Excellent for access to London

Really nice club site and so handy for the train to Victoria. Wardens are super friendly and keep the place spotless. Will certainly use the site again when we next travel to London.

Great location for visiting London

This was a site recommended to us by a number of friends. We were not disappointed. The location close to Abbey Wood station is great being a 10 min walk down the hill. Transfer into Cannon Street in half an hour or so. One warning is that Crossrail development can impact weekend train travel. Rail replacement buses are in operation. Enough to send a chill down your spine. It added 15-30 mins onto the journey. The site is pleasant, quiet and clean. The kids enjoyed scooting around. No late night noise to be worried about. Recimmended.

Annual Easter Holiday

Wonderful way to see London. Spotlessly clean. Friendly Wardens. Great location 5 mins walk to station ( use a family and friends railcard to cut costs of rail tickets). 35 mins into Cannon street, 15 mins into Greenwich. Children love the site and it has become an annual event

Ideal location for visiting London

Visited for a week from 2nd April and found the location of the Abbey Wood Station was only a short walk away from the site with the ability to travel into central London quick and easy using Oyster cards. Also visited Greenwich and Hampton Court by train and this was quicker than trying to drive to these locations. Will certainly use the site again when we next travel to London.

Visiting the Capital

We stayed at Abbey Wood for eight nights from 1st April and the weather was great. The site is very quiet and looked lovely in the early Spring sunshine. It was an easy ten minute walk to the railway station but I am sure the uphill got steeper every night we returned from sight seeing in London. The local cafe was good and the Chinese takeaway was great. We used a rail pass which saved us lots of dosh by giving 2 for 1 deals on the places we visited in London. Just one incident was pf concern as one fellow caravanner had his pedal bike stolen from outside his caravan about 5.30 in the evening so bikers be aware of securing your pedal bikes. The Wardens were very friendly and helpful. Only one shower block being open meant there were queues for showers etc., which was frustrating when other shower blocks could have been opened to us. Our seven year old granddaughter enjoyed the playground and the large expanses of grass to play on. Overall very happy and would visit again if we return to London.

Great spot even with a dog

We've stayed at this site several times with our Motorhome & are constantly amazed at how easy it is to get to and how simple it is to get into the city, either by train or bus. There are some fantastic parks on the doorstep for walking the dog or just getting around on foot and there is a brilliant walk to the Thames via a footpath link through parks and edging fields & lake - just amazing. Will certainly be back !

Overnighter late March

Booked a short stopover for a Friday night to break a journey to the West Country. Urban route in from the M25 was potentially daunting, however the well signposted twists and turns were satisfyingly exacting. Only one missing was 400 yards from site at roundabout into Knee Hill, but a simple right hander at a roundabout was easy enough. Entrance is in a suburban street, odd but intriguingly opened up into a very normal C&MC site with a very country feel, an amazing contrast that has to be seen to be believed. Greeting, welcome and advice from Jim and Lisa was excellent. Can't be faulted, this is how all the site wardens should be, with a very well run and pristine site without a hint of the regimented style of some....balance is the best we've seen, thank you both. Maybe the C&MC should hold these guys up as an example across the group.....? The advice Jim gave on where to eat for the evening and for breakfast was tip top, amazing value and great food at the Indian and the cafe the following morning allowed us to pitch and head off next day with just unplugging the hook-up and heading off before the inevitable London traffic slowed progress. We were there a little more than 12 hours but will be back to have a proper stay. A gem in suburbia with excellent links into the city, anyone looking to visit London should put this site at the top of the list.

Excellent site for visits to London and cycling

This was our first visit and we spent 3 nights there. The site is easily found (good signage) and a warm welcome was given. We choose the site for the rail service to London and near by cycle paths and were not disappointed. The station was just a short walk away and the service good. We also cycled the Thames path and again found access easy and spent a lovely day cycling up to Greenwich and back. Abbey Wood itself has a park and good amenities close by. The site is fairly quiet considering the proximity of roads and London city airport and the facilities were immaculate. We will definitely be going back. We can also recommend Abbey Wood cafe for their excellent breakfasts!
