Baltic Wharf has long been our favourite site and one that we've been visiting for 20+ years.
We visit nearly every month to meet up with family, go to a show, choir concert or compete in the Bristol 10K.
Over the years we've met lots of great wardens here, but Lindsay and Michelle have gone one step further always happy to chat and love their quirky notes everywhere. They thoroughly deserve their award for singles/couples which has pride of place in the office.
Bristol has so much to offer for the visitor with this site in the perfect location to explore
Sad that after the last nine years trying to get planning permission, the site is now closing in February.......
Caravan and Motorhome Club hopefully the alternative site can get planning permission and we can all still enjoy visiting Bristol
Our Favourite Site
This is without doubt our favourite site in the network and the only one we have returned to time and time again.
As its not local to us and the 8pm check in means its a afternoons holiday from work to do a weekend here. This visit was to celebrate our 28th Wedding Anniversary and we had been looking forward to it for weeks.
Its true the site and the facilities are a little tired and dated but the work and effort the site Managers put into maintaining means you hardly notice this. We're so glad they have received the recognition they deserve and the photo of the managers receiving their award from the Club Chairman David Turner is proudly displayed in the reception.
Make sure you check out the three pubs close to site, they are that close you can see them all from site. They all have their own charm.
Before you pack up and leave visit Underfall Yard's Cafe for a great breakfast with the profits going to help rebuild following a fire last year.
Shame to lose this great site
We have visited Baltic Wharf for many years. Though not too far from our rural home, we enjoy the easy access to city life the site offers. A ferry stop outside the gate, easy level walks to MShed, to our favourite Left Handed Giant Brewpub (amongst others), to restaurants, theatres, shopping and, a bit more of an uphill challenge, to Clifton, its famous bridge, observatory and village. On the way down, take in the museum and cathedral. Without Baltic Wharf campsite we wouldnt have explored nearly so much. We will be very sad and sorry the day it closes. Bristol will be the poorer for its demise. A short sighted decision to sell the land and forego the tourist dollar from maybe 100 visitors a night, year-round, spending in pubs, restaurants, shops, theatres etc.
One of our favorite sites
This has been our go to site since 1994, there is so much to do in and around Bristol, it is a lively city, don't expect tranquility, it is the location that is special, every time you open the back gate onto the wharf there is a sense of delight and stress release, after our 55th visit we feel like locals. Sadly the site will close this year but the site managers keep it spotless, they are very friendly and are quick to sort any possible issues. If you like cider then would highly recommend The Orchard, they have an amazing list of local cider and also some cask ales, they have music jam sessions some evenings too, it is a short walk tucked behind the marina before reaching HMS GB which is another great place to visit. There is easy access to the city on foot or by water ferry. We would offer this advice, it is not always easy to judge timings but do not arrive before 1.00 pm, the site entrance is not big and vehicles can end up queuing out onto the road outside which is not ideal. Looking forward to visiting again soon.

A good site turned Great due to Lindsey and Michelle
Bristol has become our favourite site, the location of the site is so so convenient, its a short walk to a hive of activity and a mega amount of eating and drinking establishments, the river is literally on the door step. The site managers are the star of this location, Lindsey (hope i have spelt your name right) and Michelle have done so much to make visitors stays a memorable one, the site is spotless, the kind and welcoming manor of the managers is fantastic, they can't do enough to help. They have even put together a map of their favourite places to visit, ok this might be influenced by stout, porter, IPA sours but all the same, its a wonderful map and i would recommend you give it a whirl where you will get to sample some of Bristols finest brews. We always spend ages chatting with Lindsey and Michelle and end up getting some new insight in to where to eat etc, they are a shining example of site Managers and credit to the C&M club. Sadly the site is due to close at the end of 2024 and this is devastating news, one can only hope that the club are able to locate another premises in the City and let Lindsey and Michelle do their thing to keep us all visiting Bristol. If you haven't visited yet, i highly recommend you do.
Brilliant site
Stayed for 4 nights. Perfect location, with everything just through the gate. The Harbourfest was on when we arrived, so loads to see. The ferry service is excellent to get to the city centre etc, and only a short walk to SS Great Britain. The site is clean and relatively quiet with a bit of road noise. The Bristol emergency services seem to love a siren! The wardens are lovely too and keep the site clean and tidy. Such a shame this site is closing as perfect location.
Absolutely love this place
Visited Baltic Wharf site for the second time last week. It's in such a perfect position right on the harbourside at Bristol, ideally placed for walking around the harbour area or up to Clifton, there's great shops, bars & restaurants nearby or just sit on a bench and watch the world go by. Sadly they are due to close in December so that more flats can be built, this is an absolute travesty as it's the perfect spot for motorhomer or caravaners who want to be in a beautiful spot but close to the City. Some of the facilities are dated (hence only 4 *) but the threat of closure has been hanging over this site for a while so that's clearly why it's not been worth investing in updating. Have booked for one last visit later in the year - will be very sad to see this little oasis the middle of Bristol disappear forever :-(.
Excellent
This was our second visit to Baltic Wharf and was just as enjoyable this time. The site is clean, well maintained, quiet and an amazing location. We do hope that Chelle and Lindsay will be in charge at the new site as they are perfect hosts.
Vlakbij de camping The Cottage Inn, kleine gezellige pub.
Baltic Wharf Club Campsite Bristol
June Stay: Perfect location to walk into heart Bristol or catch one of the ferry boats.
The facilities are as good and as clean as you would expect, nice hot water in showers, which you can regulate to your preference.
However it's the location that's the star of the show really, Perfect location to walk into heart Bristol or catch one of the ferry boats, just along the waterfront from the SS Great Britain, an easy walk into the heart of Bristol.
So once you have set up, time to relax with no hassle of driving anywhere until your time to leave.
We were so disappointed, to hear on our arrival, that the site will cease to exist as of December this year. What a dreadful shame.
