We were looking forward to our stay here and weren't disappointed, it was amazing. Yes, the facilities are getting a little tired and need some TLC and there isn't much grass around, but this was more than made up for by the location. A spotless site, with facilities to match and helpful friendly wardens who really knew their patch. Leaving via the city centre to head East was a bit hairy with the road works but it's amazing how people soon move over with a big caravan coming through.
A great pub rounf the corner with lovely food and a cracking pint, two minutes off the quayside with so much happening there was also a big plus - to look out of your window and see the masts of the "Matthew 2" passing - awesome.
If the council do take this it will be a great loss all round so enjoy whilst you can - we did
Great location for visiting the City and site seeing
Just returned from Baltic Wharf after another excellent two week stay. Our second this year and one more to come in September. As always the friendly and helpful site wardens keep this site in spotless condition. We will be very sorry when the site closes. Lets hope the Club has a new site in the pipe line.
Lovely Site
We have always loved our stays on this site and really hope that the Council don't close it down, love the easy access to the floating harbour and its even better for us now that The Cottage Pub next door is dog friendly was lovely to be able to get a meal when we arrived late. There's so much to do in Bristol and the surrounding area. My only complaints are why both sets of toilets have to be closed from 10.30 - 12.00 seems such along time for cleaning especially as the warden firstly cleaned the gents from 10.30 - 11.00 and didn't even go in the ladies until 11.00am, surely a staggered clean would be better like it used to be as there was quite a queue for the one service loo. Whilst the lady warden cleaned the man just walked around the site with a leaf blower blowing all the gravel from the roads back on to the pitches but all this did was create a huge cloud of dust - not good when you are trying to sit outside and enjoy breakfast but also very dangerous with loose pebbles flying around peoples cars, caravans & motorhomes surely an old fashioned brush would have done the job so much better we were surprised there was no damage done thankfully we have never experienced this on any other site and hope we never do again.
Another Great Stay.
Really sorry to see someone measuring site walls etc.Surely if council own the site they should know how big it is ???? Perhaps they will realise its too small .
Yes its looking a bit tired and pitches are small and not much grass, but its all about location .
Over the 20 or so years we have been coming along with many other people we have spent more money than I care to think about in the city and will continue to do so if the site is still here. The council don.t or won.t consider the impact closing this site will have on local pubs shops and tourist attractions.
The previous wardens were around more than current ones and there were more flowers etc but toilets , clean and water hot. Although hour and half seems excessive.
Really hope to visit again and again,Hope the Council take another 4 year to differ about closing the site.
Nice site with lots to do
Used as a stopover on way back from Cornwall.
Really friendly welcome. Great location for access to harbour and plenty of bars/restaurants.
Only stayed one night but it was a Friday and the harbour was buzzing with street food, bars, music had a great evening.
Toilets/showers a bit dated but keep really clean.
Would love to return
Good location for central Bristol.
Excellent location for central Bristol, lots to do. Showers and toilets very clean although dated. Motorhome service point drains need repair and re-locating. Main negative is the pigeons poo over everything. Had to clean MH roof, outside chairs, table etc. Otherwise a good site.

Gem of a Site
We stayed for 3 nights in May. The site is small but not cramped. The site is in an excellent location for the city. The lockable back gate takes you straight out onto the river. There is a pub next door - the Cottage Inn - which does nice food. There are a couple of pubs if you walk around the floating harbour to the other side of the river. It's a nice walk or cycle into town or you can get a water taxi from the pub - discounted tickets if you show your membership card or key fob.
There are bus stops very close to the site entrance. The facilities are dated but clean & functional.
We were lucky to get a pitch close to the river so the road noise did not bother us. The gates on the main road close at 8pm and there is no barrier so it is common sense to lock up/secure bikes, chairs, tables etc...
We found a cycle route under the suspension bridge that skirted a railway line & country park. On the other side of the river, there is also a safe, but noisy, cycle route along the A4 towards the M5.
We loved the site so much that we immediately booked to return the same time next year. It is such a shame that the Council wants to build houses on the land. I hope they change their minds because this site is open all year & brings a lot of tourism to the area.
3 Night Break
This was our first time at this site, from the moment we arrived we were made to feel most welcome. The current wardens haven't been there long and it is evident they are working hard to get the site looking good, we found them to be most helpful and friendly throughout our stay. The rear gate issues mentioned by a previous reviewer is now fixed and provides good access to the waterfront. Being able to walk from site to pubs, restaurants and theatres was great the historical attractions of the area are also a real bonus. Buses run from close to the site entrance if you don't wish to walk. We didn't encounter any undue noise from the surrounding area which was surprising given it's near city location. This is a smallish size site meaning pitches are a little more cramped than you would find at larger sites. However, we had no problems setting up and leaving our pitch and the excellent location makes up for a slightly smaller pitch. We would have no hesitation in returning in the future.

one of the clubs best sites
Ok,it needs some tlc and has road noise, but when you walk out of the private gate all that is forgotten.
Everything is in walking distance, museums, restaurants, ferry trips, boat trips and the best dockside walk.if you have not been to this site yet, please hurry before developers get there hands on it and built expensive apartments.

Not a 5 star site
We were on this site in February 2019, during the exceptional period of warm weather. We had followed the reviews that said how good the site is, and go now before it closes etc. But sorry fellow members, you need to remove your rose tinted spectacles.
Yes the location by the historic wharf is excellent but that's the only thing this site has going for it.
The facilities are just about 3 star, there are only 6 shower units, 3 for each sex, for a 60 pitch site. The motor home service point is in a ridiculous position, to empty tanks at the end of your stay you need to rejoin the one way system and hope there's nobody on the point in front of you. You then have to scrabble under your vehicle to put the waste line into the only drain. We were told off by a warden as some of our water overflowed, my remarks about improving it were met with a shrug. The chemical emptying point is in the open, good luck to anyone pitched close by.
The pitches are small and if you are on the road side of the site, the noise is like camping in the central reservation of the M6.
There was a family in a caravan close to us and their children were playing in the gravel as there are no facilities for children.
I understand that nothing is being spent to improve this site because of it's likely closure but unfortunately in real terms, that's what it needs in order for it to remain anywhere near to the standard we expect of the club sites.
