Disappointing

Stunning view of the river and Berwick. That's the only positive comment I can make. The toilet and showers need updating, 5 showers in each for the whole site. Vehicle access around the site is tight and poor facilities for disposal of grey waste. Not a family site even though the beach is close by beware it is used by locals walking their dogs. The area around it run down and shabby. We knew about the trains but didn't expect the thunderous noise. Will not be returning. Very disappointed as we love the north east..

Great views

Stayed here last year. Site easy to get to from the A1. Great views from pitch 70, and although the trains run along the back of the site (as stated in the site info) we weren't disturbed by them. Short walk to the beach. Only downside was no play area for kids. Would stay again.

Wonderful 3 days.

What a wonderful site. Warm clean showers. Site nipping clean. Just a pity no play area hence the lower grading. Beautiful site and the trains in our opinion are a bonus we like listening to the sound to guess if passenger or cargo then count them along and watch them cross the Royal Border bridge! Also the Church clock chiming the hour is a wonderful part of this fantastic site. Can't wait to return. Missing the fabulous view already.

Trains - what trains!!

Just returned from a 6 night stay at Berwick. What a lovely site. The site and facilities were immaculate. The wardens were friendly and most helpful. We had the most amazing pitch at the back of the site with super views over Berwick and the Tweed estuary. One of those lovely views to sit, review your day over a nice glass of wine. A short walk from the site to Spittal beach is a must, look out for dolphins. The walk to Berwick and around the city walls is one not to be missed. As for the trains, which are clearly detailed in the club literature, were hardly noticed. As a note to all future visitors, the arrival time is 1 o'clock. Anybody arriving before that time had to sit and queue until the office was opened at 1 o'clock. Well done wardens! It is about time the arrival rules were adhered to.

Another wonderful stay.

Just returned from our annual visit to Seaview - 15yrs now. Another wonderful week of rest and relaxation in the sun. Great view from pitch 38, with the facilities and staff which always excel to a superior standard. We'll be back next year and beyond. Highly recommended!

The only problem we had is the trains ,

The trains would start at 6:30 and go on all through the day till10:30 but you get woken up at 3:00 in the morning ,when there was one going by . Every thing Elsa was ok toilets are good the site is clean and no litter ,good beach near by The site entrance is a bit steep at first you can bottom your tow bar

En route to Scotlandd

A bit of a tight, steep approach road to the site, hence the sensible arrival time of 13.00hrs to make sure those leaving are gone. Bit of grounding on the approach road with our car trailer added to the grooves in the road. A fantastic view from most pitches on this site but can be a little noisy from the trains that pass the rear of the site. So many places to visit including Berwick and the Kings Own Scottish Borderers Museum. Very friendly Wardens, clean loo block, and well kept site due to busy wardens.

wonderful views

Just returned from a week at Seaview. It was our first visit to Berwick on Tweed and we shall certainly return. The site is very easy to find (even from the south - see previous review) and is laid out on a series of terraces, the view over the estuary and the town is brilliant from all the terraces and we spent lots of time enjoying the changing tides and views. There have been comments about the amount of space between pitches across the paths and due to the terraces you have to be a little bit more careful when manouvering into and out of the pitches but it is not a problem. Also we were worried about the comments on the railway line but although we were on the top terrace just below the railway it was not a problem and after a couple of hours you didn't even notice a train passing. Helpful, hardworking wardens, the site was clean and tidy at all times. The facilities were great, even though there is only one toilet block there are plenty of cubicles to cover busy times. the weather was cold and windy for a couple of days and it was wonderful to go into the warm toilet block (almost felt like moving in). Berwick is a lovely historic town, walking the walls, visiting the museums, shopping in many independent unique shops kept us close to home for most of the week but the rest of the Northumberland coast is worth a visit. There is a vast sandy beach within 5 minutes walk which our dog loved (very dog friendly area). Also there is an interesting hour long walk around the historic Spittal point led by a local guide Rene which I would recommend, she was fascinating. A lovely holiday

Good stay.

There are no instructions for arriving from the south. Follow A1 and take the A1167 signposted Spittal. Follow this road to the roundabout by Farmfounds then follow the directions as given on the Club website. DO NOT FOLLOW THE SAT NAV unless you want nightmares!

A pleasant stay

We stayed in early May and despite the cold wind we enjoyed our stay here. The staff were as usual very friendly and helpful. The facilities were excellent. I only have one critisicim and which, I guess, is unavoidable, but the train noise of the nearby railway line was a bit disturbing especially if your pitch is close to it.
