Rude and abrupt

Came here as every1 says how fab it is, us, well we don't know why.. we turned up 20 mins early, to be greeted with your early you can't book in yet. Never ever has this happened to us, we looked around at what pitch we wod like to bide the time. Bang on 12 the 2 men opened the office,, we were asked oh you have looked about what pitch do you want, so we said an they went oh u can't av that it's for an awning so we then chose 1 against the wall/fence of the boating place next door.. bad move.. after setting van up we were given the key to open the gates, to be rudly told oh u av been here b4 you know what to do.. which we hadn't been b4. Then was told what we needed, we then went for a walk along the water into the town and had a nose then came back on the water taxi, to the cottage pub.. which we did have a pint and glass if wine, what a lovely place, the food looked amazing. We then went back to the caravan settled in for the night.. well if you like a lay on, no way 930 the noise from the boating place was horrendous.. so thoughts about goin here again well for the wharf itself yes but the site I'm not to sure... brecon knocks spots off this site,, sorry just felt the wardens couldn't be bothered, it's not like the site is huge and needed lots of looking after,, look after the guests more they should.. people find it hard to book this site or book so far in advance, I don't get it.. and we have been to a few sites now

You arrived early yet expected to be allowed to book in!  You also knew what sort of pitch you’d booked yet selected a different type. Somehow all that became the wardens’ fault rather than your responsibility.

You’ll get there and you’ll know what to expect at the next club site you visit.

we have been to a few sites now.

If you have never been told 'too early' before and have been to only a few sites how many have you arrived at early? If you had been admitted 20 minutes early what would the next CC visit be? Would it be 30 mins early?

If you had booked a non awning pitch then of course you cannot take an awning pitch as it is probably already booked on this site

OK, the guys run a tight ship but any booking clearly states not to arrive before 12, its a small site with nowhere for early arrived to wait other then over the motorhome service point - so - its plain inconvenient.  Acknowledge that can be difficult to judge arrival time when you are travelling but generally if you are 5-10 minutes early, you may get a wagged finger but that is all.

Choosing your pitch is up to you.  The site is urban so don't expect rural tranquillity!

If you don't want to visit again, fine, gives me a better chance of getting booked in!!

We have been visiting this site for many years, it is a city site so do not expect the peace and tranquillity of a country site. Turning up early is always a risk, and particularly on busy sites, Baltic Wharf is mostly booked to capacity in my experience. The wardens have always been friendly, helpful and considerate people in our dealings with them. I have never observed them to be rude, however they do enforce the rules of the site, which is obviously a problem for these members.

I'm going in the morning with caravan (Monday 8th Oct) to this site. Never been before. My neighbour says its his favourite site.

I will post a review on my return in 10 days and let you know my thoughts.
