Our favourite site

Our third visit in last three years which says it all. So peaceful as soon as you enter the site. Warm welcome and extremely pleasant and sociable wardens. The toilet block brings a smile due to its quirks but this is all to change over next 12 months due to alterations to site. Seems to be a particularly friendly site and we renewed friendships made in previous years and made new ones as well which only adds to pleasure of the holiday.

Brilliant location, dated facilities

The location is perfect; surrounded by woodland with walks, cycle routes and Brockenhurst on the doorstep. The site is open and spacious and the wardens very helpful and friendly. The downside of the site is the state of facilities which are in great need of refurbishment. This is a popular site with dog owners.

Lovely week at Brockenhurst but bad weather

This is a lovely site and we had a great weeks stay here, although the weather could have been better. The only negative I can say is the shower block, but apparently this is being refurbished next year. The happiest wardens I have ever met and the people staying on this site were so friendly. Will come back when the new shower block is finished.

Lovely weekend

We have just spent a lovely weekend at this campsite, although the shower facilities are somewhat out of date I understand that they are being completely refurbished in the not too distant future. The site itself is in a wonderful location in the New Forest, lovely surroundings and delightful walks, there's lots to do in the surrounding area. We visited Lymington and had a fantastic lunch in Stanwell House which is dog friendly. The staff on site were brilliant really helpful and friendly. We will definitely be going back.

Location is all

One of our favorite sites. This one is all about location, yes the facilities are dated but if you read the notices the club has finally be able to purchase the site and a major refurbishment is planned, should be one of the best on the network when done. The site is lovely and quite but why do people insist on dragging their waste containers around at 6 am, if you must empty it that early please carry it back to your van. With acres of space at the gate there is plenty of walking and biking routes available.

Very tired shower/toilet facilities

A superb site run by excellent wardens who were always friendly and helpful. I am sure the condition of cleanliness was down to the energy of the wardens to keep this very tired shower / toilet block up to scratch. Come on caravan club put this right as it is spoiling a genuine gem.

Location location

It has been 16 years since I have been to Black Knowl and it was always one of my favourites.  However things have changed.  On the positives the location would be hard to beat and the wardens were lovely. Unfortunately the negative list is a lot longer. The showering facilities are dated and in need of replacements they are a poor representation of a caravan club site. Every window we looked out of we seemed to be looking into someone elses caravan and it looked over crowded and higled de pigled de.  No wifi! Really poor in this day and age. There has been a lot of talk about this site being refurbished and I really hope it happens soon as we wont return until this happens.

Overwhelmed!

I've stayed at this site for 15 years (not literally you understand) and the wardens this year are a breath of fresh air! Warm relaxed welcome. "Been before? You know what to do then!" No great list of rules or draconian telling offs! Lovely. Accommodating. Fun! (Except that bloke on the tractor who didn't put my power cable back straight and perpendicular after he moved it to cut the grass!) However... what I have noticed is how members have changed over 15 years... heads up and say hello to your fellow members.  Engage. Relax... and enjoy! Oh and don't be 30 minutes late leaving!!! (We had permission to stay later) but we left just after 12 and to say it took a while would be an understatement as there were a dozen outfits coming in on the road. Our fault! # audible tuts and sighs all around from them coming in... back in August for two weeks so watch out!

One of our favourite sites

This is an amazing site with ponies, forests & streams a short walk away. The wardens are fantastic! They are friendly & hard working. The only thing letting it down is the toilet block.
