins ( longer if bad weather as have to avoid the flooded areas!)

Lovely to be back again

It was lovely to arrive back at Black Knowl. It was just so silent when we stepped out of our van and although the weather was not so good we thoroughly enjoyed our four night stay. The wardens were very helpful and cheerful, the site was immaculate the location in the forest is stunning. In addition to Forest walks we had a lovely day out in Lymington and then on to Milford on Sea. We found parking spaces for our 6.5m motorhome with ease in both places. We recommend the beach front carpark at Milford where Motorhomes can overhand the low verge and the walk out over the shingle towards the castle is lovely.

Brilliant site

Cannot praise this site too highly. The wardens are extremely pleasant, friendly and helpful. The toilet/shower blocks are kept very clean. Very quiet and calm. Pitches sizes good. Marvellous for dog walks in the forest. Will definitely come back again.

Lovely quiet site in the New Forest

Stayed here for 6 nights over the Easter weekend. Staff friendly and helpful as always. Site fully booked but no queuing for the facilities and not noisy. Chilli van came to the site and food was delicious. Unfortunately the fish and chip van didn’t come the week we were there and there was also pizza available on another night but we’d already eaten so didn’t try it. Access to site is straightforward from the M27. Easy to access Brockenhurst and other towns and villages. Lyndhurst is always busy with traffic but the New Forest was quiet despite it being a bank holiday. We had a lovely time away in our caravan.

Relaxing New Year Break

We booked this site last minute as we wanted to get away for new year with our 2 dogs and what a fantastic find. We have a motorhome so our plans were to do lots of walking whilst there and the previous reviews mentioned a footpath into town. Unfortunately on our visit, the footpath across the moor was impassable due to flooding on the day that we wanted to go into town, however this did not spoil our day as it just turned into a great game for our 18 month old Cockapoo who decided that the flooded moors were his own personal swimming pool and he had the time of his life splashing around in the water. We walked down the main entrance track road and along the main road to Forest Park, a nearby hotel for drinks one evening. It is about a 40 minute walk from the site and was such a lovely venue and the dogs were made very welcome with biscuits offered to them on arrival. It is not the cheapest place to eat or drink but the staff were superb so we felt it was worth it. We moved pitch on our third day as the wind was really picking up and we were up on the elevated section so moved to the lower section near the exit barrier and it was much more sheltered down there. The facilities were superb with many toilets and showers. The motorhome service point was great too as it was a drive over grid for draining the tanks which we prefer. This site was very peaceful and we will definitely return again.

such a peaceful site in the midst of New Forest beauty

This site has been updated with wonderful washroom facilities. There are no busy roads to negotiate after leaving the site. In fact 5 ponies cantered past me just outside the site! You feel like you are at one with nature. A big "thank you" to the cheerful, helpful staff with plenty of advice on walks and the local area. They even went out of their way to post back my gloves that I left in the dishwashing area! This site is a gem!
