We were so lucky to get a front row pitch this week with amazing views over the sea, and Harbour. Our Motorhome is 7.4m and just about squeezed onto the pitch without overhanging the access road at the rear. Any larger than this we think would cause a problem. The emptying points were a little awkward to get at, as the only accessible one for us was towards a dead end, with no room to turn around, so we had to back down. This was no problem however, but it did cause a bit of congestion at times. The site itself is very narrow and in parts, a little crowded. The toilet blocks and wardens are up to the usual high standard, the access road to the reception area only has room for one vehicle at a time. The arrival time is 1.00 pm but as ever, you get the early arrivals who are let onto the site well before that time, sometimes causing congestion through this small gateway. It is a site perfect for caravanners who have use of their cars, as there is so much to see and do in the area, so close to the Northumberlsnd coast. Not so easy for motorhomers however. There is a bus stop outside the site which takes you into Berwick, where you can get buses further afield. Berwick is walkable - about twenty minutes. The site is perfect for a one night stopover on the way further North, but any Motorhome over 7.5m would struggle to fit on a pitch.
Wonderful site
Have just returned from 8 nights on this site and would like to say what a wonderful site it was. Our first stay here but as always the facilities were excellent. Despite not being fortunate to have a sea view we found the site very quiet throughout the day. Yes, there are frequent trains but the noise is no where near as bad as many previous reviews state. The site is very well placed for Berwick and all its history and with the beach so close excellent for dogs.
If there was one point to improve on its the entrance as being so narrow access at certain times can be difficult especially at change over time at 1 pm. If only members would adhere to the time it would solve this problem, as on several days they were arriving closer to 12 noon.
Loved our stay and hope to return soon.

Berwick Seaview a well kept secret
Having read reviews about the site I was pleasantly surprised by it !! All those moaning Minnie's about the train noise need to think again , no real disturbance caused by the trains and we were pitched close to the line adjacent to the top tier wall, the site was quiet , very friendly , lovely clean toilet blocks , superb seaviews from 90 per cent of the site , 5 mins from a quiet safe beach Which was great for our Golden Retrievers who loved it , although no dog walk on site there are plenty of places to run them bordering the site.
Staff very helpful and unobtrusive, Berwick is a lovely tranquil place and its inhabitants warm and friendly , the site is very easy to find being 5 minutes from A1.
If you want a quiet break in the borders you have to visit the site which is not far from Bamborough , Holy Island
In closing once visited you will want to return
Pleasantly surprised
Having read some of the reviews which commented adversely on the facilities and train noise, I was very pleasantly surprised. The trains which are frequent during the day are relatively quiet and we're no problem, possibly because our attention was attracted by the wonderful view over the sea and Tweed estuary. The toilet facilities are as you would expect from a Club site and although the number of showers etc. are not great, I never had to wait for access, and cleanliness was excellent. It is worth heeding the advice posted on site about access in and out of the site between noon and 1.00 pm as despite earliest arrival time for new units being set at 1.00.pm, a queue is often formed from noon and can block the entrance. If visiting the area again I would be very happy to stay at Seaview.
Differing views
There seem to be many on the subject of the train noise. I can only think this is down to a personal level of noise pollution tolerance. We have stayed on this site a number of times, most recently 15th to 20th May, and as usual although we were well aware of the train noise we did not find it intrusive. The plus points of the fabulous views from the site, the easy walk into Berwick (or by using bus stop at site entrance) and access to dog friendly beach far outweigh this debatable downside. The ratio of showers to pitches seem fairly typical/adequate for a club site and were kept spotlessly clean. I would just say do not let poor reviews based primarily on train noise put you off but maybe try a couple of nights to decide for yourself and you may end up 'regulars' as we are.

Disappointing
Stunning view of the river and Berwick. That's the only positive comment I can make. The toilet and showers need updating, 5 showers in each for the whole site. Vehicle access around the site is tight and poor facilities for disposal of grey waste. Not a family site even though the beach is close by beware it is used by locals walking their dogs. The area around it run down and shabby.
We knew about the trains but didn't expect the thunderous noise.
Will not be returning. Very disappointed as we love the north east..

Great views
Stayed here last year. Site easy to get to from the A1.
Great views from pitch 70, and although the trains run along the back of the site (as stated in the site info) we weren't disturbed by them.
Short walk to the beach.
Only downside was no play area for kids.
Would stay again.
Wonderful 3 days.
What a wonderful site. Warm clean showers. Site nipping clean. Just a pity no play area hence the lower grading. Beautiful site and the trains in our opinion are a bonus we like listening to the sound to guess if passenger or cargo then count them along and watch them cross the Royal Border bridge! Also the Church clock chiming the hour is a wonderful part of this fantastic site. Can't wait to return. Missing the fabulous view already.
Trains - what trains!!
Just returned from a 6 night stay at Berwick. What a lovely site. The site and facilities were immaculate. The wardens were friendly and most helpful. We had the most amazing pitch at the back of the site with super views over Berwick and the Tweed estuary. One of those lovely views to sit, review your day over a nice glass of wine. A short walk from the site to Spittal beach is a must, look out for dolphins. The walk to Berwick and around the city walls is one not to be missed. As for the trains, which are clearly detailed in the club literature, were hardly noticed. As a note to all future visitors, the arrival time is 1 o'clock. Anybody arriving before that time had to sit and queue until the office was opened at 1 o'clock. Well done wardens! It is about time the arrival rules were adhered to.

Another wonderful stay.
Just returned from our annual visit to Seaview - 15yrs now. Another wonderful week of rest and relaxation in the sun. Great view from pitch 38, with the facilities and staff which always excel to a superior standard. We'll be back next year and beyond. Highly recommended!
