Little Cracker

Lovely little site, nice warm welcome from Dee, one of the wardens. Wardens go the extra mile to keep the site spotless and has a fantastic display of flowers. Despite some of the reviews we found the site to be very peaceful. Good WiFi and TV signal, nice fully serviced pitch, Good facilities block. Plenty to see in the surrounding area including Leeds Castle and just a short to the coast , we went to Whitstable and Herne Bay. Shame we only booked for three nights, will come back for longer next time.

Not dog friendly at all

This site is definitely not dog friendly and it’s next to a very busy road . Booked for 2 night but only stayed 1 and will certainly not be going back !  After reading reviews we were going to wait till 1pm to check in , at 12.55 the lady in reception came storming out and shouted at me to hurry up and check in as she did T have all day .I said if it was a problem us staying we could easily turn round and go elsewhere , she did kind of apologise but I wish she had of said it was a problem so we didn’t have to stay .

A site to be proud of.

We stayed at the site for 3 nights. The wardens were very welcoming and obviously care a great deal about the site. The floral displays were excellent and the facilities spotless. The 10X Ashford to Maidstone service has stops very close to the site entrance. Buses about every hour. We were at the site mainly to visit Leeds Castle. One stop on the bus but you take your life in your hands crossing the A20. 1/4 mile walk to the driveway and a long walk to the entrance. I have some mobility issues and I cannot rate highly enough the assistance given by the Leeds Castle staff. Mini bus to take us to and from the entrance to the castle. Caravan Club discount saved us £6 each and you have free entry for 12 months. We have a motorhome. In future I would drive to the castle and park in the coach park, which is free of charge.

Lovely wardens

We stayed here for 1 night to visit Leeds Castle. The site is convenient, but otherwise the location and pitches are poor. I can forgive this because the wardens care about the experience we had; lovely little touches we have not seen at any other CAMC site

Friendly staff, shame about the internet signal

Upon arrival the staff were very helpful and quickly checked us into the site. Great location for local attractions like Leeds Castle, and other castles in the Kent area. Isle of Sheppey is close-by too if you want a quiet beach day. The only disappointment with this site is that the wifi signal can be too weak to be able to register for the wifi service and found myself using my phone instead. Apart from the Wifi, I would highly recommend this site.

Location - Not for us

Without a doubt a lovely clean and very well maintained site and super polite, helpful couple that manage the site. I’m noise sensitive at night making this location, off the M20/A20 a tricky sleep with throaty fast cars and big freight. There were also overnight road works on some nights that were humming and beeping in the background. The whoosh of trains on the main Euro Star line can also be heard, Unlike other sites, I didn’t come across a sign suggesting that recycling was processed once collected from the site but myself like some other visitors I spoke with were concerned not to use recycling bins, instead placing everything in together. For those like me needing overnight quiet, then this is probably not the site for you.

Great Site Excellent Wardens

Just come back from a short break and as usual the wardens Dee and Alan are excellent wardens supported by John, as they are always their ready to help.and the site is kept to a high standard and a pleasure to visit. Unfortunately there other members of the club who let it down by not adhering to club rules and no consideration to other members. Will look forward to our next trip here.

Angry male warden puts us on edge

We love Bearsted site for its location and amenities. It’s small and ideally placed for trips into Kent or a walk into Bearsted Green (two great pubs). We have been coming here for years. However, our last two trips have been somewhat marred by the attitude of the male warden. He is aggressive and polices the site at all times of day and night. He is almost looking for misdemeanours and will even pull you up on things he thinks you MAY be about to do! He is obsessed with where you can walk your dog (apparently not on the site - only on the dog walk) - but you cannot get to the dog walk without walking across the site!!! We were even stopped by him as we left the site with our dog asking us where we were going and why weren’t we using the dog walk. He clearly likes to keep things under strict control but I honestly think his attitude is wrong and maybe he is in the wrong job. His wife is wonderful, as are the other two wardens. We will continue to use the site for the reasons I stated before but we try to avoid any contact with him.

Dont Expect Peace and Quiet

The site is situated adjacent to the A20, the M20, HS1 rail and the Southeastern Rail London to Ramsgate line. It is also underneath local airfield approach lanes. Background noise is constant and at rush hour extremely so. Facilities are very clean but dated. Pros: Easy access from the A20, central location for visiting Canterbury and the North and East Kent Coast, short drive to Bearsted Rail Station. Cons:Difficult to exit during busy commute times as the exit is on a sweeping blind bend in a 60 mph limit, site can get very busy and cramped at the weekend, site is on the side of a valley so views are limited, no decent pubs within walking distance, public transport is a long walk away One last comment, as mentioned in other reviews, the male warden is possibly the rudest C&MC employee I have ever met in 40 years. Be warned!

Great stay

We had a great four days stay over the weekend. The site and facilities are very well maintained, Alan and Dee were very helpful and run a very good site. We walked our dog from the site to the woodland trust which is a lovely expanse leading to the green for dinner at the pub. If you have transport it’s worth visiting Mote park which has 450 acres to explore. My only comment is a little hedging around the pitches would give a little privacy. We will be back to stay later in the year.
