Constant aircraft noise

This is a lovely site in a good situation and is beautifully kept. Unfortunately, none of the reviews mentioned that it is on the flight path to Luton airport, with planes coming over every minute at times from 6.00 A.M. until past 11.00 P.M. and even a few in the middle of the night. We will not be returning.

fantastic site

I recently joined the caravan club and my first visit to a club site was Ashridge Farm, I must say it was fantastic !! very easy to access from the A1 /A505 spotlessly clean site an so peaceful. I was that impressed I wanted to book the following weekend but unfortunately they were fully booked . I have been looking for a fairly close to home site just for a quick break for Friday and Saturday nights and have found the ideal site .. I will be returning on a regular basis .. absolutely loved it ... highly recommended

Stopover on way from France

Only had one night at this compact site but it might not be our last. Worked out well for us on our way home from a longish trip to France via Calais and Dover as its about half way so breaks the journey well. Had some nice fresh eggs from a house on the lane to the site. Great hot shower in the very clean toilet block so many thanks to the hard working wardens.

Lovely site

We have just returned from a week's break at Ashridge , have no positives to add to previous reviews .My only gripe is regarding the sign posting ,you cannot see the club sign until you are right on top of it . So proceed with caution or you may well find yourself reversing back up a main road .

Enjoyable weekend

A small, well kept site.Wardens very pleasant. Lovely village with convenience store, bakery and butchers. Good walks from site. Half an hour to Park and Ride into Cambridge. Only downside is small toilet block (two showers, three privacy cubicles and three loos) which meant some queuing at times.

A wonderful peaceful and tranquil site with excellent Wardens

Ashridge Farm is one of our favourite sites. We've stayed there a number of times both for extended stays and as an overnight stopover on our way to the south coast. The site is within easy reach of the A1 and the nearby towns of Baldock and Royston. It is a beautifully kept small site with impeccable facilities which are a credit to the Wardens, George & Lesley. They are a lovely, kind helpful couple and it will be sad to see them leave in November and we wish them well for the future. Ashridge Farms loss will be ?s gain. There are plenty of walks around the area and the village of Ashwell has the usual shops and amenities and a couple of pubs with good food. We are loathe to recommend this site only because we want to ensure we can get on in the future.

Tranquil

Loved the location as you could easily walk into the village for provisions, coffee etc and meals at the local pubs. We fully agree with the review titled 'Peaceful'.

Peaceful

We have just spent a lovely week here. As mentioned facilities are spotless at all times as is the site. It is wonderfully quiet and perfect for recharging the batteries. There is no dog walk on site but numerous around and about, you only have to turn out the gate for a leisurely stroll through fields ( with a track to walk on). A 10/15 minute walk gets you to the centre of the village, small but 2 lovely pubs we tended to eat in the Rose and Crown, the food was delicious, home cooked and very reasonably priced. There is also the usual village store, post office and scrumptious bakery selling all sorts of goodies which we noticed many of the locals using ( always a good sign). We went on a couple of bus trips, the stop again is about a 10 minute walk (Depending how long it takes with pooch sniffing??). The bus is not that frequent but certainly adequate the driver (same one each time) knew every one getting aboard and was very friendly, he told us where to get the bus home, the times and even dropped us at the end of the road to save the short walk back. We did not have the family with us but there did not seem to be much there for youngsters though plenty of walking and possibly bike riding in the area. For a place to chill with enough around if needed we would recommend it.

site

Stopped  on this site to and from kent as we live in Scarborough.  Site very clean and tidy. Best toilets and showers weve been to.prefer cl sites for our main holiday but this did what we wanted it to do being close to the a1. Whilst we were there the village show was on and enjoyed it very much. Wardens were the best, very friendly  and helpful.
