This site has been under threat of closure for some time and but has had a number of extensions to the closure date. Unfortunately the CAMC have clearly taken thd decision very early on in that Otto do no maintenance whatsoever. Given that we paid full price for this rundown and even dangerous site is a very poor reflection on the CAMC, who should be ashamed of themselves for taking of members. The facilities were dirty, outdated, leaking, smelly and for the most part out of commission for the duration of our stay. The electric post on our pitch was so insecure you had to hold the post up to plug in, at first if fell over and exposed the cables where they entered the post. Typical throughout our stay the wardens office was closed and no wardens were walking around the site.
Sad decline.
After 25+ years here I expect this was our last visit. What a decline we saw, disabled toilet and shower out of order.shower and some toilets in gents not working.no info room.no hairdryers no curtains to wash basins.
Its all about location.good to watch the world go by on waterside.very good meals ay Nova Scotia.handy buses with nice drivers.watershed area good to people watch.
I hope we find suitable replacement.possible club site might be too far out to get into city quickly.
Thrilled with the location
We too duplicate comments made previously on the location of this site. We found the site accidentally, and were thrilled to get a cancellation, as the site is constantly fully booked. We were not disappointed, and the visit exceeded expectations. We would certainly have visited many times more, had it not that the site be redeveloped. So pleased that we have had the opportunity to stay at this amazing location.
Delighted to get here at last
We had a booking here for May 2020 which obviously didn’t happen so we were delighted to piece together a 4 night stay last week. The location is absolutely brilliant, a short walk to Wapping Wharf with its bars and restaurants, and the SS Great Britain which is a really good day out. Along with Rowntree Park in York, this is one of the best sites in terms of location we have stayed at and and it will be a big loss to the club. The managing couple were, as always, brilliant, from helping us get our twin axle van onto site through the adjacent roadworks, to advising on local walks and facilities ( and sorting our various bookings to be able to allocate us one pitch where we stayed for all 4 nights ) . Let’s hope the replacement site isn’t too far away ( and isn’t up that steep winding road which will really limit access!)

So sad to see it close
Like all the other comments we will miss this site terribly, fantastic location, great wardens etc etc Our hope is that the Club secures a new site within easy walking distance of the city centre. A site with more pitches because this site is always so hard to get booked into, a site perhaps near a park and ride or cycleways in, a site definately with more toilets blocks. Our hope also is that the new site is open soon so we can get back to Bristol. Redevelopment has clearly been on the cards for several years and it is disappointing that alternative site has not been signed off before this one closes. Hopefully the Club and the Council will resolve remaining planning issues quickly so that members can return to Bristol in 2022.
Great location..sad its going to close
stayed for 3 nights recently. small site but right in the middle of Bristol's wharf area. Great bars and restaurants near by - Chef's table, Broken Dock, Box E, Adelina yard. Hope the new place has more than one toilet block. The wardens are very helpful.

What a HUGE LOSS to C&MHC and its members
So sad this site is closing to make way for a housing estate. Is it worth doing a review with only a few weeks left? Merely doing the review to thank the wardens for a great well-kept, well-run, clean site, and to thank the club for keeping it open up until the end. I cannot imagine a better placed site to explore such a vibrant and diverse city. It will be very missed by those who were fortunate enough to get a booking, and who found out just how much the location had to offer.

Great location, lovely people, great facilities
We stayed here for a couple of nights in the late July heatwave. It’s surprisingly shaded for a mainly gravel and concrete site, and in the evenings there was a slight breeze off the docks. It’s a GREAT spot to explore Bristol from. Very lively outside, but quiet and secluded inside. Great facilities and despite the site being pretty full it never felt crowded. Pubs just on your doorstep. Bike trails. Pizza delivery from Uber. We had a great time, and IF IT STAYS OPEN (cone on Bristol Council!!!) then we’ll definitely be back.
Sadly Goodbye
We have stayed at Baltic Wharf many times over the years and it has always been a firm favourite. Our final trip was in very hot weather but we took our chairs out the back gate on to the wharf and watched all the comings and going’s in the harbour. We had a wonderful three days, happy memories but sad to say goodbye.
What a gem, glad we caught it before it closes ...
We spent a great night at Baltic Wharf without meaning to! We'd booked a night at the Burnham on Sea site to break our journey from Cornwall to Sheffield only to have our booking cancelled due to the site being waterlogged. Not a problem, Baltic Wharf had space and we had a lovely evening wandering the harbourside walk and eating at the Cottage Inn, and a morning stroll to the very interesting Underfall Yard in the other direction before heading off home. What a shame the site only has a few more weeks open - I can quite see why there are so many heartbroken reviewers sad to see it go, and only wish we'd had an opportunity to tick off some of the other city attractions Bristol has to offer.
