We spent one night here in July at the end of our three week summer trip. My team was playing against Berwick Rangers on the Tuesday night and I decided to go to the game. We had pitch 13 which has a clear view over Spittal and Berwick upon Tweed. It is one of the smaller non awning pitches on the site but our motorhome fitted fine for the one night. This is our fifth visit to this site and as a bit of a train buff I like the close access to the railway and I’ve been on sites which has been noisier than this site. We’ve always had helpful wardens at this site during our previous stays here. Access to the site can be tricky if you have a large unit to manoeuvre but the view is one of the best we’ve stayed at. My only opinion of the site is the toilet block could do with being upgraded to the standard of other sites we stayed at this year. The shower cubical are small and still have those white plastic stools instead of a fixed seating area within the cubical. The Wi-fi coverage is top class and the site in general good. Berwick has many interesting places to visit with an abundance of other options not that far away.
Euston on Tweed
We were disappointed with this site. It overlooks quite an industrial quay and the noise from the trains is regular and loud. Many of the pitches are very small and can be a fair walk from the one facilities block. Additionally the electric went off on two of our four nights, for a period of twelve hours on the second night, setting off an alarm in our van as the fridge was off for so long. The three grass pitches seemed to be a more generous size.
A lovely site in a great location
We visited this site at the beginning of the month as part of our Northumberland tour. It's a fairly exposed site and as we have a campervan with a pop-up roof we asked for advice on a sheltered pitch. It was suggested we used pitch 22 and although it had a sea glimpse and not a sea view, it was lovely and sheltered for us. Yes, the train line runs behind the site but the trains have come and gone in a few minutes - in fact after the first day we stopped noticing them and the site was far quieter than others we've visited which are near roads. The facilities are spotless and the wardens very friendly and helpful. There are plenty of walking trails - The Lowrie Trail, Castle Walks and Castle Parks trail in the local area. This is a great site and one we would revisit if we are in this area again.

our stay in july
good veiws wardens very helpful and freindly clean tidy site the only downfall was the noise from the trains and the site its self seemed very cramped and the the hill mid site was hard work pulling water hog
Another first visit
This was our third and last stop on our Northern trip. Wasn’t sure what to except as read some poor reviews, wasn’t disappointed a lovely site, well laid out, clean, tidy and excellent facilities. Managed to get a lovely pitch with a sea view, the site is terraced on the hill side of Spittal overlooking the Tweed estuary to Berwick, can get a bit breezy, we were fortunate with the weather. Yes the train does run at the back of the site, but it didn’t bother us, they had passed in seconds, and wasn’t all night, have had more noise from a road. Berwick town is very interesting, parking is free, a bonus, lots to see in the area. We went to Bamburgh, Seahouses, Eyemouth and even went on the train to Edinburgh for the day, £40 for two return with a dog, great day out. A walk round the Town walls is very interesting, and Lowry apparently loved Berwick and painted quite a few pictures of the town. Of course site well up to standards and wardens very pleasant and friendly. A long journey back to midlands bit well worth it, hope to return.
Be aware, peaceful it is not!
We have just had the mis-fortune to stay on this site, and despite the wonderful photos on the booking site, all is not what it seems. Not all the pitches afford wonderful views, and the site is blighted by the mainline London to Edinburgh train line running passed it. The row of pitches at the top far end are not fit for purpose, with only a leylandii separating us from the frequent trains causing our motorhome to shake, not a wink of sleep did we get which was disappointing given the long journey from the highlands to get there.
However credit where it's due, the site was clean and tidy but the front office was closed at 10am peak checkout time, perhaps this was to avoid any complaints!
I'm very quick to compliment, and therefore saddened to have to write a negative review.
I suggest that if booking, you might phone ahead and request a better front line pitch, also 1 night is more than enough, with very few local facilities.
An unexpected delight
To be honest we had not expected such wonderful views - why I don't quite know, it is called 'Berwick Sea View'! We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and the dogs loved their morning walk to the beach. The town is accessible on foot where the walls are very impressive. The wardens are friendly and helpful and keep the site immaculate.

Lovely position
Had a 4 day break at this site and will be going back!
Lovely view and good position for various walks and trips to other places.
Friendly staff and friendly locals.
Dogs are welcome at most places.
Try the small backstreet brewery and cafe.
Seaside Break
We stayed 2 nights at this lovely site. We had a nice view looking out towards the lighthouse. Site was immaculate, nice and peaceful even with a train line beside us which wasn't a problem. Lovely walk in to Berwick its self which took about 30 minutes and we went to the Ramparts which was very interesting. Spittal beach is just a 5 minute walk away which is lovely and we saw some dolphins. Beach very dog friendly and clean and we also walked to the lighthouse. All in all a very lovely stay.
Enjoyable 4 night stay
A very pleasant 4 night stay at this campsite. Excellent, cheerful and helpful staff. Facilities very clean and well cared for. Restful and quiet, particularly at night despite the proximity of the railway. Wonderful location overlooking the estuary with easy 20 minute walk into town and short walk to various shopping outlets (regular bus service also from just outside site). Spittal beach and promenade very close and Berwick-upon-Tweed a lovely town with many interesting things to see and do, not least the impressive town walls. Would love to visit again.
