New Forest Hideaway!
Just spent another 2 night midweek break here. Always a warm welcome from friendly helpful wardens. Always a joy to spend time here.
Excellent position for walking, cycling or just relaxing down by the Ober Water river close by.
Yes the facilities need modernising. But they are kept spotlessly clean AND, I saw a notice that said the site is now OWNED by the CC so plans are in place to update it.
Family friendly.... ? Well the place is perfectly placed for children to experience the Forest which is the best of playgrounds and our 4yo Granddaughter loves it. But, for those seeking only peace and tranquility, I can understand their frustration. No play area on the site and yes the children like to ride their bikes and scooters, but they are all so good at jumping off to the side as soon as a car comes along. And usually they respect the invisible boundaries... But they are children and forget? I have found on rare occasion at other sites they will always respond well to a polite request and a smile!
So maybe this is one of those sites that one needs to consider how popular it might be in the school holidays and weekends?
