Inconsiderate People.

The site is beautiful but it is being spoilt by inconsiderate people. The train noise is fine if you want to avoid just park away from the back of the site. We have just been disturbed at 7 am by people leaving site and slamming doors and leaving engines running. Plus inconsiderate dog owners who just let their dogs bark. The few are spoiling it for the many who have delightful dogs and leave at sensible times. The view over the bay this sunny morning is a delight, plus the food:beer festival is a wonder to behold. So fellow caravan people please consider others.

Good Site

Just spent 8 days on this lovely site,if you get a pitch with a view out to sea or across the river to Berwick you've got it made. Berwick is a nice town with some good eateries,we especially liked the Queens Head where we had a fantastic lunch. We went by train to Edinburgh for £38 for two return tickets,a good day out. Plenty to do and see in Berwick,we hope to go back next year. Well worth the hike from Staffs. Thanks to the wardens for keeping everything in shape.

4 night stay August 2017

Love this site. We pitched our twin axle 'van at the back of the site, adjacent to the railway, and got a cracking view across the bay to Berwick. Trains, although quite frequent, are not as intrusive as say being adjacent to the constant hum of a main road. It wasn't a problem for us. Lovely walk into Berwick, or down onto Spittal beach with the dog. Check out the small French cafe in West Street. It's dog friendly, as are many places in the area, and serves lovely food. The site is also handy for visiting many places of interest. Check out the villages of Ford and Etal, and the towns of Kelso, Alnwick, Rothbury, and Coldstream to name a few. Take the train from Berwick north or south, or travel to Tweedbank (near Melrose) and ride the new Borders Railway to Edinburgh. Can't wait to get back up there!

Our Favourite Site

We always love staying here. The view is to die for and the location is great for us. There are trains but they don't bother us. The site is compact but we are just so pleased that it is here. We have met many lovely caravanners during our trips here and never tire of it. There are no play areas and for us that is a big plus. Berwick is a very real town full of friendly people. Spital beach is very close and great for dog walking. The pier is close by (25 min walk) and the Town walls are really worth walking. All in all this is a great location. The Wardens go by the book and after all isn't that why we are all members of the club.

Liked by many but not for us

We recently stayed here for 7 nights. The facilities on the site were generally good and on par with most other sites. However we personally found the compact nature of this busy site and the rather drab nature of Spittal, the estuary and the outskirts of Berwick had a negative impact on our enjoyment of the holiday. It was also not helped by the railway noise, whilst not excessive you were constantly aware that sleep was only really possible between 11:00pm and around 6:30am when the trains stopped running (we were right next to the line at the top of the site). We personally would not use this site again but I accept it has a lot going for it and is liked by many others.

Thank you

We have returned from a six night stay at this site. Arrived after 6pm on a date when the site was full so really appreciated the wardens making sure there was a suitable sized pitch for our caravan, which is almost 8m long. We had lovely views from our pitch and found the trains did not bother us at all. The service points were the cleanest I have seen at a club site, and plenty of them. Found plenty to do in the area and will definitely be returning. It is a good stopover on the way north but don't make the mistake of only staying one night. For those who don't want to do too much cooking or eating out there is an M&S foodhall close to the sight, closer than Asda. Didn't mind the arrival and departure 'rules' as have found a lot of sites have them and look on it like checking in and out of a hotel. Thank you wardens for creating an atmosphere which helped make our holiday so good.

mwcaravaner

Just returned from 7 night stay. Staff very nice and site is in a perfect peaceful location. The site is a bit more crowded and tight than other sites we have stayed, I would also say that the site isn't as well kept as other caravan club sites, there is an area at the back wall that isn't cut, the bushes in front of us were badly needing trimmed and restricted our view. This said, it would not stop us from returning. The biggest complaint we have is the 1pm arrival, we have never heard of this on other sites and we felt it caused so much obstruction as there isn't enough room for more than one vehicle at entrance to the site. You have to leave the sight before 12 if you are already pitched and can't enter until after 1pm. I don't think this is an ideal way to run the site at peak season and not very fair on members already pitched when you have to watch what time you can go out and come back in the day! Makes no sense to close from 11am until 1pm. We Will return as we do like the location and staff.
