TRICKY TO REVIEW

This site is very difficult to rate as the site itself is very clean, and is situated on the wharf - we really enjoyed getting on a 'ferry boat' and going into the centre of Bristol. However, it is the least family friendly site we have ever been to! If people do not want families to visit I completely understand that, but they should make themselves an Adults Only site. There are 'DO NOT....' signs absolutely everywhere 'don't do this, don't do that'!! Also, we arrived 30mins early for booking in - having travelled for hours with two children in the car, and the welcome we received you'd have thought we were a week early. We were made to feel SO unwelcome that we pitched up, went out in to Bristol for the afternoon/evening, went to bed and then left first thing in the morning so that we didn't have to have any further dealings with the wardens. So, all in all in depends what you want from a site! - if you want easy access in to the city centre, with clean facilities then this is your site (just don't arrive early!!!!!), IF however you want friendly then steer well clear. It is also worth noting that to get to the site you have to drive through the centre of a town which is NOT fun when towing!

Baltic Wharf. 26/10/2015

Easy to find, central to lots of activity and shopping. Handy for visiting local relatives. Seek to visit every year but difficult to book. TV reception could be improved. Fear of stopping non parking area, instead had to stop in centre of road until access clear. lots of horn honking. Ex H/S Inspector recommend council review assessment for school adjacent deep water. A jewel of the site network

This sites only downfall is its popularity! Ideally placed for walking into Bristol and around the locality. It is such a shame that the council want to close it in order to build a school. Let's hope the club can persuade the council to build on another site and allow this jewel to remain part of the network.

Always Excellent

What can I say that is different this time. The site never ceases to amaze. The staff are friendly, helpful and approachable. Access to the city is brilliant. Long may it remain a club site and not become a school!!! If you haven't been there go its a gem. John Eadington

Jewel in the Crown

So good that it's lease has been extended, the shortcut through the rear gate onto the riverside wharf was great for walking into the centre, and for those not into walking the ferry stopped just outside at very reasonable prices. Very clean site and friendly wardens helped make the stay top notch, for those pitching near Cumberland road the early morning traffic was noticeable at 0700 but not too intrusive. All in all an excellent site to visit the goings on in the city.

Wow!

Having tried, for several years, to coincide a visit to Baltic Wharf with holiday time, we made it at last! This is a small city site, full for much of the year. But the wait was worth it. Walk through the gate to the harbour and the view across the water is breath taking. Houses are terraced and painted in different colours, more like Spain than England. The city centre is a good walk away, or a pleasant (and cheap) ferry ride. This was our first visit to Bristol, and will not be our last during the remaining 3 years of CC tenancy. It will be a sad day if/when it closes to make way for a school. A loss to CC members and also to Bristol's coffers! The city is vibrant with students bustling between lecture buildings and has lots to see and explore. Measuring it alongside others we have visited, by the number of photographs taken, Bristol beats Barcelona hands down! Utterly perfect,

Perfect Location

We stayed here for three nights and did lots of things. Through the gate and you are on the wharf, turn to your right and it is an interesting walk into Bristol, you pass the M Shed museum and the SS Great Britain before getting to Bristol it's self. Turn to your left and you can pick up the river ferry or carry on and if fit walk up to the Clifton Suspension Bridge, a great view from there. The site is unique and so glad it has got a three year extension, we will return.

Probably the best city site.

Perfect is not a word to use lightly, but here it is. This is easy to get to, close to everything and always well presented. Staff are welcoming and helpful. What more can you say. Thank goodness we have it for another three years. We are looking forward to mas at Baltic Wharf.

very surprised

We were very surprised at the location. Right on the harbour path. Perfect for all the local attractions. The site is really just somewhere to sleep although the standards are very high as with all CC sites. A little bit noisy but only to be expected in a popular area. There is so much to do there. We cant wait until the re visit next February. I highly recommend this site for an active stay
