A Sussex Gem

One of our favourite sites, we usually come here several times a year for short breaks. Tucked in the Sussex countryside in the grounds of a long gone stately home, from the rhododendrons in bloom to the autumn leaves it's a lovely site. Battle, with Al it's history is only a few miles away by car or you can walk from the site via Catsfield. We will be back in 2020.

A Favourite

Returned to the site as it's been a favourite on ours, what's not to like. Lovely surroundings, interesting variety of trees now a multitude of autumn colours, facilities are first class and always well kept. The site has many pockets on several levels where you don't feel part of a larger site, mostly South facing, pleasant walks from site, numerous good pubs a within a short distant and plenty of places of interest within a short drive. Closes in November unfortunately, but look forward to Spring next year to returning.

Amazing site

I absolutely love this site. I have friends that live nearby and it's perfect for me to stay when visiting them. As the site is 'tiered' and in woodland it has so much character with pitches tucked away and lots of natural barriers making it feel much more private than some of the flat field type sites. Facilities spotless and staff incredibly friendly and helpful. Just wish the site and storage facilities were available all year round as I would visit at least once a month for 4 or 5 days. Most probably my favourite CAMC campsite that I have visited so far in England.

Short Autumn Break.

Only a 50 minute trip, led us to Battle Normanhurst Court. The driveway in with its mature trees and grasses areas told us we had chosen well. This is a fabulous site filled with mature trees and plenty more. Most pitches are of a standard set up, however some are almost quirky, with their own small driveways leading to secluded two and three pitch areas. Our stay was in October and all the leaves on trees were turning. With the sunshine the site looked beautiful. The staff are extremely friendly and always available to chat with and offer help and advice. The facilities are first class, very clean, tidy and warm. There are some lovely walks through the woods to Battle Town and Catsfield Village where you will find The White Hart Pub. Good beer and good food. Didn’t do everything we would have liked as we were only on a short break, so will definitely be returning.

First time but not the last!

This was my first trip in my new (to me) motorhome and my first experience of a CAMC site - both were a complete success. Just one night to celebrate my friend’s birthday and my new MH but we both really enjoyed it and plan to return for a longer stay to explore the area. The site is well laid out, the showers/toilets are excellent and the staff really helpful and friendly. We were given a little map to help us find the local pub which entailed a nice walk into the village. A really lovely site and a nice introduction to CAMC.

Great Stay & Amazing Weather

Our first visit to this peaceful & well kept site. The amenities block was spotlessly kept and wardens friendly. Close proximity to Battle. History of the site was fascinating and the steps from the original house were beautiful. Recommend a stay here, you won't be disappointed

Excellent location and site

We stayed here for 4 nights and enjoyed the quietness and it’s location. There is a nice walk from the site into the local village where a shop and pub are located. On site a dog walk where the dogs can run free. We spent days out exploring but so much to see and do in the area . Travelled to the East Kent Steam Railway lovely day out. A visit to Battle Abbey is a must and so dog friendly . Pevensey Castle was amazing again if you have a dog brilliant as can run free in the grounds. A lovely pub serving excellent meals and reasonably priced. If you visit Pevensey Castle there is a car park which has motorhome spaces which was a joy to see. A few places we could not park due to barriers on car parks such as Hastings which was a shame and being a hot day all road side parking full. Went to Bexhill-On-Sea on Sea and parked on the front no barriers. This site is a marvellous location for seeing the local area we will be visiting it again as did not do the area justice on our 2 week holiday .

Excellent, relaxing

Just got home from staying here for 7 nights, 1st time at caravan & motorhome site, We have had caravan for over ten years and can honestly say this is one of the best we have stayed at. The wardens were great welcomed us on to site and informed us of the best pitch that was available, which we had a look at and loved it so pitched up and had a fantastic stay. Everyone was so friendly and nice...Toilets were clean exactly what you would expect, think the cleaning fairies were at work as never saw anyone cleaning them... I can`t wait to come again we will definitely be back and will book next years holiday with this club. Loved it.

One of the best !!

Visited this caravan park over the August bank holiday, and must say this is one of the best. We took our young granddaughter and felt very safe there at all times, she loved looking for rabbits on site and doing the explorer letter search, for which she was given a great prize. The staff are very friendly, the park is large but felt small and cosy at times (depends where you pitch) The facilities were outstandingly clean and looked after, which is very pleasant to see. There are lots of trees and the site is well laid out, you get a great choice of pitches. The site is well located for many days out, local pubs serving value for money food. On some of the pitches it can be a bit of a slope and the entrance can be a bit dodgy when you come out onto the main road, but don't let these put you off, you will not be disappointed if you visit here, we will definitely be back !!!

Excellent, well-laid-out site.

Stayed for four nights in Agust, in our caravan. It takes a keen eye to see the site entrance, tucked away on a junction, so don't overshoot. Once located, the site is accessed by a long driveway which reveals a very spacious and well-arranged site indeed, with very spacious grass pitches in particular. On our arrival we were asked whether we preferred grass or hardstanding, and two decades of tenting previous to our 'van made the choice grass. The choice of pitches was very good, with far more than the regulation 6 metres of space, and the design compartmentalises the site with copses of trees and bushes so that the site seems smaller than it actually is. On our preferred pitch the grass had suffered badly through a non-breathable groundsheet laid down for an extended time, so with permission and careful measuring, we were able to pitch to let the grass recover. The site is everything one comes to expect in terms of smooth-running and cleanliness. We appreciated the dog-walk which directly accessed the footpath network and allowed a walk to Battle, and Hastings and the coast is a short drive. Signs at the dog walk simultaneously told to keep our mutts on leashes but also not to forget the dogs' balls. I interpreted this as meaning to put the dog on a leash once on the footpath since the landowners were insistent, but to keep it under close control while ball-chasing within the dog-walk. No-one told me off. Road noise has been mentioned in reviews, but we found it very quiet during our stay. Similarly, children seemed quite happy with their play facilities (climbing apparatus and a fenced ball area). On leaving, again at the main road, we needed to move off smartish due to traffic, but this did not dent our view that this is a great site.
