The site is ideal for touring Fife and beyond. Spotless facilities and helpful staff. Lots of dog lovers here. Many pitches are in the shade of trees but midges weren't too bad. A little traffic noise but nothing too loud. Good walk round the estate, particularly if you have dogs-lots of grass for throwing a ball or chasing rabbits!
Great for first timers
Had a lovely 10 day break at Balbirnie. The facilities were spotless, the site immaculately maintained and a great deal of time and effort had been put into the landscaping. The wardens were very friendly and welcoming and as this was our first trip in a caravan, helped us with getting set up and providing advice, guidance and tips.
We hope to enjoy more caravan club sites if this is the standard to expect and will certainly stay here again when we are in the area. Great walking and cycling in the parkland and locally and Falkland Palace, Kellie Castle and St Andrews are a must.
Sunny Scotland
Welcoming Wardens, lovely clean facilities, spotless toilets, beautiful garden arrangements... we had fantastic weather with the park over the way and the childrens park over the road, who could ask for more. Thank you Balbirnie.
Great site
Lovely, friendly welcome. Balbirnie Park is adjacent and is great for walking your dogs. Clean, easily accessible toilet and shower block, Easy access to many interesting places in Fife.
Spoiled rotten
Long story short - ended up here two weekends back to back and its like coming home - great location for visiting Fife - Falkland Freuchie and Cupar not to mention St Andrews - worth of checking out the well signposted Scotlands Secret bunker and if you can find it the Pillars Of Hercules (theres a challenge for you) well worth the visit! Alex and Sam run the site like it was their home and we are valued guests - will be back soon
Lovely Clean and Peaceful Site
Nice location. Quiet peaceful and well kept. Nice very clean facilities. Shops and great pub with fantastic food nearby. Visited here twice. A+,,,,,,, Site managers are very nice and very helpful.
Well worth another visit
This is a gem of a site tucked into the side of the lovely Balbirnie Park. Some of the pitches look on to the local houses which is not the best of views and some pitches are darkly shaded. That said it was a nice evening stroll around the site and the park provides superb easy walking. The facilities were excellent and spotlessly clean. We had a lovely relaxing weekend after a very stressful week
Kids before dogs.
Been to this site on a number of occasions due to its proximity to places of interest. As per very clean and tidy if there were too many dogs! It's a pity the children, who are future of caravans get, don't get the priority that dogs are afforded.
The wardens are keen so beware how you pitch, in a caravan at least.
One final thought would be to reduce the number of trees giving more then enough shade. Otherwise the site is overall fine.
Just gets better every visit
This was our 3rd visit there and first this year. Great to be welcomed by the same friendly and helpful wardens who create a great atmosphere around the site, even introducing kids to each other - freshly planted wild plants, hanging baskets and glorious old trees all contained in this immaculate site - facilities and grounds. Short walk to the village with usual shops and a well stocked Coop. Drummonds Steak House is a 10 min walk with good food and reasonable prices. A real find was the Beijing Banquet which was only 3-4 miles away - excellent food for £13 a head.
Then there's Balbirnie Park itself 400 acres of old parkland just waiting to be explored. If its peace and quiet you are after go no further.
