Well worth a visit

Our first time here and stayed for 6 Days. We only noticed the turning at the last second and had to reverse up the road with caravan which was good practice but the site could be better signposted?  A nice tidy and pleasant quiet site with a long walk just at the top of the drive so great if you have a dog. Lots of birds singing with lots of activity round the bird table. We decided to go to the Stotfold Water Mill to buy some flour but on arrival found it only is open 2 days a month! Have to say not as impressed with Ashwell as I thought as not much to look at although watching cricket on the green was very pleasant and an impressive church. As others have said this is a good base and some were using the site as a base to work in London.

Excellent site, well worth a visit

This is a small site and is well located for Cambridge and the Letchworth areas. The facilities are of the usual club standard and the wardens are very friendly and helpful.

Nice little site in an interesting area

Visited this site second week of the Easter holidays and will return. Ashwell is a pretty village with three dog friendly pubs .Days out to Duxford and the Shuttleworth collection within 15 miles for the aviation buffs and of course Cambridge or Saffron Waldon for a general day out. The only reason I have reduced the rating for the site is the gents toilet was without any means for drying your hands the dryer out of action most of the week and no substitute paper towels - not to club standard.

Well worth a visit

We've stayed on this site in 2015 & returned this year as it's a very comfortable and peaceful place to stay.  The toilet and shower block are spotless and heated and the grounds are beautifully kept.  The Managers gave us a warm welcome (noticeably different to our first visit so perhaps we caught them on a bad day on that occasion). Ashwell is a delightful village with several good pubs within a 10 to 15 minute walk. We ate at the Rose & Crown and the Bushel & Strike & would recommend both.  The latter has a more sophisticated menu but the food on both is a good standard.  We'll be back!

A little Gem of a site

Great little site. Wardens are excellent.  Site is looked after 100%..Must.mention The Rose and Crown in the village. Dog friendly and great traditional food. Booking a table.if.you have a dog is advisable.  As it does get busy in the bar area at night. Pop in and say hi to Phil and Helen

Happy

Last weekend was my second stay at Ashridge Farm, so that is a recommendation in itself! The village is really lovely and there are lots of footpaths for explorers.  We discovered the village museum which was full of interesting local history.  The campsite is clean and tidy with everything you could need.  I must give my special thanks to Graham who helped me to reverse on to my pitch (I'm new to caravanning) - Graham you are excellent! Following my second 'lesson' I had no trouble reversing into my tiny space in the storage yard!! This was especially good since several people were watching... phew.. my face is saved.. We will be back :-)

Three day caravanning

The wardens were excellent. Toilet/shower block is fantastic.  We had hot showers and the partition from the shower area to leaving your belongings is great.I rate it 100 per cent/AAA.  I will recommend this site to anyone.

Well kept and very tidy

We stayed here for 4 nights from 6th Feb (Sat) with friends in two motor-homes.Very friendly welcome from wardens and we got the last two pitches next to each other 30 and 31. Papers can be ordered for delivery to the site on a daily basis.  The facilities were very clean and cleaning times suited us fine. Our pitch 31 is very close to the storage compound entry which was very busy over the time we stayed and became a tad annoying (its probably the only pitch that would even be aware of the comings and goings)  A short walk gets you into Ashwell which is pretty and has village shops but no large store/supermarket. The Rose and Crown is dog friendly and does good meals we had dinner there but they also do lunches.  Good walks from the site which made our first trip away with our new Border Collie pup much easier to handle as she became acquainted with MH life.  A lovely small site and would recommend....just avoid pitch 31 if coming and goings get on your nerves.

quiet site

Our second visit to this great little quiet site. As we have family in the area it's great to combine a break away with family visit. Staff are friendly and polite. Will be using again for certain.

A change from Cherry Hinton!

Having visited CH several times we thought we would try Ashridge although it is further away from Cambridge. Trumpington motorhome friendly Park and Ride is conveniently on the way! Excellent site with a lovely village within walking distance. Three pubs all very different, try them all and visit your favourite again! The Three Tuns won hands down foodwise but was a tad expensive.
