Fantastic location!

This is a site in a fantastic location on the floating harbour. The special thing about the site is that there is a little gate leading directly on to the harbour. At the moment however the lock on this gate is broken. Please Baltic Wharf - get the lock mended ASAP - it really will not cost much! A whip round on the site would probably raise enough! We will really miss this site when it goes as there is no where else within walking distance of the centre if Bristol. I hope the club will be able to find another site nearby. Thanks Baltic Wharf for another great stay, we will be back very soon!

Here again.

Take advantage of extensions while you can.Noticed in good time to get 4 suitable nights while weather OK. Good choice of pitch which makes a change. Never seen so many outfits not pitched to pegs.space is tight here and correct pitching makes a lot of difference. Still no shower curtains so floors very wet. Work on road outside wasnt as bad as we expected. Handy buses from by the shop.nice drivers. Good to sit by great britain and watch the world go by with good tea and cake. Already rebooked for March just need July now !! (Heres hoping ).

Gem of a site right in Bristol

Just had our first visit to this brilliant little site. Other reviews say it all . Will be a sorry loss when Bristol City Council end the lease so they can build on it. Only marked it down on peace and quiet because of the noisy roadworks currently going on.

A favourite location

We really like this site because of its easy access to the wharf and to all the amenities to and in Bristol and have stayed here several times. It is particularly convenient for us as my husband is an amputee so being able to walk straight out onto the wharf is fantastic. However, we know that the sites days are numbered given it's owned by Bristol Council and is to be built on. We thought our stay this September would be our last - but as its been given yet another reprieve (Hallelujah) we were thrilled to be able to book for New Year again, as are our friends that also love this site. Of course what we all want is for a permanent reprieve (I know, in my dreams) The disabled facility was unavailable during our latest stay and are hoping if will be available for New Year.

GREAT LOCATION

WHAT A WONDERFUL LOCATION WITH LOVELY VIEWS OF THE COLOURED HOUSES OPPOSITE THE SITE ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE WATER, WALKS AROUND THE WATERSIDE, BARS, RESTAURANTS AND A SHORT WALK TO THE SHOPPING CENTRE AND ALL THE CITY CENTRE SIGHTS. WE WILL MISS THE WATERSIDE LOCATION. AS FOR THE SITE ITSELF, IT IS VERY WELL RUN THANKS TO THE WARDENS, KAREN AND NICK WHO ARE SO FRIENDLY AND ALWAYS ON HAND TO HELP IN ANY WAY NEEDED. THIS SITE WILL BE A GREAT LOSS TO MANY PEOPLE.

Great location!

Thrilled to be able to visit here as it’s been on our list of places for some time, managed to book two nights at very short notice (night before!) by using the web chat! Arrived at lunchtime and had plenty of choice of where to pitch up. A gateway at the back of the site leads directly onto the wharf side which is just a lovely place to sit and watch the world go by! Absolutely brilliant location for visiting SS Great Britain which is only 5 minutes walk away. Plenty of pubs and places to eat and drink and of course shop, it that’s your thing! Roadworks are very noisy but were well aware of this before our visit and had no direct impact on our stay. So sad that this site is constantly under threat of closure as it really is a little gem and in a prime location. We need more club sites like this!

Location, Location, Location

What a location, right next to the river and a pub. Walks in all directions and Bristol is fabulous (the decent weather helped). The site is a little tired, which is understandable considering its situation, but is was clean , tidy and welcoming, the staff were very friendly. The announcement that there was a 3 month extension on the lease, we booked straight away and didn't regret it. We may even go again. The roadworks outside the site are noisy at times, but not intrusive. Site can only be approached from one direction, so don't make a wrong turn, otherwise you'll see a lot more of Bristols road system than necessary.

First and probably last time, pity .....

Having been born and still having family in Bristol, have tried several times to get a booking at this site. Managed it for last November only to be thwarted due to lockdowns. So was really looking forward to this visit. Im not sure I can add much to the reviews of this site, safe to say the location is brilliant. Being next to the floating harbour for walks, within walking distance of countless pubs and restaurants, so many sights to see and the MH does not have to move. I doubt I will be able to get another booking here due to other commitments, just so glad I finally made it, well worth it!

Last stay?....perhaps not!

We were delighted to arrange a last minute two night stop at Baltic Wharf as we made our way North from our recent visit to Cornwall, particularly as we thought it would be our last stay at one of our favourite sites. On our last day we were told by one of the Wardens that they have received news of another extension, which I believe takes it up to 03 Jan 22. We did all the things we enjoy when visiting this site, a walk into the city centre via M Shed, The Cottage Inn, Avon Packet and Coronation Curry. But this time we also took some basic tackle and had two very successful sessions fishing in the floating harbour, sitting just through the rear gate. I would recommend that any anglers reading this review should have a try, we caught countless fish including decent sized Perch, Roach and Chub. It is free to fish, just need your license. The Wardens were very helpful and friendly, the facilities were fine considering the circumstances, and I have even got used to the approach now needed due to the road works. We hope to return!

A magical unique site in the heart of an historic and vibrant metropolitan city on a par with anywhere in the world

We thought our three nights at Baltic Wharf last week would be the last ever, but on the very morning of our leaving we got the great news that the lease had been extended for a further three months. So we have booked further stays in October! Stepping or cycling out of the back gate onto the harbourside is quite magical and compares very well with the likes of Barcelona or Lisbon. The site is compact and pitches are limited but I disagree with any comments that upkeep has been neglected! The wardens have done a fantastic job in maintaining the toilet/shower/facilities block and the number of cubicles/showers etc out of action is less than has been the case during lockdown in general. The CAMC and the onsite wardens are to be commended on their efforts. The harbourside is home to SS great Britain and the M shed and numerous pubs and restaurants, and Bristol is a fine historic city. Unfortunately my wife came off her bike on the harbourside and was immediately tended to by at least two off duty nurses and an A & E doctor - it was like being on the set of Casualty. I doubt that we would have received such ready assistance in many other large cities. If you have not been there, then go now while you can and support the CAMC and the wardens- they deserve it.
