Busy site

We arrived at battle and the site was very full so we had to site on a pitch we wouldn't have chosen, some of the pitches are dark as they are overshadowed by the trees, which are lovely, but make some pitches a lot nicer than others. We were able to move the next day but that means not fully setting up on arrival and gave us not the best start to our holiday or the best of first impressions. We have stayed on full sites before that have maintained their feeling of space, Battle felt claustrophobic. We probably wouldn't stay here again.

Another great stay

Use this site once a year and it never disappoints.Toilets are clearly marked when they are to be cleaned so don,t use them then.As with all sites there is an earliest arrival time so don't arrive early.Top notch site well maintained.

What were wardens doing

On our arrival reception was closed 10.30 am waited till 12 noon to book on. Ordered a paper for next day the warden said I could do this daily or pay for my entire stay, I paid day To day. I was told that the office would be closed the next day from 9.30am till 12 noon as wardens off site so could pick up my paper before 9.30 which I did not mind. But this was not a one off several times I called to pick up my paper after 9.30 to find the office closed not getting my paper till after midday or later if we had been out. Also the top toilet block was closed for cleaning at 10 am which found to be an inconvenience as the warden were hanging around ready to start cleaning bang on time if not before. The wardens we spoke to seemed very nice & sociable.

Perfectly lovely holiday

Had a lovely 11 nights at Battle. First few days it rained but we were blessed with good weather the rest of the time there. The walking around picking your pitch is different but only by means of walking instead of driving, seeing all the different pitch locations I understand why, driving around would have been a nightmare. We had what we think was the best pitch on the site (104), which was spacious and not overlooked - loved it. Supermarket in Battle was pricey and not as well stocked but the others were not so much further. Loved that it was only a 20-25 min drive to the beach where dogs are allowed on certain parts. Check tide times, glorious when tide out. Overall brilliant - we will return.

I felt very intimidated while using the showers with my two teenage grandchildren when a MALE and female warder came in to clean the showers while we were using them. Their approach was almost threatening and the girls went very quiet. I had just finishing drying my hair and was putting my things away when the warder started filling a bucket with hot water right next to me which was splashing on my legs. Seeing the girls reaction I chose not to make a scene but I am very unhappy with the whole situation. I understand that the shower and toilet blocks need cleaning, however I do think 10am is rather early. People are on holiday afterall and I would have thought 11am would be more appropriate. After this incident I made sure the girls were up and off to the showers by 9am. I had expected a more courteous approach from Caravan Club staff. We will try not to let this spoil any future visits to this site.

Quirky Layout but one of the best

We have just returned from a long weekend at Normanhurst Court and must say it is one of the best CC sites we have been on. The layout is not the normal line of caravans but little cul-de-sacs laid out so you seem like you are on a little CL rather than a big site. We were in the stables area having booked on the morning we arrived so did not have a massive choice but it was flat and would suggest it more suited to a MH than caravan as it was on block weave paving and very flat. Facility blocks are excellent (seem new) and the wardens are most helpful and friendly. Lots to do in the area including the battle site, NT properties, coast etc. Great play area if you have kids including a football pitch surrounded by wire fence and good climbing apparatus etc.

A Lovely site

second time here, still as good as it was before, very freindly site, really nice pitches, good shower blocks, clean and well maintained, nice play area for the kids, well kept site in general, a credit to the staff

A very nice site

This is a lovely site in the grounds of a mansion, not there now, but the terracing and planting is. Although it rained very hard and the power went off we enjoyed our short stay. The wardens are first class and helpful. It's very clean and tidy. There is so much to do in the area. Battle town is just a few miles and the south coast is not far. Hastings, Rye, Camber Sands - just so many great resorts. You could spend a week here and not have time to see all the area has to offer. A great site!

Another Great Site

I had two very enjoyable nights recently at this site and found the staff extremely helpful and friendly. The only reason I did not give it a 100% rating was the lack of WiFi, TV points and it appeared to me that the personal cubicles and toilets in the toilet block were smaller than I had experienced at other sites.

Great Site

Recent stay for 5 nights. Excellent site no complaints at all. Good for couples and families alike. Numerous different pitch locations to suit all tastes. Very clean toilet block. Easy access to several National Trust properties.
